It was a great spot. Comparable to any other place in this town but with very helpful people, and very clean too.

So I took my coat in to get dry cleaned and sewn. I called a week from drop off which was written…read moreon my receipt card as the date to retrieve the dresses. First, there was a lot of yelling and confusion about how " THEY WILL CALL ME WHEN ITS DONE AND THEY SAID THAT!" But I had four dresses to pick up other the coat that needed sewing. So, then the owner called me back saying the dresses WERE ready but the person that does sewing still had the coat. That was fine, I waited. Today I get the call to collect my stuff. Not only is the coat not sewn but still has all the holes in the lining under the sleeve. They tackilly made some OTHER sewing decisions and sewed where there was no problem and in some weird haphazard way. It's bad work and looks bad. AND the coat smells like a smokers house. So I have spent $27 for the coat /$77 in total dollars for my coat to have no sewing, wrong sewing and to smell like nicotine trash. When I called back they were like well bring it back in "I don't mean to be rude but I don't know what to tell you." I said I don't have time to and will just sew it myself because clearly they don't care and don't know wtf. They called back a bunch of times after I hung up and so I blocked the number. Vienna cleaners on Magnolia. Don't bring things you care about to there. Nothing nice at least.

Was returned with what looked like dust or mold or food staining the collar. The employees said sorry, they were not sure what went wrong and they gave it another cleaning. Fantastic, no problem. The coat came back exactly the same. The owner came out to tell me that the reason I had these new visual mars was because the coat was old, though you couldn't see it beforehand the fabric had been worn down, there was nothing to do for it. This all made sense but why, when receiving a clearly old coat, would you not mention "Hey, this coat looks old. It may have some damage that you can't see and will become permanently noticeable if we run it through. You still want to do this?" This owner didn't seem to get my point. He instead showed me other areas that were damaged and kept trying to show me other people's clothes that have come back looking worse than when they went in and making some weirdo and non-applicable car analogies. Literally, doing the opposite of helping. If you can't run your business a little smarter you can at least say sorry when you make an item of clothing look like trash. But all the other employees were really great and I hope they all find jobs with a more competent owner some day.

I was a customer of Bellingham Cleaning Center before the pandemic for probably 10 years and they…read morewere great. They cleaned all my dress shirts and they did a great job. On the rare occasion a sweat stain on a collar didn't come out the first time, they'd run it through again and there was never a problem. I don't dress formally as often now so, after a few years away, I returned with four dress shirts. One came clean the first time through. They took the other three back to run through again. Another came clean with the second effort. Left the remaining two. One came mostly clean the third time and I figured it was close enough but the fourth was still not right. They ran it through once more. This time it returned, still not clean, with this little love note: "We will NOT re-clean this shirt again. This collar with NEVER COME CLEAN. Cleaned 5 times!! Perhaps you could try another cleaners that are more to your satisfaction." It was signed "RB, owner". No apology. No phone call, though I'd left my number and asked for the manager to call after the third try. No offer to refund for the shirt that didn't come clean. RB, the owner, need not worry about me returning. That will never happen.

I've read articles about the chemicals used in dry cleaning clothing causing cancer, so I was…read moreTHRILLED to find Brio's in Bellingham which don't use chemicals. I've brought vintage wool men's blazers, velvet blazers, a fine Italian wool long cardigan and all were cleaned beautifully. The customer service is absolutely fantastic. The men's blazer had one of those leather woven buttons missing and they relocated a button on the blazer to help fill the missing button. A couple of weeks later, I got a call and one of the employees had found a couple of vintage buttons at a local shop and got them for me! I went to pick them up and they insisted there was no charge or repayment for the buttons. Amazing. I love the "your cleaning is ready" texts and the friendly front counter staff. The prices are reasonable especially for the chemical-free consideration. I am a absolutely a customer for life.

After reading several rave reviews, I decided to give Brio Cleaners a try. I brought in an overcoat…read moreand a scarf for dry cleaning before putting them away for next winter. Since I have not picked them up yet, I cannot say anything about the quality of dry cleaning. So, my rating is based on the service and the price. Service: The service was quick and pleasant. They send you a text with your order details. So, you don't have to worry about keeping an order slip. Pricing: I was shocked that the total for an overcoat and a scarf came to $30 plus tax. $25 for the coat and $5 for the scarf. I've dry cleaned the same coat at different dry cleaners, but I don't remember ever paying $25. So, I did search online for average dry cleaning prices in the US. Multiple sites cite $12~$25 for an average cost for a coat. So, it seems their pricing is not outrageous but is on the higher end. Conclusion and Recommendation: I probably would not use them again, but if I end up using them, I would request an estimate via Yelp first. I recommend you to do the same. ************************************************************ If you found my review helpful, please smash the "useful" button!
