Very poor selection of fish, served by young people that had no idea about the product they are selling or the origin, whether farmed or wild. read more

Kindly heed my warning. Do not order from this company. Absolutely horrific customer service (or lack of it is more like it). Terrible doesn't begin to describe this company. read more

I've driven by here a bunch of times and have wanted to come check out Clearwater after having purchased items at their (slightly inflated) Airport location. It's a decent sized seafood market right on Bedford highway. As you enter there are lots of marine life offerings but the highlight has to be the lobster tanks. Pricing was reasonable and selection plentiful. As I wasn't flying out right away I did not buy seafood. What I did purchase however was some of the wonderful Nova Scotia fisherman soaps and creams plus a couple of lip chap sticks. These make great gifts for my relatives and my wife really enjoys them as well. My daughter has been trying to eat the sea salt caramel lip chap it tastes similar but I keep telling her it will make her sick! They make a great gift from NS and the maritimes! Priced reasonable plus I feel good about supporting a small business. + Come for the seafood or other interesting take home products. + Fresh lobster + NS Fisherman's creams and soap products read more

Unless you actually know a lobster man, there's no place you can get fresher lobster than at Clearwater. They certainly are the premier lobster distributor in Eastern Canada, sending their lobsters and other fish and seafood around the world, but let's focus on local, shall we? Walk into the Bedford Highway head office and retail location and you'll first and foremost be impressed by the huge lobster pools that are the centerpiece. Lobsters are separated by size and weight and no matter which you choose and they all are lively....critical especially when you want to cook your own and want that "right from the ocean" flavor. We chose two pound lobsters that were so sweet, so delicious, so tender, that I'm still dreaming about them. If you're not into lobster...although...seriously, how could you not be?...there are cases and cases of fishes right off the fishing boats that pull up to their pier as soon as they return to port. Oh...back to you non lobster lovers...my husband actually likes the flavour, just not the "work" (his words) and now you can buy fresh lobster meat already packaged...no fuss, no muss, just great taste. read more

Clearwater Seafoods - from Clearwater to the table - Seafood Markets Near Me - Halifax, Nova Scotia

Not being a lover of fish unless coated in batter I was on a mission for a gift for my parents. Long time ago we got them some King Crab legs and I was told that Clearwater had some of the best. Located half way out on the Bed ford Highway you will see the big lobster so you wont be able to miss it. You think growing up in the Maritimes I would live fish especially when my Dad used to take me out in his fishing boat sorry I guess the smell brought back some memories. Anyway there they were some of the largest King Crab legs I think I have ever seen. If I am not mistaken a box was 24.99. The staff there are very good offering cooking suggestions so that we do not overdue them. As well great on hand sauces as well as neat little utensils. Not only do they have King Crab legs they of course have lobster as well as every kind of fish that you can imagine. read more

Clearwater is located on the Bedford Hwy. We have gone here on numerous occasions for lobster. Go in an pick your feast. They run specials a lot on fish as well. Sometimes they have a taste tester there for you. When we were there they were sampling a battered fish. Which was great, so much we bought it. They will box for you as well for shipping. read more

Clearwater is essential to Maritime life. Unless you know the fishermen and can get their catch fresh from the wharf, you need to frequent Clearwater Fine Foods. Grocery stores can't rotate their stock quickly enough to suit me - my ex-husband came from a fishing family and that spoiled me for mainstream seafood. There's just something about the tenderness of a fresh caught haddock or the size of a newly harvested lobster. Clearwater's offers a great variety of seafood: lobsters, clams, scallops, mussels, haddock, crab, oysters, shrimp, salmon - it's all right there, waiting for you to walk through the door and make your selection. The staff are knowledgeable and more than willing to help you come to an informed decision, including cooking techniques and storage guidelines. Clearwater's has a shop located in the Robert L. Stanfield International Airport for travelers from "away" who want to take lobster home with them. Their website will also help you make online purchases, which are shipped immediately to your doorstep - including, if you wish, custom lobster and crab utensils. There's a pretty nifty votive candle butter dish that will keep your clarified butter warm all through your meal, and don't forget the lobster forks so you can dig out every last morsel. I've shopped at Clearwater's dozens of times and I've never been unhappy with the quality of my purchases. In fact, mussels sound pretty good for this weekend! See you at Clearwater's! read more

Huge amount of live lobster. Pretty reasonable pricing for being located inside an airport. Price of packaging and for frozen peas is a little high as well, but to be expected at an airport location. read more

What's the point of living on Canada's East Coast if you aren't going to take advantage of all the fresh seafood in the area? Clearwater is quite an interesting place since you can actually pick your own lobster right from the tank. This isn't necessarily my favourite part of the experience, since I prefer my food to be dead when I get it, but it's interesting all the same. They've got such a huge selection of different, fresh seafood to choose from you're sure to find what you're looking for. All the fisherman (?) in this place are extremely nice and oh so East Coast. The place smells like fish the second you walk in and I'm sure these guys smell of it all the time. It's such a refreshing natural smell that you can't help but love it, The prices here are fair since it's definitely freshly caught food and ready for you to take home. It'll definitely be worth it when you taste how delicious this stuff is. read more

Clearwater is okay in a pinch. I honestly prefer Pete's for fresh seafood; more variety and the staff are more helpful and informative. Other than lobster it can be hit and miss with what's available. As a non-fan of shellfish, I do find their selection of "regular" seafood to be scanty at times. You just never know what will be available when you walk in. The fishy smell can be overpowering at times, and it's not the cleanest place I've been. Prices are a bit steep, especially for things like scallops, so unless they're having a good sale we don't usually stop in. We prefer to keep driving and go to Pete's. read more

Just about the freshest fish in town, though most of the shellfish is imported. Good prices and there are usually a few offers, depending upon what the fishermen have landed. If you are a lobster fan, this is the only place to be, with a huge selection in all sizes. They also have a 10% discount for military, though only on regularly priced items. read more

My family and I were very disappointed with the customer service of the Bedford Clearwater Seafoods market.  We purchased 10 pounds of live lobster at $15.50 per pound.  Although the lobsters were not seen as they were packaged, we assumed all the lobster were alive at that time. Product was driven directly home (25 minutes) and stored in the original packing in a cool garage.  Six hours later when starting to cook them we noticed that five lobsters were quite energetic but one of the lobsters was dead.  At this point, we reasoned that as it was purchased at a large volume facility, and this was a poor quality lobster that slipped through screening.  We have cooked lobsters at home numerous times in the past 40 years and were aware that dead lobsters should not be cooked so we put that one aside to return the next day.  After discussions with store personnel on the phone we were advised to go to the store and speak to the manager.  Upon visiting the store, the staff refused to replace the product. A comment was made that this was an opportunity to provide good customer service and stand behind their product.  The reply was that was not company policy.  A further comment was made that this put Clearwater in the same level as a guy selling bootleg lobster out of the back of a truck. The staff member seemed to be comfortable with this comparison. The staff member was polite during the encounter, but refused to change his stand. No points awarded for customer service.  This will be our last purchase from Clearwater.  They will probably survive the loss of business. read more

I have never like Clearwater and today is another reason why. In fact they pissedme off so bad that I probably won't go back. What happen was my boss went there brought a snow crab that weight about 1 1/2 lbs, @ $6.89 per lb. My boss wasn't pay attention to what they charged him till he got back and realize something is wrong, so he check the bag and saw they make a mistake, they charged him 2.92lbs($20+) instead of 1 1/2 lbs. So he asked me go correct them. So I went there and show it to the staff, and he asked me go talk to the people in the office. So I did, there was like three people included the manager, I waited like minute or so, they come out and didn't talk to me, they walked straight passed me like I wasn't there, and I over heard one of the girl was saying" who know there is one crab or two", I was pissed. But I didn't said anything, just waited. After 10 mins, one of the girl went to cashier prepare to do the refund, at that point I just can't take it anymore. I said loud and clear" what is the problem? You guys made a mistake just refund the money and call it the day", then the other staff told me to lower my voice in a unfriendly way. They try to give me a gift card for the refund and i said no. Then the manger came out and I said I want refund the money back to my boss Visa card, and he question me all this questions" why your boss not coming down instead me", " why he give you his visa card". I said seriously, you think I try to scam you guys over $ 10, give me a break, I told him you can check the camera, watch the playback. At the end they didn't, and refund the money back to the Visa card. Anyway, the whole instant last like 20 mins or so, they didn't treat me as a customer; they didn't respect me as a customer, they didnt even apologize. I will never go back, not because they made mistake, is because they dnt admit they made mistake. So there, that's my experience with the Clearwater services. :( read more
