I am not one to write a bad review, but I chose this office based off Yelp reviews, so I would hate for someone else to have an experience like I did. I had to have my big toenail removed, which was the most painful procedure I've ever been through (and I've birthed three babies). She gave me maximum numbing injections, so I'm not sure what the problem was there. I cried the entire time. My biggest issue was her communication style. It's hard to explain her style of communication and how off-putting it was in a Yelp review, but I've never experienced another doctor like this. I sobbed throughout the procedure and couldn't stop crying afterwards. While giving me post-procedure care instructions, I asked if she was going to print them out for me, which she said "I guess so" (she didn't). I took notes on my phone instead while crying. I asked when I could wear normal shoes again, and her response (while I was still very upset), was that "people go play soccer right after getting toenails removed" (obviously trying to imply that I was overreacting). I have to get my toe checked again because it doesn't seem to be healing correctly, but I will certainly not be going back to this office. I do want to say though that the front office ladies were very nice, and Dr. Marino seemed nice as well (saw him in passing).

Since the pain was hard to pinpoint and mainly showed up during activity, she was thorough and patient in tracking down the source. She did X-rays and found arthritis in the joint. From there she took a smart methodical approach, doing a lidocaine injection first to confirm the source and then a Cortisone injection once we knew it worked. I expected weeks before feeling relief but I'm already back to working out pain-free. She's a great communicator, walking me through everything including personalized shoe recommendations, and is very personable. Highly recommend Dr. Wong!

The door was still locked so he knocked. The receptionist opened up and from the very start was absolutely rude and unwelcoming. The guard pushed my wheelchair into the waiting room. I was never even greeted or asked how I was -- just presented with paperwork. I explained I can't write legibly due to strokes and she became more inflamed and angrily retreated to her desk. She came back a little later and attempted to just drop the clipboard in my lap where my purse already was. I told her a 2nd time of my challenges and that I need help, it's never ever been a problem anywhere else before. She would not help me. A second office staff came in and also asked me to fill out the paperwork and I told her the same thing. I said very clearly, I can't write well and need help. The original receptionist said, "you have to get your caregiver to help you." Well, my caregiver wasn't there that day or he would have. Suddenly, Dr. Marino appeared in the hallway and very loudly said, " if you refuse to fill out the paperwork, I can't see you." He was standing in the hallway and never came into the waiting room to talk to me like a normal human being. I told him the same thing I'd already said three times. I need some help! He just kept reiterating the same, with an extremely loud voice. I felt so humiliated I wanted to cry. He walked away and I told the staff if no one will help me then I obviously can't see the doctor. The first and really rude receptionist, Lisa, was asked to wheel me back down to my car but stopped way short. I said, "I guess you're not used to dealing with the disabled." She just said, "No mam" and walked away. I wrote a review on what turned to be their former fb page and quickly received an apologetic call from Kelly, the office manager. She said Lisa had recently experienced a traumatic loss and probably came back to work too soon. And her excuse for Dr. Marino was he's just a loud Italian and claimed he'd been told I simply refused the paperwork when in fact I asked 4 times for help for but was told to have my caregiver do this task. Kelly claimed they help with paperwork all the time. BS. I filed a complaint of disability discrimination with my insurance company and they found the evidence was in my favor. I never received a call from Dr. Marino apologizing for his rudeness and failure to address me with any level of respect or concern. Kelly had offered for them to see me after hours so I could avoid seeing Lisa but that is certainly not the kind of relationship I want to forge with any doctors office, having to avoid a particular staff member. Kelly seemed sincere at first and said she was horrified at what transpired and suggested having Lisa take additional paid time off. However she was not completely forthcoming answering the complaint with my insurer so my initial temptation to sympathize with Lisa's misfortune and forgive and forget quickly evaporated. This place was awful to me and didn't treat me with any dignity or professionalism whatsoever. They discriminated against my disability and the doctor himself never stepped up to the plate to apologize for his very own part in this. Inexcusable.
