I was referred here by my primary for a root canal consult. The office is very organized, the staff is friendly, and there were no wait times for all 3 of my appointments. Parking can be scarce though so arrive a few minutes early. Twice I needed to park in a neighboring office building lot. Dr Stern performed my root canal. He thoroughly explained what was going to happen, since this was my first root canal. No pain, no complaints. Hopefully will never need another root canal, but if I do this is the place. read more

I was recommended by my dentist for a root canal, and he said that I should use Dr. Elfenbein. I had heard of Dr. Elfenbein through the town that I (and my family) used to live in but hadn't known his work or that this was one of his specialties. This wasn't my first root canal (had a few when I was much younger), but - holy cow! - Dr. Elfenbein's work (and his entire office) is absolutely SUPERB. From check-in to exam to the root canal itself, the Doctor and his staff were just exemplary in their handling of my case - both technically and through their patient services. Pain was almost non-existent, I was talked through every single phase as it happened, and follow-on care was spot-on. Seriously, I can't think of one thing that they could have done better. The only thing scarier than a root canal is a root canal from a dentist you do not know. My regular dentists are retired. I found Dr. Leslie Elfenbein by pure accident. This was a happy accident even by Bob Ross's standards. I shattered a tooth (upper molar) on Wednesday, by Thursday night it started to really hurt and I called as an emergency, on Friday morning the root canal was completed. Dr. Elfenbein is what they have in mind when talking about bed-side manner. He is not only very pleasant but he gives you confidence in him. I am terrified of dental needles. He did not rush me, took me slowly, was incredibly kind and I cannot be over appreciative. He did the procedure at 11:30 AM and then called me himself at 9:30 that night to check on me. Almost two days later now and still no pain, soreness, nothing. Sometimes, the doctor is great but the office staff is not. This is not the case here. The office staff have all been with him for years, are incredibly kind and helpful and this is just a great practice to deal with. read more

I found Clifton Endodontics through google reviews and I'm so glad that I did! I read nothing but good things about this place and needed a dentist who would help with a root canal retreatment. I found it nice that we had to call the office before entering so they could make sure they have a room for us to go in. The secretary was extremely welcoming and funny. I did not have to wait at all for a room and I was immediately greeted by the dental assistants. He was very nice while taking my x-rays because I told him that I hate the pain from it. He also explained the whole process before I got the 3D scan. The dentist popped in to tell me he would be right with me which I loved because he is considering my time. He asked me all the questions needed before looking at my x-rays and explained everything that needed work, even if it didn't pertain to what he can help with. I really needed to know what steps to take! He also didn't just tell me I needed a retreatment to get my money but told me another option of tooth extraction (which he doesn't do himself). He told me he wanted me to know all options before continuing. I would advise anyone to go here if they need the services. Nothing but amazing and really educated staff. read more

Over the past few years, I've visited Dr. Tewary's office for three separate root canal treatments (on three different teeth). Needing a root canal is never ideal, but Dr. Tewary and her staff make the procedure as pleasant and painless as I could ever wish for. When I first met Dr. Tewary, I was experiencing excruciating pain from an untreated (and previously misdiagnosed) oral infection. Dr. Tewary immediately diagnosed the issue and then clearly explained why I was experiencing such intense pain, why my previous dentist failed to diagnose the issue, and how a root canal procedure would remedy my pain. During the procedure, I expected to suffer--or at least feel discomfort--but Dr. Tewary was gentle and always asking if I were uncomfortable. Before I knew it, the procedure was over, and after a brief recovery period, I was finally relieved of prolonged pain. For that, I am forever in Dr. Tewary's debt. Each subsequent experience with Dr. Tewary has only deepened my appreciation of and gratitude towards her. She's excellent at her job, and she's also a kind, patient, and down-to-earth person, which helps make root canal procedures more pleasant. Dr. Tewary also has an incredible staff that relieves a different kind of pain typically associated with medical procedures: the headache of having to deal with insurance. When I had an issue with my insurance, her staff advocated on my behalf for months until the problem was finally resolved in my favor. As a result, I recouped hundreds of dollars, which, for someone living on a meager grad-school stipend, was crucial. I am so grateful for the uniformly excellent level of care in this office. Although I hope I won't have to be making too many more visits, I at least will always have the assurance that I'll be in the best of hands. read more

At the beginning of this year, I had to get a root canal (my first!). I was referred to this practice by my regular dentist, and I requested to be seen by Dr Tewary based on her positive reviews on Healthgrades. I never thought I would have a positive root canal experience, but Dr Tewary made the process and follow-up appointments very manageable. She is very personable, friendly, and professional. She also works very carefully, and explains her thought process clearly and patiently. The office staff here is also very friendly and competent. They accepted my insurance with Cigna, and processed the paperwork properly and efficiently. They also send postcard reminders in the mail to remind you to make follow-up appointments. If you have to get a root canal or need an endodontist for any reason, I can't recommend Dr Tewary enough. read more

I am a self professed basket case when it comes to all things dental work. I was referred to Dr Tewary from my dentist when she discovered that I needed a root canal. I spent an entire week panicking about my appointment and figuring out an excuse to avoid it completely. All of my fears went away once I arrived and met Dr Tewary and her team. She took the time to ask me questions and to really understand my anxieties and concerns around dental work. She checked in on me multiple times throughout the procedure and was gentle and kind. He's friendly, professional, good-humored - with unbelievable skills. I have seen many dentists in my life- he is by far the most calming and gentlest. I have to say this is an awesome experience. My first root canal was over 20 years ago at a regular dentist, that was a horrible root canal and I was petrified of dentists. I found a regular dentist and I go faithfully 2 times a year. He referred me to Dr. Tewary. I was referred to Clifton Endodontics, Dr. Tewary specifically by my primary dentist because I had consistent upper and lower rear tooth pain, that traditional X-rays could not conclusively diagnose. Dr. Tewary and the office staff were accommodating, professional and very knowledgeable. Every diagnostic test possible was conducted prior to determining that I did in fact, need a root canal. I appreciated Dr. Tewary's honesty and commitment to salvaging my tooth. Not to mention, the procedure was completely pain free! What?! When does that ever happen? She is a wizard when it comes to injecting a local anesthetic. Not all Doctors are good at hitting the gum in just the right spot to ensure the procedure is pain free. I am the biggest chicken when it comes to the dentist. I couldn't even remember the last time I went was. When my dentist told me I had to have a root canal I freaked. I was recommended to come here to Clifton Endodontics so it made me feel somewhat better that they specialized in root canals. I got an appointment super quick and easy. The one girl Melissa was so sweet and helpful when I found out I had no more dental insurance but she helped me find my best options in getting it done. I saw Dr. Deblinger last Thursday and he began to work on the tooth. I felt nothing, he didn't start until I was 100% numb. He had to stop because it was a sensitive area so to make sure I wasn't in pain he killed the nerves. Even the day after they called me to make sure I was okay. I went back this morning to do the actual root canal and I actually fell asleep at one point that's how much I was numb he explained every step as he went on. He was amazing I would recommend this office and Dr. Deblinger all the way. They actually care about their patients and how they feel.
