This place is no nonsense and fast. I have been to this place three times. There is usually 2-3 people ahead of me. It took no more than 20 minutes to get my inspection and leave. Pick this location to get my car inspected mainly because it was close to my home and excepting walk-ins on a Saturday. Location is not the best as it's kind of hidden in hard hard to fine from the street. The owner/operator was friendly and was very thorough while doing the inspection. This is a small shop right next to the Valero gas station at the corner of Gessner and Clay. You can see a sign from the road that says STATE INSPECTIONS, then another sign when you pull in to the strip mall parking area. They ONLY do state inspections - no oil change or mechanic stuff. The owner's name is Tomas Quintanilla and he was really eager to help. He was very quick (inspections take around 10 minutes) and even though there was an issue with my inspection, he told me how to fix it and sure enough I did what he said and brought it back within 15 days and he re-inspected it at no additional charge...and it passed! I would definitely recommend him - he was a really nice guy and seems to appreciate every customer's business. read more

This shop was very clean and the gentleman who assisted me was great! I walked in with my 10 month old daughter, and while making pleasant conversation, he actually went around the room to make sure there were no specs of anything on the ground that the baby may get a hold of - She sat in my lap anyway, but the act was so thoughtful.
