The bathrooms are the filthiest I've ever seen, and for some reason there's only two gender bathrooms and not a bi bathroom

Wow . . . be ready for the graduation experience I'm here today and they talking to parents like we…read morechildren. We aren't children there is a way and a form to speak to people. Completely unprofessional unorganized funny when I attempted to see the staff name their badges were turned facing them. When I asked two do you work here no badges I kept trying to read couldn't get names. The football field where the students suppose to talk had wires going all around it hazards They miscounted the chairs to student ratio. So where I am sitting is full but across me empty whole we are tightly on the other side. Staff was yelling at the parents I encourage more than one parent we were pole this is rude. They said "you want to go in" so basically threatening because we stood up for ourselves that we were going to be allowed inside. She was yelling at us "do you do you " honestly I never been treated like that My daughter texting me telling the staff said "if they don't line up they aren't graduating " more threats is this how this school is ran? What a joke. This isn't right there is a way to speak to people if you are overwhelmed then take a break Instead of insulting trust me I am not the only parent today upset. Made what should have been a memorable day and awful experience how disappointing Worst part is my daughter was independent studies and someone dropped the ball to advised independent students they could not decorate the cap. Ms Ruiz took my daughter's cap during the ceremony and refused to come speak to me. I kept asking for her they telephoned her I told them that wasn't appropriate that we were not given the I formation and my daughter had to pay the consequences. I asked for them to show me the email they claimed was sent citing rules and regulations after going back and forth with the staff they replaced her cap with a regular one. My daughter was embarrassed because of the form this Ms Ruiz took the cap from her which given the experience u had from the front staff I doubt it was professional . Some of this staff needs to retire they aren't any better then when I attended school here. Do a transfer whatever you need don't let you kids go here

This school shares a similar design as Southwest High School. I graduated from Montgomery in 1997…read more I didn't really have a choice though. The high school was really close to my house plus I wasn't really picky. My overall education was average... What really stands was the KMMI video program. I wished I took advantage of this program earlier. I was involved in KMMI as a senior which isn't a long time to develop a solid skill set. I really learned a lot from that experience. I even had the opportunity to shadow the Unknown Eater from Channel 8. Also at that time Montgomery had a very impressive marching band. They've won a lot of competitions during my time. Currently, the school is going through a much needed renovation. I've had so many good memories and met so many good friends while at Montgomery High School. While the facilities weren't the best I made do with what they had. Sometimes you just have to deal with it. GO AZTECS!

Habla Espagnol? Well, after completely immersing my daughter into their program at the young age of…read more4 years old for kindergarten then an additional 2 years through middle school and being among the third middle school graduating class, my daughter can proudly say "Sí!" She had an extremely good foundation learning Spanish by being completely immersed in the language and culture of Spanish with her awesome kindergarten teacher, Maestra Ledezma, who only spoke to students and parents in Spanish to train the children. She's the best! Parents were welcome to help in her classroom or take home things to cut or glue. The complete transparency and access of her classroom for parents with long umbilical cords gave us ultimate trust in her methods. Her kinder year was rigorous not only for my daughter but for all the parents who struggled nightly to help their children with the "tarea" or homework packets. I thought the challenging rigor would increase as she went through each grade but kinder was the toughest. They learned Spanish vowels, math, holidays, songs, customs, countries and had a costume fashion show for the countries they reported on in kinder. They learned mathematics in Spanish, science in Spanish and in middle school, they are divided into Team Berkeley or Team Harvard to instill not just college pursuits but top ranking University endeavors. They go to 6th grade camp for a week then go on 2 trips in middle school touring San Diego Universities in 7th grade and a 4 day, 3 night trip visiting Los Angeles campuses such as USC, UCLA, UCI, Long Beach State University, and a fun stop at Universal CityWalk for lunch with overnight stays at the Ayers Hotel in LA County cities. Several points during her years at Nestor, I almost transferred my daughter to another school but then that would be like pulling a cake out of the oven half baked so I'm very glad I decided to stick with the program despite politics, which happens any where you go, bullying, and other negative issues. From my own experience of learning French and Latin, those languages actually helped me to learn and understand English better so I can see the anxiety of parents not understanding the methodology of the language program in terms of learning English, but it is excellent and effective to learn another language then learn English. English is a complicated language to learn with many rules, exceptions to those rules, and nuances. Learning another language actually makes learning English easier, strengthening the knowledge of both. My daughter's command of the Spanish Language is equivalent to that of a student studying at a University in Spain. She reads, writes, enunciates, speaks, and sings proper Spanish and can now work as a translator in an embassy, teach English in Latin and South America as well as Spain. Her foundational learning acquired here is helping to open doors and opportunities for a bright and successful future. Thank you Nestor Language Academy Charter School! My daughter's success is your success! There is a waiting list for entrance into this school where it is highly recommended the child enters in kindergarten. Priority is given to siblings already attending Nestor. They offer an after school program as well. I highly recommend sending your child here for a culturally enriched education complete with the enhancement of bonds of friendships closer than family ties made to last a lifetime!
