I'd hired Augustin to lay a concrete pad for my sauna and hot tub about two years ago; two years…read morelater and it's holding up great! I recently purchased a greenhouse that requires a gravel pad under it for drainage, etc. Since I had such a good experience with him last time, I decided to contact him hoping he'd made gravel pads before, and he agreed to do it within a few days of my initial contact. He gave me a price upfront that was very fair, and even threw in the timber frame on thinking about it for free. He and two other guys showed up in the morning on the day we'd scheduled, and they immediately got to work leveling an ~2% grade where the pad would sit. Despite it being a bit hard to access (there's a small gate, then a bit of a trip to get to the site in my backard), they managed to get the area excavated in just a few hours using just wheelbarrows. They worked diligently putting down textile barrier, laying the timber frame, filling it a little with gravel, tamping it with a machine, and then repeating. I was very glad they did it in stages as the greenhouse directions stated, and the angular gravel they used was exactly what was called for and quite attractive besides. The timber frame is staked down in several places along the perimeter with some pretty hefty stakes, and the whole thing feels solid. There was a sprinkler head in the site that they capped off for me for free, too. They would have finished that day if it weren't for an intense storm, and to their credit they even worked a bit in the rain. I was especially impressed that, unasked, they moved a super heavy box of my greenhouse parts under cover that was left out and was going to get drenched. They returned promptly the next morning and finished up the job. Frankly, this would've taken me several weekends and a huge amount of effort to do myself, so having it done in just two days was incredible. Augustin's a great, friendly, no-nonsense guy; I really enjoyed our interaction. The pad's held up great since it was installed a week and a half ago; it's been through several sprinkler runs as well as torrential storms and it's drained beautifully and looks intact. I'd highly recommend Augustin for any hardscape projects like this. I'll definitely be contacting him again should I need more work done.

I needed to have crack chasing and filling on my concrete driveway. This is the process of widening…read morecracks with grinder and then filling with compound to prevent undermining by water and future re-cracking. I contacted several companies who said my driveway would need to be torn out and re-poured without ever looking at the job. Augustin gave an estimate that was very reasonable, came when he said he would and performed the work. He also filled cracks in my concrete walkway even though I had not thought that would be included in the estimated work. Toward the end , he ran out of compound but returned later in the evening with more purchased compound to complete the repair. Really nice guy. A plus, plus, plus work. If your concrete driveway has cracks in it, you should hire Augustin's company now before the freeze/thaw season starts.

Long story short, they're GREAT! What to know why.....continue reading…read more Quick tip: separate your copper, copper with solder, brass out in different containers. It's WELL worth your time. Ever scrapped anything before? I had not. I've been to a couple of different yards before with other people, and I pretty much decided long ago that I'd rather take things to a dump than cruise through a scrap yard. As a homeowner, I started one of those never ending improvement projects, and I just ended up with way too much steel to not turn it in somewhere. After calling every yard I could find online, only one of them took steel for money, and they were jerks. My neighbor has lived in town for 40 years, and he recommended checking this place out as they were friendly and always easy to get along with. They were. Drive past the front of the well signed building, pull up on the scale, wait for the green light (meaning they've logged your license plate and your scale weight,) follow the road around back, chuck your stuff into a pile, drive around the front over the scale again, and again wait for that green light. Park, go inside, tell your plate number, show your ID, sign a paper saying that you didn't steel the metal, get MONEY!!!! Glorious, heavenly, money that you know you need just to break somewhat even from that project that's been bleeding your dry. Then roll directly across the street to their non-ferrous metals (copper & copper alloys) site, and do this again with your buckets. Basically a 5 gallon bucket of copper is somewhere in the neighborhood of $100. Excited yet? Check it out for yourself, know what scrapping is all about, and how easy it really is.

Beware! DO NOT HIRE!!! I completely agree with the other reviewer, and wish I had written my review…read moremonths ago and saved someone else the headache. Joe Florez is dishonest and completely unprofessional. He was paid a deposit of half down, he would show up to the job for a couple hours a day, spend most of that time sitting down making personal phone calls, and little to no work would be done. He continuously lied about when the job would be finished, asked for more money (which we gave him in hopes that it would motivate him to finish the job!), and his subcontractors stopped showing up because he spent the money we paid him that he was supposed to use to pay them. By the time we decided to fire him less than half the work we hired him to do had been completed. We paid him far more money than we should have, but just wanted the nightmare to stop. But after we fired him, he had the nerve to sue us for the remaining balance! On top of it all, the work he did do was done wrong because he took shortcuts and showed absolutely no pride in his work. This "business" is a complete joke run by a thief. If I could rate it zero stars I would.

I was left high and dry after paying more than my half up front, the job was never completed, the customer service didn't exist, and barely any work was done for months. I hope Joe Florez and his business never get hired by another person and that nobody has to go through what I went through. DO NOT HIRE!!!!
