Clear the Clutter is incredible. The results are amazing, and the process is as painless as…read morepossible. Our house has a ton of ground level storage that was filled to the brim with, well, clutter. Basically, I had been acquiring stuff my whole life, and just moving with it, never downsizing. It reached an overwhelming and unsustainable level. The issue was compounded when my parents cleaned out their own home and literally shipped me boxes of family mementos I had no idea what to do with. We're talking floor to ceiling packed boxes that needed to be gone through. Stasia has absolutely found her calling. First, the results: in an unbelievably short amount of time, she helped me get down to about 1/10th of the original amount of stuff, maybe less. Every item I own is now something I have actively chosen. Second: Nothing goes to waste. Most of my stuff was in great condition and usable, just does not have a place in my life. Stasia personally hauled everything like that to Bridge House, and helped me freecycle the rest. She also could have helped me sell some of my items, but I chose not to go that route. Third: Stasia does the hard labor! She was able to move things I couldn't, strip some obsolete text books I wasn't strong enough to strip so that they could meet city standards for recycling (which she researched), etc. Fourth: Stasia makes everything unbelievably easy. I have ADD and am basically incapable of any level of organization. She establishes piles, then boxes, hauls, and disposes of items as I sort them. Stasia is also great at keeping me focused, knowing where to start, and basically everything else I am personally terrible at. She literally even made sure I was drinking enough water while working hard. Fifth: Stasia is totally not judgmental. There have been moments in our work together that I have felt a little insane struggling with whether or not to part with certain items, but she's totally unflappable. I have a feeling she's seen it all. Sixth: The experience is empowering. Stasia will not express an opinion unless asked (and sometimes even then) as to whether something should be kept, but creates an environment in which it is comfortable and possible for you to make efficient decisions for yourself. Clear the Clutter isn't just worth the money, it's actually an excellent value. I can't recommend this service enough!

Stacia is amazing!…read more My boyfriend and I had moved into our new home a few months ago and everything was going smooth until he got busy with work. We had one room left full of assorted stuff that needed to be unpacked, organized, and put away in their respective rooms. By myself I was overwhelmed. There was just too much that needed to be done so I found Clear the Clutter here on Yelp and gave Stacia a call. She arrived on time for our appointment and we went straight to work! She was very sweet and understanding about the chaotic mess in my spare room/art studio and was very methodical in her organization. Stacia had advised the 3-hour appointment for first-timers. I was skeptical at first, I didn't know if we could finish the entire room. The time passed by so quickly and when it was up the room was completely finished! At the end we had a surprising amount of recycling! Stacia helped break down boxes and brought it all outside. She also took away any donations I had including a large dresser! When Stacia had arrived I had a junk room. When she left I had the spare room and art studio I always wanted! Thank you Stacia!

She supported us with this difficult decision and helped us navigate the process of letting it go. Not all real estate agents are created equal; not even close. Katie is the most knowledgeable, organized, personable, and strategy-oriented real estate agent I have ever known. Additionally, she is highly educated and I believe that her background in statistics makes a difference. We got my house under contract for asking price. When the buyers' inspection report came up with major repairs, Katie managed them when I left town. She has a short list of great people she calls on when help is needed, from staging to home improvements. Again, I can't imagine that there is one other real estate agent in the entire country that is better than Katie. If you choose her to be your agent, you definitely won't regret it.

I should know as I have now completed two successful sales with this company - a small business with a huge heart and unyielding work ethic. My first transaction took place when the firm was in its early stages, and it was not a conventional sale. I was an out-of-state property owner looking to sell an unusual home in a part of town that was dealing with a lot of inventory and rapid change. Alison found the perfect buyer who happened not to have the perfect credentials to buy a home. Alison did not let that deter either party, however. She worked out a brilliant rent-to-own contract that provided a steady income for me while the client obtained financing, and helped me to sell the home successfully in under two years. My second transaction was slightly more typical. About two years ago, I again found myself being an out-of-state homeowner of a large house in Lakewood South. The home was just beginning to show signs of age as major rains and floods hit New Orleans. There was damage to part of one of the buildings that would have spelled nightmare for me had I not had Troy, who is also one of the most trustworthy, hardworking, and friendly human beings in the Greater New Orleans area. He arranged for a construction crew not only to patch up the issues but also to add improvements to the home, which I'm certain helped to sell it. All done with the proper permits and all for extraordinarily reasonable prices. Then both Troy and Alison helped to represent my interests with buyers who were aggressively trying to squeeze every last penny out of the deal. They used smart language in the counter offer that offered a fair solution to both the buyer and seller side of the transaction. However, the way the Barrios Real Estate Group helped during my moving out preparations is what is most impressive and memorable. Again, I live 1,300 miles away from this home, so traveling to the property to clean it out and pack my belongings wasn't going to be easy, especially over Memorial Day Weekend, the only time I could have a few days off work to do it. But with the Barrios Real Estate Group on my side, I didn't have to worry! They found friendly, inexpensive, and efficient vendors to deal with the clean-up, as well as storing and moving our remaining belongings. In addition, they found a title service company that was no-nonsense and accommodating. They even helped me to get some cash for some leftover furniture items that I didn't want! I can't say enough nice things about this small business with big talent and big impact. Throughout they are friendly and act intelligently, always with the client-friendly outcome in mind. They serve a diverse group of neighborhoods, price points, and types of housing. Their knowledge of and passion for real estate in New Orleans is amazing. I give them my highest recommendation.
