The second one I checked out was also too expensive and the man seemed too eager to get me in there. But with the third. Freedom Self Storage, where as I was the eager one to sign up with them. The lady I spoke too, Andrea, was beyond nice. I was stoked to see our home goods were going to be in a safe place. A few reasons why I picked this one is it's right out the back gate of Hurlburt Field, it's gated, you need a code to open it, they have a waived fee rental truck you could use, and the price was a steal. They also offer boxes, tape, etc. for purchase. I highly recommend going here if you're in the area. Again Andrea, Sweetest girl to have helped me in such a short notice. This is NOT Freedom Self Storage anymore. I despise that this listing even exists anymore, for a once great company. This location has been purchased by Betta Stor-it. FSS was great. Very responsive, flexible and helpful. This new company is TERRIBLE. Payment plans are a pain. Almost worse then trying to get ahold of a person to talk to. I have never a payment over the years, but they act like im a hobo looking for a shed to crash in. I am actively looking for a new facility to store my items. Look elsewhere. read more

They support the military! I stored my belongings in a climate controlled unit for 18 months! The staff are always helpful and they were accommodating at the last minute. When I moved my belongings out, I didn't see any pests or dust in the unit. Also, the staff called to let me know my lock was not secured correctly, I appreciated their diligence to check on the units. read more

At first they were good. I even rented one of their uhauls, but it wasn't cleaned. THe unit hadn't been swept out either. Then they never gave me any discounts for 2 referrals. Then I got a discount for paying 6 months up front in November. Then shortly after that they broke their contract with me by making 24 hour access into 5am until midnight, siting that they didn't want people living out of there. Then I get a 6 month invoice without the discount for 6 more months. So, I am paying month to month for now. I didn't receive an email invoice so I logged in today to pay. But today I did receive an email telling me that the prices were going up and I had to move out in 30 days to a smaller unit if I didn't like it but they won't tell me what they intend upon charging me. There is nothing in my contract that says the rate could change (I just reread it)! I've had another storage for 10 years and their prices never went up. Oddly enough I just reported threatening people living out of their unit and RV to the owner a few days ago. I can't even go there alone now without feeling unsafe, and I need after hours. My invoices and contracts are "FORT KNOX" and "in stone" and this is piss poor and an epic FAIL. Here's the email...
