On the first day they were at my home all morning tearing up tile. By 2:00 they left without a goodbye or notifying me of anything so I proceeded to go to the grocery store and go about my day. The next morning they were quite rude to me explaining that they had returned while I was out and very upset that I hadn't left the house unlocked for them. I explained that I thought they were done for the day and gave them my phone number so that they could contact me when they were on their way and when they were leaving. Over the next several days they continued to be rude by not notifying me that they were going to be more than an hour late. Great end product but I'm so glad that this whole stressful ordeal is over!

I priced out a few garden supplies only to find they were the same exact price as Lowe's right down the street. New or not, the items are not returnable so naturally I would choose the Lowe's option. I visit this store probably every 90 days and will find that a huge amount of items have been sitting at the same price tag for six months or more. Most of the larger furniture they take in is not in the best shape and priced over $150.00. This includes couches that have been torn up by cats and stained up. Still, I visit waiting for the occasional item that is just mysteriously priced very low. Be aware that they sometimes do have % off specials - but there's only one whiteboard at the front of the store by the cashier that indicates this.

After 2 rounds of confirming via email and phone on my container transfer date, I found out with less than 24 hours notice that my container transfer date had to be changed because of "being overbooked." This caused a domino effect of inconveniences for us as we already had movers to help empty the container lined up and needed childcare as well. They basically told me "oh well" because there was nothing they could do. If you want reliability, go with a different company.

On a…read moreSaturday of February 28, I visited The Green Project, a salvage store facility in New Orleans where all items are donated. I've been a customer for over 5-years and have made many donations as well as many purchases. I intended to buy a pallet of flooring; I gave my credit card to the cashier to pay for the flooring; I made a hasty decision because I was leaving town in a few days, then I changed my mind. On Sunday, the following day the stored was closed, I made contact with one of the stores workers by the name of Jerome. I told him I decided not to buy the flooring and requested my credit card be credited back to me for the $1980. On Monday I called and asked if I needed to bring my card to the store for the 1980 refund. I spoke to the Manager by the name of Jasmine; she informed me that they don't give refunds. Of course, I thought that was ridicules because I hadn't even removed anything from the store and proceeded to call the credit card company and file a claim for the $1980 to be refunded. Credit One gave me a temporary refund, I left town a few days later, when I returned, I still didn't think there was a problem until May 6, 2026, the day my bank reversed the credit claim, and I owed my creditor $1980. Since then, I've made attempt after another trying to recover those funds and I have not been successful. At this time my credit account is past due, and I refuse to pay for something I did not receive. The Green project sold the flooring to someone else. The manager Jasmine told my creditor that I had picked up the flooring and also told them there was a large, posted sign stating, "no refund policy", but this is not true, there was no sign at all posted. The Green Project knows very well I did not pick up the flooring, and they should've simply refunded my card. Basically, this is theft.

This multiroom warehouse offers a plethora of bits and bobs from donated and gathered home improvement wares. One time I picked up an old door, an old timey facet head and some hinges. From these super economical finds, I was able to fabricate a garden gate, using the faucet as a creative spin on a traditional doorknob or latch. I love it. Recently, I eye spied, a partially used tub of tile adhesive and several random tiles. They'd be the perfect solution with someone with a tiny bathroom or counter top that needed sprucing up. You can find doors, windows, screen, light fixtures, tiles, wood, paint, and a whole host of parts that you can't pick up at any big box store. Think of the green project like a thrift store for your house or creative endeavor. Be patient and diligent, as it can be hit or miss.

Given that we live 1200 miles away from campus, the concierge level of service was highly appealing. Unfortunately, the property return from storage was highly problematic. My daughter's storage was returned 2 days late, with damaged and missing items. Ali (company owner) initially offered my daughter a $50 gift card to compensate for a mattress topper that was damaged by another customer's liquid detergent spill (additional damaged items were discovered later). I contacted the company to question being charged for the return service before the items were actually returned, and were instead unpacked on a sidewalk in a high traffic common space on campus to air out from the detergent spill. Speaking with the owner directly, I was refunded the full return fee and compensated for damaged property with $100, which I feel is fair and just given the circumstances. The missing item was also returned the next day. The inconvenience and unnecessary stress is what I'm most troubled by and plan to avoid in the future by using a storage facility where I have more control over the timing of retrieval and the contents being stored. I initially chose Attic space for the convenience of not having to personally haul property to and from a storage unit, however in hindsight doing so would have been much more convenient, affordable, and less stressful and time consuming.

If you're like me (or any New Orleanian for that matter!) you know our closets are constantly spilling over with Mardi Gras costumes, wigs, Saints gear and just about everything else we collect during festival season. I was able to pack up all my Mardi Gras gear to make extra room in my closets and send it to a storage unit all with a click of a button. Basically the Uber of on-demand-storage, Attic Space is providing such a cool service that takes all the stress out of traditional storage and the process.
