This is a nice hotel, but as hotels go it's relatively new. No complaints on the room. We only stayed 1 night. But later that day after checking out they called me to inform me they were charging me an extra $50 cleaning fee because the room had been smoked in. I debate this with the woman because I'm a nonsmoker. She told me that they found and ash. So I asked if she would send me a photo of said ash? At that point the room had already been cleaned so she could not. And at that point they already had my card and knew there was nothing I could do. Seems like a nice little legal scam they got going on for the off season to help keep the lights on. I'm betting they do that to every one night guest that comes through. I would have given this place a good review but the staff on Friday were absolutely horrible. When we booked the room in January they had an aarp discount, I booked it (hotel doesn't hold a cc or run it until you get wet there.) I was not given the discounted rate at check in. I was told they didn't have that rate and the website was updated. I didn't have the email saved to prove otherwise. My uncle had a screen shot of his discounted rate so they gave him his rate. We came in early, our room wasn't ready so they put us in a different room upstairs. We were in there for an hour and a half with the ac at 60 and it wouldn't cool down. The fridge wasn't plugged in and it takes 24 hours for it to get up to temp so we couldn't store milk in it. My family had rented 4-5 rooms total and the conference room so I put our cold stuff in the fridge in the conference room. I went downstairs and asked if I could get my dad's keys to make sure his ac was on and fridge plugged in. The ladies weren't friendly about it but gave me the key and let me know I was to bring it right back. A little bit later I went down to switch rooms as our ac obviously wasn't working and the lady seemed irritated about it. She went to talk to the younger lady who worked there and came back and let me know she didn't want to clean another room. I let her know I didn't want to stay in a room without ac. She finally gave me the keys for the other room, but the whole conversation was just absurd, no customer service skills at all. As we're switching rooms I can hear her being nice and laughing in cionvo to my husband, but all her interactions with me were just rude or cold. I let my family know to check that their acs work and fridges were plugged in but decided against telling them about the attitude figuring it was a one off off. My cousin's family gets in and asked to make sure they had a room with a good ac and the woman says "how am I supposed to know" with a bunch of attitude. My cousin sends us all a message about the rude lady. We felt lots of negativity Friday night and Saturday. They came in to replace the ac on Saturday after my complaint. The Saturday night lady was very friendly, but the others were not. read more

This is a great small / mid-sized hotel. When you first walk in it is beautiful with the exposed logs and rock, very rustic. Internet service was spotty. Room was large and clean plus well-maintained. The staff were wonderful and fun to talk to. There is a gas station nearby that serves breakfast and a restaurant across the street and down a little ways. read more

Best motel on Pomme de Terre Lake. Note that this is not a lake resort, it's a motel, so no lake access or pool. Beautiful lobby, rooms were well appointed, super clean and very comfortable. Front desk staff was friendly and accomodating. Reasonable rates, too. There is a restaurant right next door called Tadpoles, but do yourself a favor and skip it and go down the road for meals. read more

I have stayed here multiple times and each time the carpet and bedroom furniture seems to be getting worse and worse from a clean stand point. My lounge chair had a big stain on it and the foot rest. The rooms seems to have a funny smell and I think it's the cleaning fluid they use and it does seem to dissipate with use. But overall they are clean. Just need some minor updating. For the cost you can stay at the super 8 in Bolivar and get breakfast as well. Staff is very nice and accommodating and there is a nice little restaurant walking distance and a good all purpose gas station across the street. This seems to be a good place for the hunters and fisherman that use he local lakes. Non smoking which is a plus for sure. They have a fridge, coffee maker in each room. If the place was a little more updated I'd give it a 4-5. read more

My girlfriend and I made plans months in advance to attend the Lucas Oil Off Road Truck races, which were held about 10 miles away from the Clearlight Inn. When I called the Clearlight Inn to make our room reservations, they informed me that the only room they had available with a King bed was their Honeymoon suite. It was more expensive than their regular rooms, but they assured me that it was a very nice room, so I booked it for three nights. When we arrived at 5pm to check in, we observed 8-10 guest hanging out in the small lobby area and the majority of them were drinking beer. There was no hotel employee at the front desk. We had to ring a bell to get an employee to come to the front desk so we could check in. We were given two keys (actual keys) and told that the "Honeymoon Suite" was at the top of the stairs. When I attempted to unlock our door with the key, I had to mess with the lock for several minutes trying to get the door to unlock. Once inside the room, we noticed that we were given one (1) VERY small, paper thin, bar of soap to use at the sink. The small refrigerator in the room did not have any shelves in it and it froze everything we put in it. Our bedroom windows were right above the back "patio" (a concrete slab with two tables and chairs) and we could hear everyone's conversations that were sitting on the patio. The "WiFi" service was non-existent in our room and cell service was only available when I went out to the parking lot. Since we were at the top of the stairs directly over the lobby area, we could clearly hear the conversations of the people in the lobby and the kids running up and down the stairs. The first night we were in our room, numerous adults and children were gathered on the back patio below our room and they popped fireworks until 10:00 p.m. When I got up the next morning and went to take a shower, we did not have any hot water in our room. I went down to the front desk and again no one was at the desk. I had to ring a bell to get someone to come assist me. I was told that they would have someone look into why we did not have any hot water in our room. We left for the races and did not get back to our hotel room until 9:00 p.m. that night, but the hot water was working when we returned. Once in our room, we noticed right away that we could clearly hear a lot of people, thirteen (13) to be exact, mostly men, right below our room on the "patio" talking and listening to music on a radio. It was obvious that they were drinking alcohol because there were numerous beer cans and liquor bottles all over the tables, on the ground and near a trash can. As the night got later, they began singing, yelling at one another and talking louder. I went down to the front desk to complain, but no one works the front desk past 10:00 p.m. At 1:45 a.m., there were still a lot of people on the patio making noise and playing their radio. I called the front desk and left a message complaining about this being allowed, but no hotel employee ever returned my call. Finally, around 2:30 a.m., the party outside of our "Honeymoon Suite" broke up and they went to bed. The third night was uneventful and based upon the lack of cars in the parking lot, most people had checked out of the hotel. I asked the desk clerk if the hotel had a computer and printer that I could use to check in for our flight out and to print off our boarding passes, guess what, they don't have that either. So, if you need a hotel in Hermitage, Missouri and you aren't bothered by not having any hot water in your room, one very small/thin bar of soap, no cell service, no Wi-Fi service, a refrigerator with no shelves that freezes everything you put in it, no front desk help after 10pm, people allowed to stay up partying outside of your window and keeping you awake until 2:30 a.m., then the Clearlight Inn is for you! However, I HIGHLY suggest that you don't pay the extra money for the "Honeymoon Suite" because it REALLY isn't worth it! read more

I didn't actually stay overnight, but I had a teaching emergency and needed WiFi. When I frantically rushed in, explained my situation and asked to use their WiFi for 4 hours, they didn't bat an eye and graciously allowed me use of their conference room. Everyone was super friendly and the lobby and conference were well appointed, but not super fancy. If I'm ever in the area and don't feel like camping, this will be the first place that I call to book a room! read more
