We visited the third week of April 2021 to enjoy the town and escape parenting duties and catch up on some sleep. A few hiccups marred an otherwise great stay at the Brick Marketplace. On the first night a smoke alarm battery needed replacing. Husband called on-call maintenance line at 2am but no response by 3am. I called back and Diane replied that Dan would come to replace batteries. Dan arrived, was so pleasant (even at 4:30am!) and took care of the issue. We tried catching up on sleep as the sun was rising that morning. Hoping the second night of our stay would be less eventful. Unfortunately, a rowdy all-night party in Unit 1 spoiled that. Screaming from the balcony, thumping music from 12:30-4am. Not much we could do! The Lofts are perfect entertaining spaces, and we get that, but wish other guests would be more courteous. Difficult for us to recommend Lofts to family and friends -- really great set-up, but when you can't pick your neighbors, booking is potentially an expensive mistake. In short-these units are often rented for parties, not a quiet escape for couples, families or a girls trip. Case in point-the fatal stabbing at one of their properties over Memorial Day weekend. Shameful and unfortunately we would never rent another unit again.

So many welcoming details, such as happy hour drinks and snacks in the lobby. Very spacious room, with a bedroom, kitchen, dining and living room. Lovely city and water views. Comfy king bed. Spacious bathroom and nice shower products. Kitchen stocked with dishes, coffee pot, microwave stove, fridge and more. Comfortable furniture at the dining table and living room sofa. They have a cool lounge and there are games and nice seating areas. They also have a beautiful rooftop deck with fabulous views of the water. The owner of the suite is not at fault. He has been with us every step of the way. Also, we had to move to a different suite after the first day. We were not told until check in. It was a little aggravating but it actually worked out well. We got a nicer , more updated suite. The owner actually gave us an extra nights stay for free for our trouble.

Units are two story with a lot of stairs to climb. You can take the elevator up, but your key won't work on the door. You have to have someone open it so they will have to climb the stairs. There is no restaurant on site so you have to go off property unless you bring food and use the kitchen in the unit.

Emmett also stood out as someone who truly understands hospitality--polished, attentive, and naturally great with guests. I appreciated the complimentary canned juice & soda in fridge. The roomy shower had large pump bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The accompanying body lotion and bar soap were on the sink. The was a separate toilet space with door and it was eco-flush friendly. I did not have a full balcony, but did have a Juliet with a sliding door to let in some air. With the turn-down service at bedtime, a package of housemade cookies were left on my pillow each night. The lobby is on the second floor, where the check-in desks are. There is a bar and cafe. The seating is plentiful and comfortable. Our group's breakfast buffet and tea time buffet were both held in the lobby and were just beautiful. Lovely hotel, lobby, rooms, service, valet, food. Great location and walkable to so much shopping and restaurants. My only complaint is that the $40/day parking (down to $20 in Nov) was a tad high. When I asked for walking directions to the Vanderbilt, the valet drove me in the hotel's Mercedes SUV. I would absolutely stay here again if I were to return.

I quite literally found Chart House by google mapping the area and searching 'hotels' to scan prices. I saw Chart House, looked at the website kind of briefly and booked it. When I tell you I was FLOORED at how gorgeous the property and room were. The building itself is beautiful and historic feeling. We had a parking spot that came in clutch as a boat show was going on. We stayed in the Jane Pickens suite. It is massive, has it's own sunroom, a huge bathroom area with a rainfall shower set up. It was so comfortable it made it hard to leave the room to go do things around town. Not to mention we had a complimentary breakfast everyday, and this is not a holiday inn style buffet, it was made to order absolutely delicious breakfast. Aside from the property itself, it is within walking distance to everything we wanted to see and do. 5 mins to Bowen's Warf, just a few blocks from Thames St. We even walked the 15/20 mins to Easton Beach and the start of the Cliff Walk (but ubered back at the end bc we were wiped from the walk itself). Our host Nicole was so accommodating and sweet. I have not been able to stop talking about the Chart House Inn to everyone who has asked about our trip. I cannot wait to come back and I wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else on our next visit.
