From there she took a smart methodical approach, doing a lidocaine injection first to confirm the source and then a Cortisone injection once we knew it worked. I expected weeks before feeling relief but I'm already back to working out pain-free. Second, Dr. Collins spent significant time during my visit to help determine what the issue was, and what would be needed to treat it, while still allowing me to keep my travel plans. Doctor expertise was the most important aspect for me. The Urgent Care P.A. I had seen first was very good, but was still a bit mystified, so he referred me to a Podiatrist. Dr. Collins demonstrated excellent insight. He had, on premises, a "boot-light" method of assisting in my recovery. He has an X-ray machine on site too. Also important was the ability to get in, and Pat was friendly and professional as well. As another reviewer said, "Worth the drive." Definitely.

Extremely Disappointing and Hurtful Experience…read more I left this office feeling completely dismissed, humiliated, and discriminated against because of my insurance. I have CHAMPVA as the spouse of a disabled veteran, and from the moment I arrived, I felt like I was being treated differently simply because of the insurance I carry. I came prepared with my CHAMPVA insurance card, ID, and an official verification/eligibility letter. Despite providing clear documentation, the women at the front desk continued relaying concerns to the doctor about whether my insurance would "accept" the visit. I went as far as calling CHAMPVA directly while I was there, and my insurance representative personally verified my eligibility. Even after that verification, I was still not given the benefit of the doubt. Instead, the doctor ultimately chose not to bill my insurance and told me that he would not provide the care I needed. What was most upsetting was how powerless and dismissed I felt throughout the entire experience. I did everything I could to verify my coverage and provide documentation, yet it seemed as though my insurance status had already influenced how I was being treated before I was even given an opportunity to receive care. I understand that a provider may choose not to accept a particular insurance plan. However, there is a major difference between simply saying, "We do not accept CHAMPVA," and making a patient feel as though their insurance is somehow less legitimate or less worthy of being accepted--even after the patient has provided proof of eligibility and contacted the insurance company directly. As the spouse of a disabled veteran, it was especially upsetting to feel judged and treated differently because of the healthcare benefits I receive through my family's military service. I walked out feeling embarrassed, frustrated, and genuinely hurt. Patients should not have to beg to be believed when they have documentation proving their eligibility. I came to this office seeking medical care, and instead I left feeling dismissed and discriminated against. I sincerely hope the office takes this experience seriously and reevaluates how patients with CHAMPVA and other government-sponsored insurance are treated in the future. No patient should be made to feel like they are a burden simply because of the insurance they have.

I had repeatedly used topical remedies but issues persisted. Finally I decided to seek out a private Podiatrist and wound up in the office of Dr. Ortman. Thoughtful, kind and gentle he confirmed the fugal infection and proceeded to take the first of two last steps in eradicating it. I got plantar fascia from doing too many long distance charity walks and developed a heel spur over the two years of training and the actual walks. I have been going here for a few months and my heel spur is definitely improving though I started feeling better within a few weeks of beginning treatment. For someone who is on their feet for roughly 12 hours a day, it's hard to heal my heel. Everyone I've encountered at this office is a gem. Always so kind, patient, and dedicated to helping. I highly recommend this office and ignoring those less than happy reviews.

I was more than pleased with Dr. Robison whom I saw for a minor foot problem. The office and staff…read morewere lovely, and Dr. Robison was caring, easy to talk to, and asked detailed questions about my symptoms, activity and medical history. His examination was just as careful. I liked how he described anatomic and functional nuances about my feet that I was completely unaware of, and how they contributed to my complaint. He examined my shoes and demonstrated why they weren't the best for my feet and provided a list of specific brands and models that would be better. Fortunately, my foot problem will not require any major therapeutic interventions aside from some special exercises, so it seems unlikely I will have to see Dr. Robison on a regular basis. However, my one visit gave me everything I would ever want from a doctor visit. Highly recommended.

( I suggest this is for financial reasons, of course) I always left with lots of questions. I was misdiagnosed by the practice. (Told I wasn't healing when I was) Dr Robinson (though probably qualified) spends a good part of the visit talking to his recorder (so it's hard to talk to him) I was charged for work that wasn't done, which I had to remind 2 of them to get a refund. I was told on one visit I didn't bring in the right shoes for him to see me walk in. So the next visit I brought in 2 pairs for him to see me walk in (plantar fasciitis) recovery, hopefully He adjusted 1 pair of orthotics, then when I said I had pain in the other foot too, the assistant told me he was with another patient I said I could wait. (she came back with an adjustment to other orthotic) Huh. Robinson was too busy to see me. Dr Robison's adjustments have been changed by another podiatrist, with good results. Avoid this practice! He also doesn't seem very empathic, though if he were excellent at his craft, I wouldn't mind.
