The first time we stayed here was June 2022 and while searching for our site, the owner came out yelling at us that she needed to see our golf cart insurance right away. I stated we were looking for the site to park and the insurance was with my husband in the other vehicle with our camper and she said as soon as we got parked, we needed to bring her the copy to review. Little strange but we did as she asked.
We decided to come back this month and this trip sealed the deal, we WILL NOT be back.
My husband showed up Wednesday after the office had closed (only open until 5) and had to call the maintenance line because a key card was not left out for us, which is normal practice for after hours guests. He was told "we don't show anyone coming in tonight." After much discussion, the owner finally met my husband at the front to give him a card, while he is being yelled at by other campers because we are blocking the entrance with our camper. The owner then walked my husband over to a site and said "park here." My husband tried to respond that it was a very tight turn and he needed to go around to which the owner replied "I don't have all day." My husband asked her before she left if he could get my key card and was told "no, she has to pay and get it herself."
On Saturday, we had friends meet us in front of the office to pick up there child that had been with us since Wednesday. The owner came chasing us up to the front of the office, screaming at us about not letting in visitors without paying her, her visitor money. She literally came out of no where. We were outside of the gates and no one even got out of the car. After she yelled at us repeatedly about not letting in guests and how we shouldn't invite more kids, since there is already enough running around here, I explained to her that we were just dropping off their child and no one else was coming into the camp. She tried to back pedal and make a joke, it was not funny. She proceeded to watch us go back to the camper to get his items and take them out to his parents. Then she stayed by the gate for another 3 hours watching everyone that came in and out. Our site was very close to the gate, it felt like she was babysitting us. read more
