Jacob is a very honest and great person! He kept his words and even though I misquoted him higher than he had stated initially, he corrected me and lowered to what he actually quoted. He does what he says. I took sometime to really experience effect of his attic insulation at our place. Now after more than 6 months, I can say he did fantastic job!! We called him second time suspecting some issues, he came and examined and explained everything and how to check ourselves for future issues if any arise. Jacob charged a considerable amount of money to clean about 500 square feet of my home - attic and under the house. I was in a rush to move in so I trusted this recommendation from my real estate agent. This was a big lesson - ALWAYS GET AT LEAST 3 QUOTES. Jacob came over for an estimate, said he would clean dead rodents out of the house, block holes that rodents could come through both inside and outside of the house, add new insulation, and clean my ducts. He looked at the attic and under the house with me, and showed me everything he would fix. The job took his crew half a day. New insulation was put in the house. Whether he blocked the holes I have no idea because I'm not crawling into those tight spaces, but I don't 100% trust he did any of this. Jacob or one of his crew members unplugged the main heater in my attic. When I moved in I was freezing cold and had a different repairman come in for a different job who found the heater unplugged and plugged it back in. He said there was no reason for the heater to have been unplugged to do this job. After the job, Jacob was persistent in returning to my house to show me how the door to my hot water heater didn't shut properly and might allow rodents to get into my house. I was under the impression that this would be something included in the high cost of the job, but he wanted to charge me even more money to replace the door. Totally ridiculous! I'm sure he also wanted me to ask him to fix my heater so he could charge me a ton of money to plug it back in. Total scammer! When I returned to my home, one of the holes outside of my house was not filled. I told Jacob and he sloppily filled the hole with green foam. It took him 2 seconds and I could have done it better myself. During the transportation of the insulation, the crew got fuzz all over my yard and it got stuck in my plants. He said he would clean my vents, but he didn't even replace a $10 filter that I ended up having to do myself. Jacob said he had good connections and tried to help me find a plumber to fix a leak in one of my toilets. He supposedly brought the plumber by to give me an estimate while the other work was being done. The plumber wanted to charge me $650 per bathroom. This didn't make any sense because it was just one toilet that needed to be fixed. After I told him I was not interested he called back and said a different plumber would do one bathroom for "only" $600. His crew or the plumber (who he flippantly blamed) made a huge mess in my bathroom that was never cleaned up. I don't have a lot of experience in attic insulation, but I can say that the service I got was probably the best service of any kind of "repair" service I've ever had to get for my home. I moved into a home that just could not stay cool even in 80 degree weather and just knew it had to be the insulation. I put in a call and was easily able to make an appointment. Nitzan showed up, looked professional, and treated me intelligently (which as a woman, I am always worried about when I have people come to my house and inspect things, just how life is). Anyways, I was super surprised when he said he could come and clean and install THAT WEEK. I didn't shop around because I liked this guy so much, I had a good vibe. He took the time to explain that my insulation and leaks were probably my problem and new insulation and sealing should help. Two days later his crew showed up, quarantined off the area to the attic, and got to work. And these guys WORKED. The process took basically from 8am to 5pm, but they got it all done in one day, which I was surprised. The work was CLEAN, and the guys were super friendly. It has been a couple weeks now and my house stays consistently 6-7 degrees cooler and it also does not get nearly as freezing at night. No more heater over night and A/C during the day that does no good. I've had my HVAC off for awhile now even though its been mid to high 80's. The house is just so much more pleasant. I have had rats in my attic on several occasions over the 16 years I've owned my home. Each time I have had extermination service's come out and set traps and close access without permanent success. On the most recent occasion I contacted Jacob at Clean Air Attics and Jacob the owner came out personally and educated me on proper removal of old insulation and cleaning of the attic space giving visible access to all potential entry points to be closed while getting rid of years of rat droppings and dirt circulating in our attic. After sealing inside and out new insulation was installed I was able to go up and confirm a complete job well done by Jacob and his team. I was also impressed with Jacob's honesty when I gave him $500 extra cash for the job due to my miscount and he brought it to my attention and returned it to me. I'd observed however, that our decades-old heating and A/C system struggled to keep one end of the house cool in summer and warm in winter. Seemed time to brave the cramped crawlspace and see what was going on up there. You know what I found: a bunch of disconnected air ducts lying amidst a wasteland of grimy batts and crappy old blown-in insulation. I decided then and there to clean my attic, install new installation, and air ducts. After meeting with several companies I decided to go with Clean Air Attics, owned by Nitzan Benhaim - or 'Ben' as he introduced himself at our first meeting. Ben did a thorough inspection of my attic, measured the space, and assessed the unique challenges it presented. After counting the registers in the house, he gave me an estimate for the work. Ben's was not the lowest estimate I received. But he also didn't try to sell me anything other than his service - which included rodent proofing and decontamination. Additionally, Ben explained that he would seal all the can lights - some of which betrayed some janky installation. He also explained that the living spaces of my house would be sealed from the inevitable dust and contamination that attended the process. He further explained that he could guarantee my satisfaction because he personally would be in my attic with his crew from start to finish. One of the things I dread when I hire skilled labor at my home is the invariable mess that is left behind. Whether it's the carelessness of tracked-in dirt, or scarred baseboards and walls from carpet cleaners, you just know that there's going to be a mess to clean up. Not with Clean Air Attics. The process took three full days. I had known about some rock in my attic that had resulted when we replaced the roof - and I told Ben about it. I didn't know quite how MUCH rock was up there. After each day, the crew completely cleaned up the workspace. I'm very pleased with the job performed by Jacob and his crew from CLEAN AIR ATTICS at my home recently. Everything agreed on the contract was done to excellence: they were professional, immaculately clean, safe, and fast - I had a very large area in my home and the work was completed in two days! I was not sure about following his suggestion about installing attic fans. However, Jacob never pushed me to make that decision. After the project was completed and a research done regarding the attic fans, I revisited the issue with Jacob and requested the fans to be installed. He did not increase the cost and honored the initial price, even though they will have to drive back to my home one additional time. Initially, I had other bids from bigger companies and am glad that I did not hire them. They charged double the cost and felt they did not have my best interest in mind. I recieved 6 dif estimates on having my attic cleaned out! Im not hard to please..Im straight to the point, what i expect.. what Im paying for..I eliminate, sort out & ultimately choose a Company..
