This spot is such a little gem! I live nearby so it is so convenient to pop in and grab a latte. Every time I visit I'm greeted by warm and friendly staff and my coffee is always delicious. Nice that a smaller place offers a variety of syrups and alternative milks. While your coffee is being made you can browse around the store. This is my go to spot for gifting. The assortment of cookbooks, spices and rubs, and gourmet treats mean that I can find just about anyone something from here. I love their selection of local Tampa and Seminole heights products. I now own a couple Seminole heights tea towels and Tampa whiskey glasses because they caught my eye when visiting on different occasions. I have shopped for Father's Day here, a baby shower, and Christmas. They have great selection and variety of items they bring in and carry. The other side is full of skincare, hair care, and everything in between. They have huge selections for both men and women and their selection is impressive. Fresh and clean and spa-esque! This store is full of nice toiletries like soap, facial cleansers, make up, scrubs, candles, perfumes, and kitchen and unique housewares. This is a great place to pick up a nice present. They also gift wrap your purchase for you. I met the owner who was very nice and welcoming. Cleanse is a local gem! It's my go to for bougie personal care products. We LOVE their various bath salts - and are regularly in to get refills. I've also shown up here on my way to a bridal shower and been like "Greg help me, I forgot to get a gift!" and he whips up some beautifully themed package and wraps it up all nice for me. The prices are higher than you will find in Target or on Amazon, but the products are great quality and you can't beat the customer service. read more

This isn't really my type of place, so I'm rating it as a place to purchase gifts for my wife. They have a wide variety of fresh handcrafted soaps, lotions, candles, kitchen wares, etc. The staff is very friendly, offered good advice, and are exactly the kind of people I'm glad to give business to. One huge plus to me is that unlike mall staples such as Bath and Body Works, Cleanse smells clean, not like a perfume truck crashed into a chemical plant. Every time I enter this shop, I think 'I need to come here more!' The atmosphere is clean and relaxing. The Owner is very friendly and helpful. My last Saturday visit they even had some spiked apple cider to treat their clientele. This is a great spot to pick up unique housewarming gifts, hostess gifts, gifts for hard-to-please people, etc. They have an eclectic assortment of quality name brands in soaps, body sprays, lotions, miscellaneous grooming products, candles, greeting cards, and even small housewares. I find that is hard for me to leave this store without picking up something to pamper myself with, too. Prices are in line with what you would expect to pay for a better line of products. They do an excellent job of wrapping gifts, so I highly recommend them for easy holiday shopping. Support locally owned small businesses and come pay them a visit! read more

Cleanse is a great opportunity to support a local/neighborhood retailer. Shoppers will find face and body wash products, candles and some limited home goods. Common mid-price brands are available - such as Bliss, Pre de Provence, Philosophy and Tag. A nice shop to explore for gift giving. Organized and clean. For me, the drawback is the name - "Apothecary" - for those who have experienced more sophisticated 'drugstores' in larger cities you might be surprised by the lack of diversity (no cosmetics, perfume, herbal tinctures - and no pharmacist!). So, while this is definitely a nice addition to Florida Ave and will serve locals/those in the area well, personally, I wouldn't go out of my way since the experience was not unique enough. read more

I bid on a basket from Cleanse Apothecary from the Rock the Dock event put on by Chapters Health and won. The proceeds from the event go toward activities and requests for hospice patients. When I opened the basket, which I paid a substantial amount for since it was going towards a great cause, I found a tumbler for hot and cold drinks. I noticed a piece of the locking piece inside the cup as it had broken off and the top would not close securely. I called and spoke with the manager, Greg asking for a new top but he refused saying the tumbler was fine when it left his store and I had no receipt. You do not get a receipt for an auction basket you bid on. Not sure how the piece could break off if it was secured and locked. It looked to be an older cup as the paper around the top had faded the actual cup when I peeled it off so it must have been something that had been in the store for awhile and he wanted to get rid of it. I was not asking for much just a new lid with a working lock piece on the lid. Such a shame since the proceeds went to support hospice programs. Poor customer service in my opinion. read more

They carry clean make up, soap, and lotion brands, sleep wear, socks, CBD products, LAfco diffusers and candles, essential oils, hair care, precious Christmas ornaments, and more. I have wanted to visit Cleanse for some time now. Shame on me for living in Seminole Heights for 2 years and never venturing over. Upon entering, I was surprised at how big the shop is and the variety of products. I had a great time walking around smelling all of the candles and bath products. I ended up making a few impulse purchases of Christmas napkins, an owl ornament, and some bath products. The owner was extremely helpful and friendly. Cleanse is going to be my go to spot for smelly good items going forward! read more

This business makes so much sense, or should that be scents? Beautiful soaps made by hand, scrumptious scrubs to leave your skin glowing and all sorts of lotions to make your look and feel smooth, soft and even sparkly are stocked throughout this one-of-a-kind shop. Despite the name, not everything sold here is for the primary purpose of leaving you feeling cleaner and fresher. There are also holiday items, scented candles, beautiful books about cooking, decorating and entertaining along with health and beauty products for both men and women. After shopping here for the first time I could not wait to shower. But a lunch appointment and other commitments forced me to postpone my personal product test a few more hours before the pouring, foaming, scrubbing and soothing could begin. It was well worth the wait. I tried three products and all proved to be nicely - and not too powerfully -scented and capable of making my skin look, feel and seem less dry. Bravo. It will be a treat to continue to explore and experience the products offered here, many of which I am not at all familiar with, and, hopefully, the results will keep that glow going. read more

Have been using Cleanse since shortly after they opened. I try to spend my money in my neighborhood and this shop is in the center of Seminole Heights and the owners, Greg & Terry, live less than a mile from me. I have some painful skin issues and Greg is wonderful about helping me to find products that, not only don't exacerbate my problems, but help deal with my problems. Greg always remembers my name and what my issues are. That sounds somewhat puerile but it doesn't happen much anymore. All products and scents in the store are natural which is great because I am allergic to many petroleum based scents. I can break a three minute mile running through department store perfume sections. I walk into cleanse and saunter around enjoying the lovely scents. Prices are very reasonable and selection wide. They keep adding new products. Great store, great people! read more

I have wanted to visit Cleanse since they opened. Thankfully my thoughtful friend Katy T bought me the best sugar scrub ever for my birthday and once I was hooked I had to come to Cleanse to get more. I love everything about this store. I'm a sucker for products but sometimes there is too much to look at and choose from so I give up. Cleanse is not like that. I love that they have a variety of quality products but the store set up is simple and not overwhelming. The flow of the store is really nice too, in the front when you walk in it is all products for your body, in the next room is home fragrance which leads into the back room which is home accessories (well done). Greg , the owner, was there when I visited and was SUPER helpful and friendly. Not only did he walk me through the store and help me find what I was looking for but he also gave me a lot of fun samples to take home (ps: I have loved every single sample he gave me and I can't wait to go back and get more). I came to Cleanse to get more of the Primal Sugar Whip. If you like sugar scrubs I highly recommend this product. It's the best sugar scrub I have tried and it smells amazing. I think people tend to think that shopping local can be more expensive but Cleanse has the same pricing that you would pay online (maybe $1 difference). Personally I would rather support local business and have the experience of browsing in a store vs. buying something online and paying for shipping. I also purchased a Voluspa candle while there. These candles are great and worth every penny. Not only are they very aesthetically pleasing but the fragrances are so unique and travel throughout your entire house (plus they last long). I choose the Goji Tarocco Orange and have not been disappointed. I had a great shopping experience at Cleanse and loved the time Greg spent with me to talk about the products. Everything in the store, all makeup, all products are CRUELTY-FREE!!!!!! YAY! Love that about this place! If it's true and he wasn't trying to shut me up... More on that later... One thing that really irritated me though, was NOTHING is labeled for the price, and the man at the register in the store side where all the bath items were, was more preoccupied in what he was doing, the man in the coffee side was more helpful. I had to ask about the candles price and was unsure of what I heard in his unintelligible mumblings, so I said, "$60 or $16?" genuinely confused, and he was like "..sixty..". We continued to browse some more, me having to ask several more times the prices on all the unmarked items (pet peeve for my husband, when not marked, so he just followed me around). I scoped out the clearance rack for items that were marked down to 75% off, and we ended up getting a few bowls that used to be around $11 and then rang up to $2.50 each, and we got some Key Lime chapstick by the register for like $5... and once my husband opened his wallet to pull out one of the 100 dollar bills, he perked right up, and had a much better attitude towards us. It was actually kind of ridiculous, crap you'd see pulled in a movie. That irritated me. I give them positive stars for being a quaint little shop containing ALL cruelty-free products, as said the grumpy-turned helpful employee, despite many products not being labeled with the little bunny that signals cruelty-free/no animal testing labels. So I hope he wasn't just saying that everything was cruelty-free just to placate me and shut me up from asking about every item I was interested in's: -price -cruelty free brand or not. They did have an amazing Lavender fragrance that was divine, I might want that for lowering stress/anxiety when traveling, it's good to have. Maybe I will be back to scope it out and hope there is a different employee, but realistically we will probably only come back in here if we are already in the Blind Tiger that this place shares an open wall with. read more

The gentleman working offered me complimentary pomegranate champagne while I shopped since they had an event the night before. It was lovely. I got so overwhelmed with the selection of oils for the Lampe Berger that I ended up getting a gift card for her so that she could pick her own fragrance. Friendly, helpful and sweet staff every time I have stepped into this shop. Love their "stuff"! The variety of products is fabulous and met all of my needs. If they didn't have the fragrance I wanted, the owner (Greg) called me as soon as it arrived so that I could have exactly what I wanted. You couldn't ask for a more gracious and helpful host as you tour the store and take in all the goodies. This is the only place that I have found in the Tri-County area that carries the Lampe Berger oil so I am a happy girl now. Cleanse Apothecary is top on my list! read more
