My daughter and I went in after a long day of flying looking for a pedicure and a an acrylic refill. Firstly, the stool chairs were really uncomfortable, they said they had time to do our nails but then we sat there waiting for ages. Then my daughter got the fastest pedicure, no Foot massage at all which everyone knows is part of a mani. She was disappointed as our feet were aching. I explained what I wanted but then they swapped technicians & before I knew it my nails were short! Then the varnish was not covering my nail on the sides and smeared on my fingers. It was dreadful. Cleopatra nails near jb hi5 I'm townhall. Came today to get ma manicure and shellac done as I have an event tomorrow. It was busy and they were closing soon. Appreciated the fact that they still accommodated me, they then proceeded by asking me to sit down in the middle of two people. I waited and I know the process so it's ok. My right hand was in the water for an extended period of time and my left after dipping into the water was clean in just less than a minute. I can already tell this isn't going to go well or that the person will not properly clean my nails *you just know* they way she hold my hand, the way she cut the dry skin, the way the she's piling it just doesn't feel like she's cleaning. I let her do her thing as I'm probably just judgemental. The cleaning was process was sooooo quick. Already putting shellac in less than 1 min. I shit you not! On the process of putting polish there were so many crust on the side, I could see my dry skin that was suppose to be cut it's there and it's just making it more dry due to the crust of the polish she put. We are up to drying my nails, my nails isn't worth $50!! So I asked if she manicure my nails because if she didn't, I'm ok but I'm ok to pay less than that too since they look really in a rush to close the salon. When I was asking she then become soo defensive "I already clean your nails! What do you mean?!" to when I replied "does that look clean to you?" I wasn't even mad when I asked, just wanted to get her opinion on what's shes's seeing because I want to justify the $50. I spend a lot on money when i come in to this salon, most of the time I pay $75 and I even give tips to people who's doing my nails coz i usually love my nails and i can justify paying $75 eventho i know it is really expensive. My usual manicurist is the guy and the lady with bangs and short hair. I had to do a simple shellac color because its not allowed at my current job to have decorated nails, anyway my service would cost me $50. But I was not going to pay $50 for a shit job just because she just want to close the salon and she just wants to get my nails done. She got upset when I told her my nails doesn't look clean at all, and instead of her fixing it, she was attacking my nails for being SOOOOOO DIRTY!!! I didn't realized I have to come to the salon semi clean for a manicure. Anyway, all I really want for her is to clean up the excess polish on my nails and I am not even asking too much but she was so upset. She then asked "what do you want me to do?" before I ever answered She started speaking her language and another lady came to fix my nails. She then tried to clean which is already hard as I already had polish on and they are closing, she tried her best, but considering I had to pay $50 for a very poor service. When I was gonna pay as she is always handling the payment she called the other manicurist to assist me with the payment. Like, how rude, unprofessional and way over priced if this is the service I will get. So not going to return to this place even I know it is just this person who made my whole experience feel like shit but, not coming back as I know she's always in reception and instead of her fixing her own work she attacked me by saying my nails ARE SOOOOOO DIRTY!. Like, how can your colleague make my nails so much better but properly cutting off dry skin and cleaning the excess polish and YOU CANT? Explain?! There's no difference except you were rushing, and really not caring about how my hand look and get upset when you get call out. I would rather go to cheaper salon in Sydney not here. I only come here due to the consistent great service I receive from people I when i come, who i really don't really see there now,. So I'd probably take my money elsewhere since not only I was told my nails are very dirty, no apology, expensive pricing the consistency is gone. This experience has left a really bad taste in mouth. My nail technician was amazing and I wish I could take her back to the states! She chatted with me the whole time and was awesome at giving me recommendations,, she shaped my nails perfect, didn't over file or mess up. She was very detail oriented. Friendly and the service was not too long or too short. The salon had many workers, all doing great job. Tons of nail colors available, as well as many techniques! Bottled water available. I'm not sure how my U.S. standards compare to Aus, but this salon wasn't the best. wasn't the worst. They do gel nails if that's what you fancy. This is located on the 2nd floor above street level near the overpass facing the promenade. It's right outside of Myer. I think the job they did was actually a 2 star. - no cuticle push back - polish was rushed - massage was 20 seconds per hand - color selection was limited - Manicure $25 is a little steep for the quality The only reason for the 3 stars is because they have a TV playing movies. They were showing Love Actually when I was there, and it made both the waiting for someone to start and nails drying experiences more pleasurable. read more

I love this place. Technicians are friendly and skilled. I've only had services on natural nails and have been pleased every time. I like the non aggressive manicures, not too much cutting back of the cuticles or heavy buffing. I can get a few days out of a regular, non gel, polish and have beautifully shaped nails for weeks. Colour selection is fantastic and bound to suit your mood or trend. Lovely hydrating lotions and herbal soaks. I wear acrylic nails, mostly out of necessity (I'm a hairdresser and all that water from shampooing wrecks natural nails). That being said, I wandered into Cleopatra with a cracked nail on my index finger. I don't remember the moment in which it happened, but it was a bad crack. The price to fix the crack was $5, which I was totally happy with, but I opted for a fill instead as I was close to needing one anyway. Most nail shops don't understand the shape I prefer, which is a square with rounded edges. Squoval, I guess. Beauty school has taught me that particular shape is strongest, however, I just prefer it because it looks really natural. I usually end up with either very square, fake looking nails with pointy corners, or granny-style round nails. I was so psyched that I didn't have to overly describe the shape to my nail technician, or borrow the file to show them what I like (I'm only slightly ashamed to admit I have been "that girl" before). She just knew. It was fabulous. In addition to a lovely fill and great polish job, they have pretty much every OPI color on the planet, and they are all arranged in rainbow order from light to dark for each color. This pleased my OCD side greatly. It's also a beautiful nail salon; it is clean and decorated in a very chic, modern way. Lovely place. This place does an amazing job-- I got a regular pedicure and all of my friends thought it was a gel job because it was that well done. Every time I go my pedicure will last over three weeks and for as much as I'm on my feet that's impressive! It's a fairly standard nail place but I do find it to be cleaner than your average nail joint--they also play fun chick flicks in the background so you can get your dose of Ryan Gosling while you get glam! read more

I went to Cleopatra nails following a recommendation by a friend. I had a significantly different experience from the experience leading to the referral. I had a pedicure which was a two star performance: - feet were scrubbed but not buffed. - nails were lightly filed but no shape was created. - no cuticle push back and only minimal removal of cuticle edges, leaving some ragged edges. - i had shellac and due to that being rushed it was not set properly prior to placing back in my shoes resulting in damage to the 'paintwork'. Finally my mate had hers for $40 - they then asked me for $70 for mine. Significant price difference and really a second rate job. I would not return. read more

Recommended by hotel concierge.Went in for a fill and I was taken in right away. Fill and replace a broken nail. Asked for them short with white tip. Same as I have. She said if I wanted short she would have to paint on the white tip. Fair enough. A half hour later, and with the worst job I have had, I am out $55. By the time I was out the door they had closed and locked door behind them. She painted on the one nail that was broken without fixing it. She did not put any colour on the other nails so 9 are dull and barely white while the thumb sticks out like......well, a sore thumb! Since different salons do it differently I did think she was doing it her own way until the end. We leave on a ship this morning so no chance of getting anything re-done. Appalling!! Paid $55 dollars for replacement SNS, usually $25 and they expected to finish with a gel coat under a UV lamp. This is not how SNS is done and the reason I have SNS is to avoid the UV lamp. I didn't allow them to use the UV lamp so consequently was told I would have to wait 10mins, after that time I asked twice if I was finished and ignored, finally walked out after 15mins. Will never return. My regret is that I paid for the service before they were finished. I won't make that mistake again. read more
