Unfortunately, our experience didn't live up to the recommendations or the premium price. We hired WHB for a move-in cleaning. The home had already been cleaned before we received the keys, but it wasn't quite up to our standards, so we decided to hire a professional company to thoroughly go over everything before we moved in. At $89/hour for a move-in clean, I expected a very detailed and professional service. Our cleaner was genuinely lovely, kind, and pleasant to have in our home, and I enjoyed meeting her. Unfortunately, the quality and professionalism of the cleaning itself did not match what I expected at this price point. During the appointment, approximately 35 minutes of billable time was spent in personal conversation rather than cleaning. I certainly could have ended the conversation sooner, and I acknowledged that when I spoke with the company. At the same time, as the customer, I don't think I should have to manage how a professional cleaner uses the time I'm paying for. Afterward, my husband and I looked over the apartment more closely and found several areas that still needed attention. The floors were noticeably streaky, portions of the windows that were cleaned were left streaky and only partially completed, the window tracks were still dirty, and there was visible dirt remaining in areas of the guest shower. For a relatively clean, empty home, I simply did not feel the finished result reflected more than $300 worth of professional cleaning. I contacted WHB directly before leaving a review because I wanted to give them an opportunity to address my concerns. I do want to give their customer service team credit. Everyone I spoke with was kind and professional. They offered to send a different cleaner back to address the areas we weren't satisfied with. We declined because the purpose of hiring a move-in service was to have the home ready before we moved in, and at that point we preferred to finish the remaining areas ourselves. WHB ultimately offered a 15% adjustment to our invoice, which I appreciated. They listened to our concerns and made an effort to resolve the situation. As a first-time customer paying their premium move-in rate, I expected the initial service to reflect the level of quality and professionalism the company advertises. At this price point, I think it's reasonable to expect professional cleaners who can deliver consistently high-quality work without the customer needing to supervise the process or schedule a second visit to correct missed areas. I appreciate how kindly WHB handled my concerns and their effort to make things right. Unfortunately, based on the quality and value of our particular experience, we won't be returning.

Being a big project, I interviewed and got estimates from 7 businesses. I chose Tailored Closet because their personnel and their design impressed me. They were not the cheapest but I got the feeling that they were the most caring, concerned about my, the customer, need, honest, upfront and willing to compromise with me. They did not give me a high price and then mention all the ways I could earn discounts like others did. They quoted one price and stuck to it. Heather, the designer, came up with great solutions for certain tricky aspects like an attic access right above one closet. This designer, the office manager and the team of workers, who actually installed everything in two days, were awesome. These install techs worked so quietly and efficiently that I could not tell there are three workers in the house. They cleaned up all the mess, hauled away whatever junk was created, vacuumed and cleaned everything. And I could put my stuiff in the shelves and drawers next day. All in all, it was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend Tailored Closet for your project.

Rachel is incredibly kind, friendly, and an absolute powerhouse when it comes to cleaning. She made my home look spotless -- every surface gleamed, everything smelled fresh, and her attention to detail in the main cleaning work was fantastic. It was such a relief walking into such a fresh, tidy space. That being said, there were a few small things that could be improved. For whatever reason, I felt like she was very rushed. The trash was left right outside the apartment without a new bag in the bin, and the dishwasher wasn't started -- small touches I've had with other cleaners in the past that make a nice difference. I had also paid for organization, originally planning to do the guest room and kitchen, but when she arrived I decided to just do the kitchen. The charge stayed the same, which I wish had reflected the smaller scope. Overall, Rachel's cleaning skills are truly excellent, and she's a joy to work with. With a little more consistency on the smaller finishing touches and more clarity in pricing, her service would be perfect. Which was such a breath of fresh air in this very active real estate market. Being a Realtor. I know all companies that are associated with real estate are experiencing lots of volume so that was very quick considering the market. To be honest I was in such need of moving this project forward. What a wonderful blessing we got started right away! I had moved into a new home and with the exception of a desk/chair and a bed. I only brought items that fit in a box. Or went in the closet. I initially contacted Blythe so I can get a design to get some furniture etc. but I had boxes all around the parameter of my home and couldn't get to the design until we went through all the boxes and had everything organized and put away. Over the years we can accumulate so many items that are so precious. IE: just to name one category. I had been saving a variety of keep sake items from over the years that were also in cardboard boxes and felt stuck not knowing what to do with them. I didn't know where to start. When Kate arrived she rolled up her sleeves and got to work. We opened every box and went through absolutely everything. She made what looked so overwhelming a breeze. She was able to help me discern what to keep and what to purge. I had a hard time parting ways with items I hadn't used in I can't even remember the last time I had used them. I even had kept boxes from vacuums and other appliances that she kindly pointed out were taking up space that we could use to organize other items in. Apparently, I needed the permission to get rid of it. Which when I did get rid of them. It felt freeing! We sorted through all sorts of items. Anywhere, from a variety of keep sakes (my daughter trophy's, various photos, bday and holiday cards I had collected over the years), office supplies, to electronics (she helped me discern what to keep - and what to recycle - phew - so nice to know you can recycle electronics), kitchen cabinets, cleaning supplies, cleaning appliances in a closet, to paperwork that needed to be shredded and had piled up over time (which I got done), misc. bathroom items, linen closet to labeling. By the time we were done it was after 6pm and we had lot of empty cardboard boxes to recycle. Even though she had been here for 4 hours on a intense and detailed job.... with a mask on... On a hot day. She wanted to ensure she didn't leave any task for that day not completed. She offered to help me break down and take out every last box (I live on the 3rd floor) which we did. Then we scheduled an appt. for the next day so we could get some containers etc. to efficiently organize the items. Bye bye cardboard boxes. What started off as a 3 hour process. Ended up being a 9 hour job over a span of 3 days. I'm so grateful Kate was available 3 days in a row to keep the flow of the process going. I can go on and on. When you don't know where to start it's sure great to have someone who is a professional organizer help you. Kate is experienced, professional, amazing, friendly, funny, jovial and someone you will feel comfortable having in your home.

From #HotMess to #Minimalist (mostly!)…read more A little bit about me... I'm a partner in a CPA firm and feel like I am busy most of the time. My home usually gets the last focus from me. I've always leaned toward the messy, unorganized side of things in all parts of my life. I even used to joke that I had hoarding tendencies. During the pandemic, I moved into full-on hoarder mode. I had so many things piled up in my house that I couldn't get around easily. Amazon boxes were everywhere! And I hated being home. In June 2022, I decided I had had enough and interviewed three different professional organizers. As soon as Amy and I spoke on the phone, I knew we were fated for each other! She made me feel so comfortable even on the phone and I believed that she could help me overcome a lifetime of keeping things! Amy and I have been working together regularly since then (with breaks during my busy tax times). Together, we've tackled the kitchen, the bedroom, my home office, the living room, my extra bedroom (which has now become my "she shack!"), the garage, and the exterior storage cabinets. Once we emptied the garage, I then emptied the off-site storage (10'x20') back into my garage. Today, JunkMD hauled away the last of the mess and my car can finally live in my garage after 17 years!! I don't know how to express how happy I am! Amy asked me the first time we worked together what my goals were and I said to feel lighter, less weighed down by things, and for my home to become an oasis. Amy has helped me to achieve those goals and more! She is such a pleasure to work with. Her approach is to ask how hard you want her to push, and then she lives up to that agreement. I've never felt judged or criticized by her. I always feel better once Amy's been here. I can say she has become a friend - she knows my weaknesses (anything "cute" - I'm also distracted by a "really good box") but she also understands my strengths and where I want to be and she supports and encourages me in that journey.
