Bad experience from household move -- what we thought was an estimate turned into a non-negotiable flat rate -- after we had moved 7 SUV loads of stuff ourselves -- no box count -- we asked about truck weight (7 hour drive on expressway truck must have been weighed) we were told truck weight was none of our business Final insult was damaged surface on inherited/antique dining room table -- all we got from Shaw was a begrudging apology and an offer of 60 cents a pound towards the 100 Lbs. table -- hardily enough to restore the finish Good luck to any future customers read more

So where do I start.. we called and asked them to move our big furniture. They said that they are are 109$ an hour. We asked if there were an additional fees, and they said NO! So we were like "ok that should be good because all we have is 12 pieces of normal one bedroom furniture. No dishes, no food, nothing but a bed and table and a couple of living room furniture. They called us a few days ahead of the moving day and told us we HAVE to pay for a third man because they needed a third guy for another job in the area we were moving. We told them no, and then they said we HAVE to because it would be FASTER and less money in the long run. So, now we have to pay 150$ an hour for the three guys. So we say "fuck it we will pay it because it should make it less than an hour to move." They quote us $600 for the whole move. An hour and a half to move, hour to travel and an hour and a half to unload, plus any additional things they need to move us (wrapping paper and tape) So moving day comes and an hour and a half passes. While they are wrapping, WE are moving furniture OURSELVES to make it go by faster. Then two hours pass and we start to get mad at how slow everything is going. So we speed them up, and help, load, move, and whatnot. (Remember there were no boxes or anything left for them to move besides furniture) 2 and a half hours later go by and we are finally on the road to the new place. It takes them 2 hours to get to the new place. During the drive we call the manager and tell them how disappointed we are in the process and how the quote that they gave us is going to be more than $600 like they said in the beginning, and they assure us it's going to be around $600. Now, after the complaining, they said they would give us a discount and still be around the the $600. We were fine with that. At the new house, when asked for payment the total was 1083$ ... 1083!!!!! We HAD to pay it. When we asked why it was that much they said it was for a fuel surcharge, more travel time, and $300 in "extra" they never quoted us, and the labor was $703. So we called the manager, and told them how outrageous they were and how they LIED about the MOVING FEES. They told us there were NO MOVING FEES. Eventually the manager said "sorry" and hung up on us. When we told them we were going to give them an awful review they said "oh well." I feel like they underquoted us on purpose just to get the job and then when we complained there was there was no recourse or care. I recommend no one using this business unless they want to be scammed. read more

Now that we're finished, I'd like to say a few words: I love you guys. I love Trena, I love the crew of guys that moved us out in Crestview, and the crew who moved us in at Pensacola. I originally chose your company because you were local - that maybe you would work more closely with me. I was right!!!! Trena babysat me, guided me, took her precious time with me. And the guys at Crestview, and at Pensacola were like my brothers and cousins. It was wonderful. This was especially important to me, because what caused my move was the death of my son, and the unexpected heart attacks and strokes of my wife. And I was pretty much alone, of how to do all this.
