Very early days for this cheery turquoise painted deli, which opened yesterday. It is a welcome addition to the Earlsfield restaurant and food shopping scene, and I hope it will flourish.
An appetising array of breads and pastries, but other stock limited at present - a tiny smattering of meat and fish (kippers, smoked salmon, pork joints and fry-up components!), dried goods (skewed towards Italian items), cheeses, organic juice etc. Some delicious looking chilled ready-meals (£5 each but probably worth it).
Some items were priced well outside my comfort zone, as is the way with these establishments, but there were enough sensibly priced treats to make it accessible. We bought a delicious ciabatta this time.
It looks a bit bare so far, but the friendly owner told us they will be opening the coffee shop later this week, and that they have plans to extend the range of meats and to expand into fruit and veg. Earlsfield has been on the up for a few years now, but is still sorely lacking a greengrocers and butchers, so that was very pleasing news.
If they could start doing quality pies and scotch eggs I'd be a happy woman. Just saying.
Good luck to The Earlsfield Deli. I look forward to popping in regularly and seeing how it develops. read more
