We had several glitches due to the manufacturer of our front door entranceway that caused large delays and multiple trips for us to Delaware (we are not fulltime resident) to complete everything. Our frustration was shared by Anatoly who perservered throughout and adapted to what the Masonite company presented. He kept us informed of what was happening. His work is good and his price was very competitive. Despite the frequent setbacks caused by Masonite I would still recommend Solid Construction for any work. I would recommend shying away from Masonite products due to very poor customer service.

That's fair for a business that also gives helpful advice . I gave away the commode chair but now need to replace it for my second knee operation. We visited the store again. The same piece of equipment/ model was almost twice the price! When I questioned the saleswoman she said the price went up a while ago. Because we had had a great prior experience we went ahead and purchased it. Upon arriving home I checked other outlets ( Amazon, other home health suppliers) and it has not jumped elsewhere. Hmmm. We love to support local businesses but next time we will price ahead of time and call to assure this one is in line with market rates.

Mike is usually very punctual and gets the job done. However, after some work on our gas fireplace…read morethat involved removing the gas feed at the valve last winter we seemed to notice a slight gas smell but thought it was residual from the work done. This is a second home so the next time we came down and opened the door you could really smell the gas leak! I bought a gas detector at Home Depot and found the gas coupling at the feed valve was leaking. This was on a weekend but I needed to get this fixed for my family's sake. I gently tightened the coupling the rest of the way after finding it loose by about a 1/4 turn. Retested and the leak was gone. Dunno perhaps they were in a rush to get to another job but darn - that was kinda dangerous.

In August 2022, we bought a Country Life Home in Homestead Manor in Milford, DE. We love our home!…read moreAlthough there is never a perfectly built home, it is important to have a quality built home followed with an excellent, responsive builder. This builder is local to our town so we are able to communicate easily with them about any issues that need addressing (which have been minor punch list items). We had a thorough inspection done by an independent inspection company prior to buying the house. The inspector was impressed with how the house was built all the way from the roof to throughout the crawl space, all installed equipment, etc. We have also noticed the difference in quality when looking at other homes built by other builders in the area and are thankful we bought a Country Life Home. Our home came with quartz countertops in the kitchen and slow-close cabinets in the kitchen. The toilets are great (flush everything away with power!) The inside temperature of the house stays consistent no matter what the weather has thrown at us. We have turned the system off and the temperature outside has fluctuated up into the nineties and down into the forties, yet the temperature inside only fluctuates by a degree or two. It is well insulated which calculates to nice energy savings. The garage is large (which my husband appreciates). We have luxury vinyl planking on the floors throughout the house. The floors have held up great so far. We have moved heavy furniture across them and dropped some heavy things, all with no damage to the floors. Overall, we are very happy with our home.

We were told by the Warranty Mgr that they would be coming back in the spring to fix, and requested we sign off on ALL the MANY warranty issues we had. We did. BIG mistake. Between floor issues, grading, swale, cracks, etc., suggest you knock on doors. We wrote letters right up to the owners of CLH to no avail. If we had it to do all over again, never!!!!
