I had no idea this place existed until recently. I came here for the Pet Expo this weekend and…read morerealized it was here. It's actually a really nice place on the inside and is primarily for the Flint ice hockey team, which yet again, I had no idea existed! You learn something new every day, right? After a long drive I found this place and wandered inside. Parking here's a little odd with a few different entrances and two separate lots. It reminds me of mall parking at Lakeside for some reason...don't ask. It was $5 to park which isn't that bad. Inside the main lobby is quite large with a big screen across the wall! there's three floors and my event was on the first floor. the main floor had the fly ball for dogs and I believe that's also where the actual ice rink is. I have no clue what's on the third floor. Probably offices. Anyway, it's a nice place in a part of town that could probably use the event space. They had a little snack area but I didn't get anything to eat our drink. Would return for other events in the future.

They have a gift shop that is extremely overpriced for the merchandise. VUP parking is available in the rear of the building for $5. The venue was clean along with the restrooms. Staff was friendly and armed security was plentiful making you feel safe (even though entry did not require a search or metal detectors). Good team with nice entertainment between periods. I would definitely return for a game but eat somewhere else prior or after.

This is Junior A withing the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). The players are within the 16-20 year range and many of them already have NHL contracts. I saved my program on the off chance that I once saw a furture star play here on his way up. The Sarnia Sting play at the arena at Lambton College and plenty of free parking was available. There were lots of knowledgeable hockey people here, although I was surprised that the arena was only half full at game time. The place also had a family feel and it could have been my mother selling those 50-50 tickets or raffling off the Mark Kati jersey. There was also a nice bar at center ice, of which you could see another game on the rink on the other side. The Sarnia Sting lost decisively that night and later in the week were eliminated in the playoffs. It was 5-0 after 2 periods and the 3rd period pretty much turned into a scrum as the home team got more than a little bit frustrated. The guys in back of me did point out the potential shining lights for next season as this Canadian pastime continues on. And just down the road, the Sarnia Legionaries (Junior B) were still in the playoffs......

I went to Rynearson Stadium to watch a bad football team (Eastern Michigan) beat my alma mater's…read moreeven worse football team (Charlotte). Had it not been for Charlotte scheduling this random MAC school on its schedule, I most likely never would have wound up here. To say the stadium is nothing special would be putting it lightly. It is closing in on 50 years old, and it doesn't look like there have been many upgrades made to the stadium since then, save for a newer (but still outdated) scoreboard. The concourse behind the visitor section was dimly lit in the evening, and reminded me of a bad crime drama (CSI: Ypsilanti?) or horror movie. There was only one concession stand open that had the bare essentials, and little else. The cheese for the nachos had the consistency of water, and was severely insufficient for the amount of chips that they gave me. Because of the lack of people in the stands, game operations seems to think it's a good idea to crank the music up to max so that you can't hear yourself think. The sound then just echoes off all the empty concrete through the stadium. It's a common ploy by venues that can't draw fans to make the place sound loud, but it doesn't work other places, and it doesn't work here. Ticket prices are $15 before game day and $25 day of. This is an absolutely criminal price for what you get. I got my tickets on StubHub for $8/each, and would strongly recommend you check the secondary market before you hand over that kind of money. Parking is no longer free as stated in the previous review, it's now $5, which in this day and age is perfectly fine and far cheaper than you find at similar stadiums. I probably won't ever be back just because I'm nowhere nearby and no team that I support plays there with any sort of frequency. I wouldn't recommend that you visit this place unless you have a good reason to, or if you're in the area and want to watch college football without the crowds of other venues.
