I do not recommend this company for your insurance needs. There are many others to choose from and I recommend you research the customer experience before selecting an agency like Clay Paul. The servicing team does not communicate what is going on with the policy renewal and in my specific scenario, when they missed a critical email from the insurance company pertaining to my renewal they overlooked it and would not take ownership of the oversight or even apologize for their mistake. I was specifically told "I get 100 emails a day" --- instead of owning the customer is not of importance to them. They are not responsive or proactive and are not customer-service-minded. I have been using this agency for my home insurance for several years, but unfortunately, they have repeatedly failed to set up my payments, which resulted in my insurance being canceled due to their negligence. Though Friendly, being kind doesn't mean anything if they cannot take care of business. I have been dealing with an issue a for over 6 months now of paid policies of 1.5 years that I should have never paid for. They could not reach me returned mail and all I was still charged. Now I want a refund and and they said I can only get 60 days back. They don't get signatures and mail is returned and they went right along and continued charging costing THOUSANDS of dollars. My feelings are so hurt with everything else I had to endure with this weather issue. First I was told my insurance doesn't cover a pool. Then I was told, "Oh no...its because the issue of "freezing" wasn't written in my policy. They have now told me that they won't help with food replacement because I didn't have any other damage to my home. I have never felt so defeated and taken advantage of. I had to throw everything out because I didn't have power for 4 days. But they are ok taking my money and not helping me as though I am burdening them. I disagree with this company's motto of "Saving you money". I was mislead and deceived. Agents are suppose to be knowledgeable and informative for those of us who do not understand insurance. I asked for my Son to be taken off of our policy. He was removed but was left on as a rated driver so he could be covered if "the need" ever arose for him to drive one of our cars. This resulted in an extra $100.00 a month for nearly 2 years!!!! It was brought to my attention recently that their is something called "permissive use". My Son would be covered in case of an accident if we "allowed and gave him permission" to drive the vehicle. Simple enough. But it was never offered or explained. I didn't know to ask either. How or why would I? I don't know the insurance business. I've learned a lot over the last month though. I got a one month credit for my trouble. Not the nearly 2 years! I will not use an agent from now on. I will search the internet and go direct from now on. I would not trust that this company would save you money. Not in my experience anyway. read more

I called several times, was transferred twice, and told the agent is on the phone and would call me back. They don't call back for 6 hours and by that time I don't answer and they don't have the courtesy to leave a message. I call back the next morning and transferred twice again, told again that the agent is on the phone and I would receive a call back. I explain what happened the day before and cannot get a resolution, she says that she will copy the manager and I will receive a message in 4 hours! Really, they are on the phone that long? The entire process of getting insurance was great. I received calls back when promised, received info needed to make my decision, etc. But now that they have my business, responding to communication seems challenging for them. I had an issue Sept 4 so I emailed my agent. I had received a notice of cancellation. Naturally, I scanned in the document to him and awaited an answer. His response, "The auto draft did not get executed successfully. I checked on it Friday and it is in place now. Sorry for the confusion." There was no confusion. I gave you my bank account. You didn't put in. From then I followed up with 3, yes 3 unanswered emails. I was asking to be reimbursed the late fee and ensure that my insurance didn't have a lapse. When I finally hear back, he tells me he will pay for this personally. That was Sept 14. Today is Oct 19. It's not the amount of money, it's the principle that I should not have to pay this late fee. I am terribly disappointed with the manner in which my homeowners insurance policy was handled. When my home policy came time to renew, I asked this agency to find me a policy that was less expensive. They did. They lowered my premium by $300. Then the insurance was cancelled. They claimed I was informed. I don't recall, however, the new policy is $800 more expensive. This is a punishment for trying to beat my renewal of $1700 to begin with. This company has minimal knowledge when it comes to construction business coverage needs. Took forever to get any quotes (because they would forget all about it), messed up many times trying to pull a small bond (upset the owner and GC before I even began the project), let my GL policy lapse, never put a vehicle on my auto policy that I requested (been driving around with my family for 3 months and no coverage), and much more. My business insurance expired 2 months ago. I have reached out to them via phone and emailed numerous times. No response. I emailed them to cancel all of my policies and haven't received a response even still to this day. Do your research. I found a much better company that covered all my needs at a much better rate and also have no issues with communications. read more

I would not recommend this agency. We had property damage that required a claim. We made multiple calls looking for assistance from our local representative (Matt Arnold). He never responded to our calls, texts, etc. WEEKS after the date of loss, we were redirected via email to a different representative. Kelli was helpful after the fact--however it was EXTREMELY stressful navigating through the processes without the assistance of our local agent. I would not recommend this Agency.
