I have been going to the Clifton Snooker Centre in Bangor since I was a schoolboy over 20 years ago.
It was always a wonderful place to play snooker and it had a friendly atmosphere.
Sadly,it has gone steadily downhill over the past couple of years.
When arriving on a Saturday nowadays, it is more likely to be closed than open (apparently they are unable to get staff willing to work on a Saturday ! ). I would have thought that this is the most popular day to play snooker.
Even if it is open, customers are greeted with unwelcome gaming machines which belong in an amusement arcade.
The carpet has not seen a vacuum cleaner for many months.
The choice of snacks is very limited and very few other players are there as they probably have found a new centre to play.
Hopefully, Clifton Snooker will, one day, be able to return to its former high standards but the current owners/management appear to have little or no interest in the Centre. read more
