My favourites include their sausage selection (8-10 different kinds), especially the 'Welsh Dragon' sausage which has leeks and hot peppers in. Their roast meats are impressive, and the bacon superb. They have a very good BBQ range, including Chinese, Piri Piri and BBQ sauce varieties. Support your local butcher! Their prices are cheaper and their quality is better. Period.

Well, it turns out it was worth it. This place is dedicated to local Farmers who are growing and raising the produce themselves. After reading 'The Omnivore's Dilemma' by Michael Pollan earlier this year (I recommend this book to anyone who wants to know how the food gets on your table) I have developed a keen interest in buying my food in this way, and it appears so have a lot of other people as these kind of farmer's markets are increasing substantially in popularity. This market is held weekly in the grounds of a local school and has a very good choice of organic vegetables & fish as well as free range meat (chicken, beef, lamb, pork, sausages, bacon). You can also find buffalo mozzarella, fruit juices, cold cuts and yoghurt. The stall holders are very keen to explain how it may have been grown, reared and caught and although it's a little more expensive than your local supermarket the pay-off is taste, quality and ultimately your health.

They serve the best Baguettes around, the queues on the Sat and Sun morning are proof of this. The staff are mostly french as are a lot of the customers. Everything they have in the store is fresh and really good value. Don't be put off by any queues, they move pretty fast and it's worth the wait. My favourite is the Salami and Brie baguette followed by a warmed up quiche. Easy to get hooked.

It has a cafe, a currency exchange, mini branches of Argos, Habitat and upstairs a Tu clothing range. Fresh food counters include a Bakery, Deli, Fish Counter, Hot Food Counter, Meat Counter, Pizza Counter and a Sushi Bar. There's also a homewares and small electricals section, which runs as far as selling TVs. On my visits, I've always found the checkouts to be a little slow, and the Tu store could with a few more staff (the men's formal shirts section was s bit of a mess). Otherwise, it's good for a one-stop grocery shop.

The grocery side of the store is mostly unchanged. Standard big Sainsbury's on that side. However, it now also has home accessories, small appliances, etc. on the ground floor and clothing upstairs. The whole place is a bit shinier and seems to be keeping up with the improvement the whole area has been getting as its across-the-street neighbord Southside improves & expands.

An appetising array of breads and pastries, but other stock limited at present - a tiny smattering of meat and fish (kippers, smoked salmon, pork joints and fry-up components!), dried goods (skewed towards Italian items), cheeses, organic juice etc. Some delicious looking chilled ready-meals (£5 each but probably worth it). Some items were priced well outside my comfort zone, as is the way with these establishments, but there were enough sensibly priced treats to make it accessible. We bought a delicious ciabatta this time. It looks a bit bare so far, but the friendly owner told us they will be opening the coffee shop later this week, and that they have plans to extend the range of meats and to expand into fruit and veg. Earlsfield has been on the up for a few years now, but is still sorely lacking a greengrocers and butchers, so that was very pleasing news. The advantages of a local grocers are that you can select as much or as little as you wish and it'll cost a little less than the local Budgens, Tesco Metro or any other local vendor. I recently 'found' Freshers Village Fruiterers, which is a bit silly as I live by there and pass it…read morealmost daily. But I went in recently and was amazed by what I saw. They have a wonderful selection of fresh fruit and vegetables, some of my favourites include watermelon (a slice for 75p), huge ripe avocados, sprouts, melon grapes. This is the first place where I found salad sprouts - a common staple in the States - and they have a selection including broccoli, lentils and chickpea sprouts. They also have cool things like a selection of freshly squeezed apple juice, and quail eggs. Everything I have bought there has been in perfect condition, with a sell-by date well in advance of anything I find in the supermarkets. Everything is also hugely cheaper than at Sainsburys or Tescos, even half price in many cases. In this day and age, its also refreshing to have the opportunity to pick and choose, and only buy what you need - hard to find as everything is prepackaged now. I don't have a single bad thing to say about the place and I encourage everyone who lives in the area to check it out.
