Completely honest review here! Bottom line - do not call The Occasional Wife because they are cheaper. They do not do the same thing as Stasia. I wasted the money on The Occasional Wife thinking I would come out better in the long run. Now I wish I would have just had Stasia come for that extra time instead. HIRE STASIA to help you really clear the clutter and find peace in your home or space! I first hired Stasia to help with my master bedroom. (We hadn't unpacked stuff 8 months after moving.) I loved her method,going through things with you to see what works for you, working together to accomplish your goal. Getting rid of things as we go to really clear the space. When she left, she gave me a list of homework items. And what she helped us do really stuck. Our room didn't get cluttered up again. And we didn't buy anything to fill up the empty space. But I thought I would try The Occasional Wife since they are a bit cheaper. So I called them to come work with me on my kitchen. They did NOT help me declutter. They did NOT work with me to see what functioned for me efficiently. They rearranged. Very polite, less expensive, and also didn't do anything I couldn't have done myself. Moved all my stuff around (without really including me) and I couldn't find what I needed later. It was cheaper. And in the end, I called Stasia back. We love her. We are decluttering our entire house a little at a time, with her help. read more

I hired Stasia to help me with my office and paper clutter, and the systems and the general approach she shared were incredibly helpful and have stuck with me months later. Some of the suggestions she made about where to put things and how to organize them were very simple but I had never thought of them and they made a TREMENDOUS difference. I think all of us have blind spots about our own ways of managing our stuff, and having someone come in like Stasia with her intuitive and expert sense about what will serve us better and make more sense is extremely helpful and so worth it. I'm glad I waited to write this review because it allows me to be able to share how the areas she helped me declutter and organize have stayed that way, many many months later, rather than reverting back to how they were. I come from the "tribe of paper" as do all of my family members, so it's really helpful to have someone come in with clear eyes and gently support me see how things could be different and better. My husband and I had a wonderful organizing session with Jennifer this week. I had done some organizing myself but my kitchen was messy and inefficient. Jennifer came in and got right to work. She listened to what my main needs of the kitchen were and what I needed to have so that my mornings run smoothly. In typical fashion, my motivation took a nose dive after about 2 hours. But Jennifer was quick to keep up the pace and motivate me to keep going. She gave me some wonderful ideas of some storage ideas and using some spaces I would have never thought of on my own.She also takes the items for donations with her. This is great for people like me who pack up stuff, then change their mind and go digging! I have to say it was wonderful to cook in my clean kitchen that first night. I had put this off for so long saying "I can really do this myself!" The problem is...I never did. It is an investment in making you feel comfortable and happy in your own home again. Last fall Stasia & I worked together at organizing my living room, including my filing system, my kitchen & breakfast room. I decided to use the knowledge I learned & do some end of the year organizing. I'd like to share the recent e-mail I sent to Stasia. Dear Stasia, I wanted to check in with you & let you know I have progressed to cleaning & organizing more spaces in my house. I was able to take some of your suggestions & throw out stuff! I threw out my old diaries that had a lot of emotional clutter in them. I was able to move on & tear them up! Stasia clearly communicated what to expect during my session with Jennifer and her passion for helping people really came through in our pre-session phone call. Jennifer arrived and went right to work. We started with a quick walk though of all the storage areas which gave me a chance to verbalize and set some longer term intentions (I had done some prep and pulled out things for donation knowing that they would be gone the next day!) Having set aside time just to focus on organizing and making the commitment to the session with Jennifer was a VERY effective way for me to actually get stuff done. For the bulk of our three hours we focused on the clothes closet and it is now much less cluttered and easier to use. Stasia was hired as part of a move with our company. We had numerous boxes to organize that had come from a large supply room to be condensed to a much smaller room. Stasia worked with me to unpack boxes and organize everything in the room so that it was easy to find whatever you needed. Much was trashed and recycled. Her way of getting you to THINK about how to create the best possible area was eye opening! She had all that was needed to complete the job. I was able to continue finishing up what we had started with complete clarity and maintained a clutter free space! To my surprise, she even tackled some of my personal boxes that were stashed under my desk! She is kind, considerate, and fun to work with! Stacia exceeded my expectations. She arrived at the appointed time, and we got right to work. Stacia brought everything we needed to create a clutter free room. Together we accomplished more in six hours than I thought possible. I was pleased to learn that most of the things I was discarding could be donated or recycled, with only one medium size bag of trash left for trash collection. That said, she filled her minivan to the limit and she hauled everything but the trash away. Stacia was cheerful and encouraging, but I was the decision maker, she was the facilitator. In six hours we took a room in which there was no room to walk, stacked high with boxes and piles of "stuff", and revealed one which was comfortable and attractive. I've known Stasia for over 5 years and was aware of the amazing things she was doing for individuals and our community but it wasn't until recently that I worked with her directly. Stasia was super nice and accommodating. Jennifer was amazing. I couldn't have asked for a better experience in reorganizing my closet - I just wish I had had more time with them. I would book another session, but it's quite costly. I know they're good at what they do, but when I tell the price to people, they're a bit shocked (as was I). Now, a few weeks after my session, I sometimes think "man I wish I wouldn't have gotten rid of that!" It would be great if they talked you through that or gave you options for dealing with that thought/situation. It was a good experience though and I will definitely recommend them. Stacia helped me get organized. The real miracle is that I have managed STAY organized. I no longer dread putting away clothes because I have to stuff them in a crowded closet and drawers. Stacia also helped me part with some of my Mom's things (she passed away about a year and a half ago).
