I have been coming here for years. First for just nail trims, but more recently for a groom, or as my dog and I call it, "a spa day!" The owner, Stacy is amazing and is always friendly, as are all other staff I've encountered. The dogs getting their "spa" on are visible to customers and I've never observed tension/frustration among the staff. I imagine grooming animals all day is not an easy job! I'm very happy with this business and I don't trust just anyone with my fur baby. Nail trims are by appointment, and she does the trim right on the spot. While they are free, I always give a cash tip. As of this writing, I believe they can only accept debit, credit for actual services but not for tips-so bring cash for tipping. I took my 6 yr old cat here for a nail trimming for the first time today, and she was treated as if she was a regular. She's usually very skittish and scared but she was treated with love and respect, and as I looked around every other cat and dog was as well! So I've been taking my dog to Petco for grooming. On average, without a tip we were paying about $65+ a visit. I was ok with that until they did all the things on my dog I asked them not to and the last groom was erratic to say the least. So I decided to find a new groomer. I found this place and decided to take a chance. The rates were approximately 1/2-1/3 less with a first time customer bonus of 25% off. He even got a free dental cleaning for bringing in some canned dog food that my dog wouldn't eat. I highly recommend Claws-N-Paws. The staff is friendly and enthusiastic. Absolutely wonderful! They gave my Maine Coon cat the perfect lion cut and were mindful of his stress level. We have never taken him to a professional groomer out of fear that most don't deal with cats and they were great. This place is the biggest disgrace. Not only could they not groom a 5lb. Shih Tzu in a matter of 6 hours but they also cannot treat their customers with respect as I was called every name they thought they could call me because I didn't want to wait in my car like they thought I should after they had my dog for 6 hours. Also, when I got my dog back, she was in complete distress and one of her paws had been nicked. I'm shocked this place gets any business at all. read more

Pros about our first time experience, staff was friendly, dogs came out looking great and smelling wonderful and price is super reasonable! Cons: My dogs were super stressed upon arrival and we heard lots of animal barking and "screeching " as my son called it. They immediately caged one of my dogs which we never do so that broke our hearts. I'm sure they do this at most places but at least we don't have to have to see it and watch their look of fear and why are you doing this to me? Another observation that upset me was that one of my dogs was excessively stressed out with this new place and the girl trying to take him to the back was pulling hard on his leash and almost dragging him as he was trying to back away from her out of fear. Instead of immediately getting down on his level and letting him smell her and get some love from her before expecting his comfort with being there. She did do it eventually but I had to walk him in and then she got it and knelt down with him for a minute. As a first time customer you would think the girls would instinctively know to spend a minute or two with them and give them some love and attention. I felt like they were very booked and rushing to get things done. I also did not like the fact that they held on to the dogs for 4 hours. A bath, nail trimming and brushing certainly doesn't take that long so that means to me that they were caged for a very long time. I felt like they must have booked a ton of animals for grooming in an unfamiliar place and they stressed out for the majority of the time they were there. The pick up was also very stressful. The dogs were sprinting out to us like the place was on fire. The girls handed them off in such a hurry, you got him, you got him? My son took one dog and I took the bigger one but never had a chance to grab the leash properly and he tore out so fast to run to the car that the leash tightened up so hard around my hand that it almost ripped my index finger nail off and I was bleeding pretty bad. They came home and have been wiped out the whole evening. I can't complain at all about how great the dogs look and smell and the price was fantastic but I'm not sure this will be a return place for us. I pay double at Petsmart and wanted to give a hometown business a try. My husband wasn't happy to hear my review of the experience and said take them back to Petsmart from now on. My dogs never love to be separated from us but they do it much more willingly there and come out excited but not tearing my arm off when leaving. I may try an at home groomer van for their next grooming. We want it to be a pleasant and relaxing experience for them when the winter hits and I can't wash them outside anymore. read more

Claws and Paws did a great job with Ollie today! He is a sweet dog but becomes a real challenge when it comes to getting his nails trimmed. He is a rescue, so we have no idea what happened in his past that causes him to behave that way. Stacey and the girls there are fantastic with him! Love them. They have done a lion cat on my maine coon which always looks fantastic. They have also done baths and generally hygienic grooming on my dog (I have not had any dogs requiring extensive groomer so I can't speak for this), but I have always loved the grooming they have provided and my animals all seemed comfortable going there. I foster a lot of dogs, and I always take them here when I get them out of the shelters. These people are extremely kind, and the most affordable in the area. My pit bull I recently fostered had a FULL groom for only $18! They also encourage you to come back for free nail trimmings whenever you want!! I don't know any other groomer that does that. My Golden retiever Maxx loves this place and the one groomer i forget her name, He loves her when we go in for free nail trims he gives her his paw and kisses her on the cheek, sometimes when we take him to be groomed when come to get him he's not in a cage they him tie to the front desk and he just sits there calmly. the one thing they do that I don't like is they shave the dogs privates, We just request they shave maxx's privates. I took my dog to Claws N Paws because her groomer just retired. I told them not to cut into her inner coat. I asked if they could use scissors and let her inner coat remain intact. I was told by breeders that you should never cut below the inner coat because it wrecks the dogs hair. When I brought this up to Claws N Paws, they have never heard of this before. (This should have been my first clue.) I made the groomer show me 1-1/2 inches with her fingers so she knew how long her hair should be. When I picked up my dog, her hair was 1/4 inch long. I was in shock. I was speechless. This was right before Christmas. It is freezing outside. I paid $50 for this and walked out. I was so mad I could not speak. I called back there 1+ months later and asked to speak to the owner to let her know of my disappointment and anger. She was awful! Unsympathetic and unwilling to admit they did anything wrong. They should have called me before deciding to cut my dogs hair differently than I requested. I looked up on the internet about cutting below the inner coat of a Pomeranian. The first thing they say is that this affects the growth of the dogs hair for 3 years. It will take 3 years for my dog to get her full coat back. I seen this on several sites, but when brought up to Joanne (the owner) of Claws N Paws, she told me she never heard of this and that won't happen with my dog. My last groomer never compained about my dogs hair, cut her beautifully and only charged $35. Needless to say her Christmas pictures are terrible and it's even worse as her hair tries to grown out. I would never recommend this place to anyone who care about their dog. read more
