We have had a very positive experience: teachers, principal, and staff are dedicated, hardworking, and caring; the Dual Immersion Program is an amazing opportunity for students to become fluent in two languages; the Special Ed Department is excellent; the PTO is very involved and active in fundraising and putting on fun events for for students that help to build community; the after-school club offerings have been fun experiences and helpful for childcare. I especially appreciate how the Dual Immersion program focuses on celebrating different cultures and languages. The school has recently become a Community School, which means it will be receiving additional resources/funding to serve the needs of the community. The building and facilities are old, but they are all going to be renovated and modernized within the next couple years (this project has already been approved and the planning stage has begun). I would definitely recommend Valle Lindo to anyone who is looking for a small neighborhood school for their child!

I really appreciate the events the school hosts, and the before- and after-school programs have also been excellent. Unfortunately, there is one concern. The previous office secretary, Melissa, was wonderful. However, the new secretary--if I'm correct, her name is Alma--has come across as very rude. I understand that she takes her job seriously, but professionalism should also include kindness and respect. I have even witnessed her being rude to her own coworkers. Claudia, on the other hand, is amazing, and I sincerely hope that Alma's negative attitude does not affect her. Overall, this is a great school, and I hope this issue can be addressed.
