Move Your Hyde Power Yoga - Studio owner Missy

Move Your Hyde Power Yoga

Hyde Park

This is the best yoga studio I've tried in Cincinnati. It may not be quite as perfectly branded and…read moreshiny as some of the other studios, but the quality of teaching is much better and it's a much more comfortable space. The studio is heated as appropriate for power yoga (usually should be 85ish) compared to many studios around town that heat to 100-110, which may be appropriate for hot 26/bikram, but makes it almost impossible to actually work the way power yoga requires. I don't want to feel like I'm going to faint! You won't find the heat oppressive at Move Your Hyde. It's a very irreverent space and the teachers don't take themselves (or the yoga) too seriously -- after all, the point is to get more flexible in your mind. They offer great modifications and a variety of personalities and approaches between the instructors, but all with a solid Baptiste style power yoga core. I highly recommend it! One thing I haven't encountered before at a yoga studio is other students' unwillingness to make space for someone else's mat in their row. If a class is full you really do have to pack in, which is fine with me. It does seem like most of the people in the room are reluctant to shift and make space for their neighbor and rather hope others will do it instead. Not super welcoming when you're new to a space. I am always happy to move with a smile and without hesitation so that someone else can join us. But the teachers are all lovely and welcoming and very skilled for the most part. Give it a try!

Never in my life have I worked so hard while feeling so great inside. The power yoga classes at…read moreCovington Yoga are challenging yet fun at the same time. My boyfriend often comments about how every time I return from yoga class with my hair plastered in sweat that I'm the most at peace he ever sees me. I never knew backbends and handstands could feel so good. I love going to the classes here so much, I volunteered to build the website (in exchange for some classes) just to make sure the word got out into the community. Charlotte, the main instructor, has traveled the globe honing her skills as a yoga teacher. Classes range from restorative yoga for people with health conditions, to general yoga directed to beginners and intermediate level students, and power yoga (or advanced) for students who have been practicing for some time. Conveniently located just blocks from MainStrasse in Covington, I highly recommend this studio for new and experienced students. Your first two classes are free, so just check out the schedule on the website to choose the class that best fits your needs.

I was relatively new to yoga and pilates when I discovered Covington Yoga. It has a welcoming,…read moreintimate feel to it, and I immediately felt comfortable. There are several classes offered during the week, and the location is easy to find. Parking is typically available, especially after business hours. The instructors are friendly and always offer options that are more/less challenging to accommodate varying levels of ability in the class. The space is cozy but big enough to allow for a full class. Most of all, the classes are challenging and relaxing. I always leave feeling stronger and more centered, and I look forward to returning.
