Cockapoo after grooming - asked for very short, almost shaved.
Jamie S.

Very friendly staff. Fast, timely groomings - I dropped my dog off at 9am and he was ready before 12pm (the other local places I've taken him in the past would take all day). It's a VERY small building, almost more like a big shed behind the shopping plaza. And, as the other reviewer stated, it's easy to miss- you need to turn into the shopping plaza and drive behind it before you see it. Top of the scale pricing - $40 for my 25lb. cockapoo (I've paid $30-40 elsewhere). But they give you 1/2 off your first grooming appt. I had a few minor gripes that all added up to me deducting 2 stars: - The dogs are all kept in small carrying crates (like what you'd use for an airplane). They're in these the entire time unless they're getting groomed. I wish they had larger containment areas (like Riverview Pet Spa does). And all the crates are just stacked side by side and on top of each other in the small shed/building. - They gave him a clip-on bowtie (just like one for a kid), but it kept falling off; I'd prefer they just stuck with a traditional bandana. - I asked them to cut him as short as possible without completely shaving him. He looks very cute and his fur is nice and fluffy, but I don't feel they went as short as I had asked. If the cost was $30, I'd be more likely to return despite these gripes. I wasn't unhappy, but feel I can find better for my $40, so I'm going to keep looking.

She also has Old Dog Vestibular Disease, and they watched her the whole time because she gets off balance. I'm so grateful to them! They really care, and it shows. GiGi came back looking and smelling beautiful! I highly recommend Paw Spa! And they don't have crates! It's really cute the way they have the room set up. GiGi even cuddled they said with another dog they had there. Very cool!

THIS IS AN UPDATE: As far as THE PAW SPA PET GROOMING, my…read morereview is still the same. After being to the vet and taking the medications, I'm glad to inform that KHLOE IS BACK TO HER OLD SWEET SELF. Meaning: she wasn't sick when she went to get groomed. She got sick 1-2 days after that so bad that we thought we were going to loose her (she's 16). ANOTHER MISTAKE was done and eventhough I tried to get the info from the vet (that I'm not going to mention here, but Khloe will no longer be their patient)... Before grooming, the employee asked me about her shots, which I did not have the info on hand... In front of me, she called (?) the vet who apparently gave her the okay to go ahead with the grooming. Detail: her BORDATELLA had expired on 10/25/25.Which I didn't know and I believe it's required for dogs who socialize with others. She should had denied service right there. At this point, I don't know who's "not telling the thruth". Khloe wasn't seen by her usual vet, but another one who's not listed on their website. When I enquired the vet, they "go around and around" without a "direct response" eventhough "all calls are recorded". I can only get to one conclusion: they're protecting each other. Be careful with who your trust "your babies" with... principally when they're old. We're their voices and it has been proved to me that not always these businesses have their best interest on mind, but that the $$$$ is way more important. Thanks to YELP who allow us to write here a review that can not be purchased and/or changed by the business owner. ps.1 - Yes... She had knots this time as many other times in the past. Groomers should know how to deal with that. Khloe was going there since 2022 and never had a problem with Ashley. ps. 2 - Owner said that it was going to send me a record of the conversation which I never got and now I probably have been blocked from her phone. Which, BTW it's okay with me because I really don't want to deal with either businesses anymore.

She said, she did alot of extra things to my dog. I told her I didn't ask for that. She said , they didn't know how big my dog was , even though I had already told her before I came in with my dog. Wouldn't recommend!!!!!!!!! It's a ST BERNARD! Really??? She acted like I didn't tell her anything about my dog when I called. He didn't even smell good after five days , and normally when I get him groomed for $50 he smells wonderful up until his next groom. His paws and all of his white areas ,like his belly and under his chin weren't cleaned very well ,and they cut around his toenails so they now look longer than usual. Not sure what that was all about. So the extra things they did, were not things that I wanted, nor were they things that looked very good. The price I paid to have my dog groomed, was the price I would pay for a Master groomer to groom him. He should've looked like 1 million bucks for the price I paid. His coat wasn't shiny. Not sure if they put them in a bathtub or if they just sprayed him down, but normally when he gets groomed he's very shiny when you look at him in the sun, because he is put in a tub, and he was not shiny. His hair was dry and dull. Not sure how this Groomer received an almost 5 star rating but I've had my dog for almost 10 years now and never have I been charged so much for such a horrible groom. I had to come home and cut the hair on his paw pads myself. I just can't believe that I used to pay $50 for a groom, and the results were much better. I can see dirt on my hands when I pet him. A white film, which normally takes weeks to accumulate before the next groom. Unfortunately I had to move for work, and was just trying to find a good groomer in my area. If you are going to charge $120 for a perfectly groomed dog, you need to have the right equipment and the right staff and the right products. I feel he needs a groom again, and that's ridiculous . So unhappy, but moving on.. The reply back was very unprofessional and untrue. My dog gets groomed every 4 to six weeks for the last 9 and a half years without fail.. I furnminate him once a week as well as clean his ears. I may have been lucky to get his grooms done for only $50.00, and she May think it's unrealistic, but they only charged that, because his coat is in good condition and he is always well groomed. It just wasn't worth 120$ was my point. I wouldn't have minded paying more, for a better groom. We moved here from Wisconsin 8 years ago, and my dog has never had issues. If she knew anything about the breed, the fact that he is almost 10!years old and is still looking and moving like he does is pretty amazing , and she wouldn't have made such rude remarks. I take very good care of my dog and he is very well acclimated to this weather. That in my opinion, is just an excuse for unacceptable work. Maybe the problem was that they don't normally take large breed dogs or have a tub big enough. Just look at their pics on their website. Not one big dog that I can see. And the only reason I didn't say anything to her while I was there was because of the attitude that she gave me when I brought up the amount that she was trying to charge me. I figured with someone with an attitude like that , calling wouldn't make any sense, so I just decided to leave a review to let others know what I experienced at this pet salon. And she is absolutely not being honest about what she quoted me. She NEVER told me it would be 120$, or I would not have gone there. I do appreciate a job well done, and I know how much work goes into grooming my dog. He is my dog, and I groom him myself in between grooms, and I know what it takes. , maybe the owner doesn't appreciate honesty. All she had to do was say she was sorry. All the extra insensitive remarks were unnecessary. As a business owner she should know better.

I learned that I was not was not feeding my pets, healthy food, I had exhausted all of my options, including the vet. Blue is not a healthy pet food. A lot of pets, develop pancreatitis cancer on a blue diet. My coworker suggested I speak to the the owner, Janet. I am so glad I did. My pet problems with food were solved that very day. Unfortunately, I'm not able to put them all on the same food due to the needs of each pet. Her recommendations for each of my pet were spot on and I no longer have the stress of dealing with picky eaters. At first, I thought I would not be able to afford the pet food however, Janet pointed out to me that because it is so much more healthier, you don't give the same amount as the yucky, grocery store, pet food. It's not filled with fillers and byproducts. Anyone who loves their pet the way they love their children, like me, should definitely go here to get the proper healthy pet food. Think of it this way, as you will be, reducing the amount of veterinarian visits. My white boxer was occasionally having problems with diarrhea and I would have to take him to the vet. They would prescribe him a probiotic. a $200 to $300 visit every 2 to 4 months. I started going to Pet Pros in October located in Rockledge on Barton close to the thrifty produce. and have not had health issues with my pets. I am telling all pet parents. you cannot put a price on the life of a loved one. Please keep an open mind when shopping. It may seem expensive, but you are getting top quality. I always try to support the family owned businesses as opposed to the big box discount stores that everyone is so addicted to it. They do not give back to the community, nor do they help the poor people that spend their hard earned money there. Please support these independently owned, high-quality businesses. You will be doing your loved ones and your self a lot of good. Janet did not know a whole lot about me, but she did know that I had several pets on a fixed income, and she never pushed me into buying things I did not need. She gave me samples small bags for my other dogs so that I did not have to buy the entire bag to see if they liked it. Also, they have a Rewards program. After you buy so many bags, you get a free one. She immediately built my trust. I'm very disappointed to see people give one star rating because of the pet grooming situation. LOOK AT THEIR MISSION STATEMENT. They are pioneers of providing healthy pet food. That is their goal. Not pet grooming. You were very FORTUNATE to have benefited from the great pet grooming service they provided. I am guessing if the pet grooming, service was not so good, you would not be complaining! Pet grooming was not a goal, it was an extra service that she tried to maintain as long as she could. Apparently you benefited from it. Now you are angry it's gone. Sounds like you should have given a five star review for all the great pet grooming you received keeping in mind it's not a part of the stores mission statement or goal. Janet & partner has worked hard over the last 25 years to maintain her stores, has expert knowledge, provides customer solutions. Because of inflation and wage increases, McDonald's, Walmart, Petsmart are not going to lose money. Just listen to the news, mom and Pop stores & independently owned restaurants are struggling. You do not know the situation. Sometimes business decisions need to be made in order to survive. You expect a single business owner to run to stores 365 days a year, and then expect grooming services, which is a growing booming business. These small stores are not set up to accommodate these services. Do not punish the store based on one factor. I would like to see you run an excellent pet store like this. You do not know the logistics of what's going on behind the scenes. I find it unfair and very selfish to slam a hard working independent business and their team. I used to go to a pet grooming shop behind JCPenney. The strip center of stores behind the Merritt island mall. I took my cats at the beginning of summer to have them shaved. The lady and her husband ran the place. The shop was the same size as Pet Pros. I could see in 2015, both of them never had day off. Look at the bigger picture when making a review of the business.
