My home studio in Florida has never had an issue with members wearing shoes to and from their…read morestations. However, at this St. Louis location, I've been repeatedly told not to wear my shoes to my reformer. Yesterday, I asked a staff member to email me the written policy or rulebook for this location regarding footwear, but I never received it. To be clear, I do not work out in my shoes. I wear grip socks during class. My concern is that if I need to use the restroom in the middle of class, I'm not going to walk through a public restroom in my socks and then get back on the equipment. I also don't think it's reasonable to expect members to walk all the way to the front of the studio just to retrieve their shoes every time they need to use the restroom. I'm a paying member and I don't think it's unreasonable to ask to see the written policy after being repeatedly corrected. If this location has a different footwear policy than my home studio that's completely fine, but it should be communicated clearly and provided when a paying member requests it. As a customer whose membership helps support this business and helps pay the instructors bills, I expect consistency, transparency, and respect. Also, if we're going to focus on safety and studio standards, I'd like to point out that the reformer I used yesterday had a tear that was approximately 1 1/2 inches long in the upholstery. In my opinion, equipment in that condition should be repaired or replaced immediately. It seems inconsistent to be so focused on members walking to their reformers in shoes while damaged equipment remains in use.

While this studio is a little older, it seems to have friendlier and more interactive clientele. The location is perfect for me when coming home from work and wanting to go straight to a class. Mostly, I take a class here over the weekend or late at night during the weekdays. Some of the reformers may show some wear and tear, but they do a great job maintaining. They use a sprayer and washcloth for cleaning purposes, which I actually prefer more than the disposable wipes as it decreases the amount of garbage output. The instructors are very friendly! This is a nice studio to workout in, and I enjoy the bonus interactions as well. The classes are a lot more varied here, and I can usually find an open spot for certain classes I want to take without having to sign up for it weeks in advance.

I have been coming to PLNK for 3 years now because there are very few studios in STL that do Lagree Pilates which I love. I gave 3 stara because their customer service is poor and very frustrating. They have a phone number online which I have only had someone answer maybe once. it is virtually nonreachable. when I leave a voicemail I never hear back. you have to send an email to customer service if you need help with your account or a class cancellation, credits, etc. it's very frustrating that none of the studio employees can help with this or to be able to reach someone in real time. The app is very glitchy and it's all around frustrating. if there were more studios offering Lagree I probably wouldn't stay here jsut because of the poor customer service.

I signed up for the four-class monthly membership, and my first class back reminded me why I enjoyed Pure Barre so much. Check-in was quick and easy, whether you use the app or check in at the front desk. The staff greeted me right away, and the studio was well organized. I appreciated the cubbies for personal items and the shoe trays. Holly taught my Classic class, and she was fantastic. Her energy was contagious, her cues were clear, and she provided both hands-on corrections and verbal encouragement throughout class. We worked the entire body, with a strong emphasis on the core, and I definitely felt the burn. As a Pilates instructor, I appreciate thoughtful movement instruction, and Holly delivered a challenging, well-balanced workout. I'm so happy I decided to come back, and I plan to make Pure Barre part of my weekly routine.

I had taken some pilates-like classes at the local Y, but they didn't prepare me for the world of real Pilates. The P-Y studio offers a free introductory class. That offer drew me in and led to me signing up for 5 private lessons, sorely needed because it was quickly apparent that I have a lot to learn. Though pricier than the Y, the one-on-one lessons were worth it and led me to sign up for 6 week long introductory course. I still feel like a spaz, but I'm sure that with time I'll start to see and feel the effects. I'll keep you posted!
