My dad lived at the Townehouse for 10 months. We picked the Townehouse as our family has lived here…read morein Ventura for over 57 years and my brother worked at the Townehouse in high school in the 70's. We thought it had a great reputation. Boy, was I wrong. I agree with Bob F. and he wrote his review 7 years ago. The administration, especially Evan and Johnathon, tell you what you want to hear. I just found out that Johnathon is the owner's son, so that really tells you they don't care. If you do not have an advocate checking on your loved one, you had better get one. My dad was in memory care due to his Parkinson's. James, who runs Memory Care, and his staff try their best to help when problems come up, but they are extremely understaffed. When I went to Evan and Johnathon to complain about it a few times I got nowhere. I even told Evan he should go help change briefs as that is what James does to help out. My dad passed away 3 weeks ago and I have yet to get a call, card, or any condolence from the Townehouse. The staff at Memory Care showed our family much sympathy, but to get nothing from the Townehouse management is an utter disgrace.

For decades Ventura Townehouse has provided the most beautiful, warm, and social environment, exceptionally managed by five star professionals who go above and beyond. The main independent living areas have a resort vibe and the dining room and grounds are gorgeous. Memory care is the loveliest I've seen in California. Every room has its own front patio entrance. The memory care community house is a hub of constant activity and has a delightful large patio and lawn area where there are holiday events with live music. My husband and I enjoy sitting outside and talking with the memory care residents. It feels like a real home and a real family. Everyone seems as content as possible. The professionals are superb at their jobs and make it look effortless.
