When I called back to confirm the cancellation, the person on the other end chose to blame her AI system, then the call service... not an apology, not trying to rectify it... just a 3 day late appointment and an attitude. 2 stars because people on the phone were very nice... but it would have been great if they kept an appointment or their word on the phone in 85 degree weather. For reference, here is my experience: - booked appointment last night due to the emergency nature, agreed to pay additional cost for a service call - right after, I received a confirmation email - considering how everyone else in this business seems to see appointments as suggestions, I decided to call in and confirm just to be sure at noon (apt from noon to 4). - person on the phone who was great told me that he saw the appointment but there wasn't anyone assigned to it. He said he couldnt do much but he would call dispatch urgently and then get right back to me. - an hour later (25% of the appointment window), I hadent heard back so I called back again. - the weekend scheduler (who was very nice) was unable to see anything or transfer me to anyone else. So on a long weekend, 85 degree weather, air conditioning out and set an appointment with $170 weekend service charge (give or take) scheduled, we didnt call anyone else assuming that this company kept its appointments. Happy Labor Day to you too!!!!!!!!

His company, A & C offered a competitive quote...they were not the lowest price, but as it stands, that is only part of my decision when deciding to secure service. I considered the reviews on Yelp, Google, Facebook, etc. and I sought advice from my community. My conversation with Chris sold me, and my gut said, A & C was the right decision. I received a text message letting me know when his crew was dispatched to us and gave us the progress on the repair. His crew, Chris and Mckinley were courteous, explained what they would be doing, were quick to install my 4 inch chimney liner and cleaned up afterward. When they were finished, they showed me the completed work and answered any questions I had. Good men all! Today, I received a follow-up this morning to see how the install went for me...a great touch. A & C has secured our future business!

This is not to be confused with Comfort ZONE, which is also in Royal Oak - this is Comfort ZONES…read moreHeating & Air Conditioning. I made a Yelp page for them since the other business already has an established Yelp page. Last Tuesday, I noticed my hot water heater making odd noises, after I took a bath that night. I went to look and sure enough, there was about a half-inch of water on the floor. Last year I experienced a massive house flood, so I definitely didn't want that to happen again. I have an Appliance Plan with Consumers Energy so I called them, and they outsourced it to Comfort Zone. Comfort Zone showed up at my house the next morning, diagnosed the problem (water landing on top of the flame, apparently), and were able to install a new water heater the same day, which was great. The cost was $1470, which sounds like a lot but Lowe's was quoting me $1650+ that same day, too. The reason for the three stars is that they aren't great at answering the phone. The next day after the water heater installation, one of my sinks was operating at about 60-70% of its former water stream, so they said they'd send someone down to look at it (this was Thursday). By 4-5pm Thursday I hadn't heard back from them and no one had shown up, I left them a voicemail to say Friday would be fine. I called again Friday morning and got voicemail again; I said that 3:30pm would be the latest I could have someone over on Friday. Sure enough, at like 3:25pm one of the techs, Cory, did show up, and was able to fix the problem ... but there was no communication from either him or Denise, the receptionist (and possibly owner?), about this. That being said, I'd still use them again because they were able to quickly diagnose the problem + install a new water heater on the same day, so I didn't have to stay somewhere else overnight, since I had to turn off the water to my entire house.
