Terrible experience. Had trouble getting a spot because the parking lot was a mess. I ended up getting boxed in by someone who was in their appointment so I had to wait until theirs was done. Was largely ignored by front desk upon entering as a first time client. Vet techs were so nice and so friendly. The vet, however, was extremely rude and arrogant. Since this was my first time owning a certain breed of dog, I had a few questions for him (the vet), to which he couldn't answer really any and ended up responding, "haven't you ever owned a dog before?" Yes, I have, but not this dog and not this breed. He then went on to tell me the questions were beneath him and left the room. If you want a caring, knowledgeable vet who will take the time with you and your pet, this is NOT the place. read more

I'm so thankful for this vet they have given me so much helpful advice! My cat went through surgery in the summer and they've been so great with all my questions as well as the low cost neutering they offer. I also really appreciate the doctors ability to be patient and take time to actually understand the animals needs. It turns out my cat was allergic to most ingredients in his food & swapping to a low ingredient diet (the only vet who has been able to determine this) he's finally happy and healthy! After my sweet kitty, Shelly,developed uremia, I took her to Clinton Veterinary Hospital. When I called, I was given an immediate appointment. Shelly was 16 years old but that did not matter to Dr. Bolger, his amazing staff or me. Shelly was given the absolute most compassionate and thorough care any sick animal deserves. As Shelly's end approached, Dr. Bolger called me every day, giving me complete updates, and ultimately, guided me through the most difficult decision a pet owner has to make. I have three surviving cats and I will take them to Clinton Veterinary Hospital, through sickness and in health. I cannot thank Dr. Bolger, Laura, Melissa, Mallory and the entire staff for making this most sad and difficult time, less painful. My family has been taking our cats here since we adopted them as strays years ago. I've found the staff to be helpful - they have worked with us on several occasions, allowing us to drop-off and pick up at odd hours, etc. I feel this is a place where the staff truly cares about your pets. It is somewhat pricey, but worth it overall. read more

I am HORRIFIED. I brought both my boy cats to get fixed and they chopped their nails off all the way down past the root. My babies came home with bloody paws and in more pain from them cutting through the nerve on their nails than pain from getting neutered. I don't know what else to call it other than abuse. Absolutely AWFUL place - do NOT go especially if you have children. They refused to treat a cat we brought in because our baby was crying - and asked us to leave and come back. Business is clearly booming because the waiting room was deserted at this time. That being said, if you like having vets speak in a patronizing tone to you, this is the place to you. I was excited to have a vet nearby our new home that was open late during the week. Unfortunately, we did not have a good experience here. Where do I begin... We were told the test results for my sick cat would be available on a Saturday. We anxiously awaited the vet's phone call on Saturday morning because we wanted to get our cat medicine before the office closed at 1 pm. I called their office twice that day and was told that the results were on the vet's desk and that I would definitely receive a call from him before the office closed. I didn't. Though we were frustrated that our cat would have to be in pain until at least Monday (the office is closed on Sundays), we gave the vet the benefit of the doubt (maybe he had to rush out after his last appointment, maybe he forgot to call, etc.) so we thought for sure that we could receive a call on Monday morning. Monday came and went, and since I had called twice on Saturday, I tried to be patient and wait for their call. By 4 pm, we still hadn't received a call. We called the office and discovered that they close at 3 pm on Mondays! Needless to say, on Tuesday morning, I called the office in a fury as soon as they opened. At that point, the secretary read me the results and told me what we needed to do in order to help my sick pet. Why she couldn't do this on Saturday, I am not sure. If you work in the medical field, you must act with a sense of urgency, especially when the animal is clearly sick AND when the owner has followed up with you multiple times. I don't care how nice and friendly the secretary and the vet are. When you are aware that an animal is sick, you do not wait 3+ days to follow up. Moreover, after our experience, we received an email with a survey. We expressed our discontent and anger in the survey, and, believe it or not, we never received a call from the vet or an office manager to inquire about our experience or to apologize. Save your time and your pet, and go to another vet. We moved our pets to the Lancaster VCA and have been very happy with them. read more

I have been bringing my dogs to Clinton Veterinary Hospital for about 7 years. Dr. Bolger and all of the staff have always been very caring, friendly and thorough with their care/examinations. They always follow up to check on the dogs if they have been in for a sick examination. When I had a very sick girl, Dr. Bolger called over the weekend to check on her. He has always given good advice regarding my pet's care. read more

We had just rescued our third cat. My vet was in Acton, MA and since living in Lancaster, we found it easier to get to a more local vet. We were referred by Clinton Veterinary by several friends. We had all cats have a well check exam, shots etc. The staff was super nice, the facility clean and bright, The vets are amazing, and everyone here is compassionate, kind and seems to love their job working with animals. We even got a handwritten note in the mail thanking us for our business and welcomming our new pets. !!! 10 stars all around!!!! read more

I take my cat here for its yearly checkup and it is really a good little p[lace to go.. Though kind of expensive it is worth it because the vet here looks over the animal very carefully and really tells you what you should and should not be doing with you animal.. read more

I wish I could give this place zero stars. I just took my two cats for an exam and rabies shots. I recently moved from Framingham. I was taking Bruce and Buttons to Natick Animal Clinic for the past few years and loved every experience. Since this clinic is five minutes from my home, I decided to check it out. Everything was ok until we got into the room; It smelled and the trash was overflowing with what looked like fecal matter on hospital napkins. After a few minutes, we had the displeasure of meeting Dr. James V. Bolger. I introduced him to myself, my fiance and our cats and he just went to the exam table with his cold face and attitude to begin his torture. He was so rough and unfriendly with Buttons. I take them to their appointments regularly and Buttons has NEVER been so upset. He began to whine and hiss. I told the Doctor to cool it and he called in a tech with a towel to finish the examination. He refused to clip their nails which was fine with me. After finishing, he wouldn't even let me near Buttons and was SO rude to me about it. I feel so bad for putting my cats through this hell. If you love your pets and want them to receive tender and genuine care and treatment, take them elsewhere. read more

I love Dr. Bolger, he is wonderful. He is straight to the point and has never steered me wrong. He treated my cat for diabetes and my dog for a herniated disc in her back. Both animals are doing really great because of his care. He also doesn't overcharge you or do unnecessary tests. His staff is pretty great and accommodating as well. read more

I've brought my cats to Clinton Veterinary Hospital for 10 years. I always see the same vet, who knows my cats and their history. Everyone in the clinic knows our cats and they all take great care of them. This is an organization which is genuinely a partner in your animal's health. We've taken many dogs and cats to Dr. Bolger over the years and they have always received excellent care. The staff is wonderful. Dr. Bolger doesn't drive up the cost or over-test, and doesn't nickel and dime you like the VCA vets. However he has always been on target with insulin doses, and other medical issues. His experience allows him to diagnose what's bothering our pets quickly and recommend appropriate treatments. He has shown a very caring attitude toward our pets. read more

This vet is the worst. First het tells us two of our dogs have cancer. Which they didn't. One is a rescue that is just sickly. The other one had sever indigestion and another minor thing. Plus: they are horribly expensive. $450 to get our dog spayed? You've got to be kidding. Will never go back there. Ever. read more

I've been bringing my pets there since he opened in 1999. Over the years I've been less & less satisfied with the customer service & level of care shown. Today was the last straw. My questions & concerns for my dog were blown off & dismissed.
