We love our home!…read moreAlthough there is never a perfectly built home, it is important to have a quality built home followed with an excellent, responsive builder. This builder is local to our town so we are able to communicate easily with them about any issues that need addressing (which have been minor punch list items). We had a thorough inspection done by an independent inspection company prior to buying the house. The inspector was impressed with how the house was built all the way from the roof to throughout the crawl space, all installed equipment, etc. We have also noticed the difference in quality when looking at other homes built by other builders in the area and are thankful we bought a Country Life Home. Our home came with quartz countertops in the kitchen and slow-close cabinets in the kitchen. The toilets are great (flush everything away with power!) The inside temperature of the house stays consistent no matter what the weather has thrown at us. We have turned the system off and the temperature outside has fluctuated up into the nineties and down into the forties, yet the temperature inside only fluctuates by a degree or two. It is well insulated which calculates to nice energy savings. The garage is large (which my husband appreciates). We have luxury vinyl planking on the floors throughout the house. The floors have held up great so far. We have moved heavy furniture across them and dropped some heavy things, all with no damage to the floors. Overall, we are very happy with our home.

Too busy moving on to the next closing to worry about homeowners who have already paid good money. Weather excuses why things can't be fixed, but being completed on a house going up. Our backyard was a swamp. They never fixed the issue. Also our swale at the road was a tadpole environment. Well after a year, an attempt was made, but water is still standing in a section. We were told by the Warranty Mgr that they would be coming back in the spring to fix, and requested we sign off on ALL the MANY warranty issues we had. We did. BIG mistake. Between floor issues, grading, swale, cracks, etc., suggest you knock on doors. We wrote letters right up to the owners of CLH to no avail. If we had it to do all over again, never!!!! Emails go unanswered for days. New home ownership was not a pleasant experience whatsoever. And watch out for the other sales pitch...the extended warranty. Within tolerance will void most complaints you have. Get prepared to spend another 10K out of your pocket.

Said he would stop by apparently I don't know what date and time he's gonna stop by, but I haven't seen him for months since I saw him since I ran into him, so I'm not sure what is gimmick is but not liking it and also not liking from where all the cracks are hurting your feet or not liking walking on mounds of whatever's underneath the floor that he put in

It was so exciting to see how Garrison designed our custom home just from our ideas and discussion. We were involved in every phase of the construction and even made a few modifications which was no problem for Garrison. The best thing was their follow up to make certain everything works as designed and they still check in with us on occasion. They are more than a building contractor they are truly business professionals we now consider friends.

Let's start with the good Donnie Culver, the site superintendent, is a caring, courteous, and competent supervisor who put in hard work and coordinated multiple moving parts. While Donnie moves on lower-slower-Delaware pace at times, he takes pride in his work and has built a good home for us. Jenn Hudson who leads sales, also has done a solid job going above and beyond to help us out. She's helped with damage control caused by her boss' attitude and project setbacks. I hope Donnie and Jenn are able to find great jobs at a higher quality firm. If you're hiring, they would be a catch. Now the not good Jeff Garrison, the owner of Garrison homes, acts as if he is doing us a favor by building the home. While we landed on what initially sounded like a fair price on the home, the rest of the interaction with him was combative. Jeff either doesn't know or doesn't care about customer experience, and the poor precedent he sets for his team is noticeable. Among Jeff's more memorable crappy customer service quotes include: "You can deal with whom you choose;" "I suggest that you find someone else...I have nothing else to say." Instead of picking up the phone and understanding his customer's needs, he just shrugged us off. Jeff's attitude became even worse after our last payment installment came in. Another annoyance was the regular billing errors from his staff, namely Eva Amis. Eva appears to mean well, but she checks boxes without much critical thinking, allowing mistakes to slip through costing us money. While not as bad as her boss Jeff, she didn't seem to care much about customer service. Finally, for a builder who should know how to manage a project, it is clear that Jeff does not train his team on any basics of project management. If I had not personally project managed the build, we would have never moved in in time. Furthermore, Jeff hounded us for payments, which we paid cash and on time (with a 1.5 week lag in one case), and as soon as the last payment went through, his interest in supporting us dropped completely. The pace of building plummeted, as did the customer service. Punchline: It's probably worth spending a little more money to go with Graulich or Dewson. Jeff Garrison is not a good person to deal with and will sour your entire home experience. Consider hiring away Donnie and Jenn, the only redeeming aspects of Jeff Garrison's operation.

Renovations in a condo are tricky; there are lots of limitations to what you can do to the structure and building policies to follow. One Call took care of obtaining all the permits and working with the building manager to make sure all of our modifications were by the book; saving us a lot of headaches in the future. My favorite part is the custom built bookcase replacing an old dated iron railing. It looks like a completely different unit, changing our outdated unit into a contemporary home. As an added bonus they came in on time and on budget. We will definitely use them for our kitchen renovation next year!
