This is the worst pet grooming place i took my yorkys too. First i was quoted $65 per dog then when i picked them up they charged me $75 per dog try to say one dog was matted. that was a lie. then i just noticed they added another $6 and change don't no why? I guess because they felt like it. my dogs came back so scared they been shaking ever since they got back. one of the yorkies is moving his face every time i go to pet him. i no they mistreated them. the old man groomer said my dog kind of bit him. another lie and if he did i wonder what you did to her?? i've took them for hair cuts many times and never has any groomer said she has ever acted up. they say both dogs are great. This place puts up a front i thought they were nice and wouldn't try to scam me out of $26 more and send my dogs back traumatized. it breaks my heart knowing my poor dogs were mistreated. everyone of my family members asked me what's wrong with my dogs they are acting so scared. they shake constantly. A few months ago I would have given this place 5 Stars particularly Stephanie. She groomed my mini weenie and I brought my moms dog from Reedley. We were willing to pay their premium price for the quality of work. Moms dog has a basic cut with an added Mohawk just on her head and pink dyed tail and Mohawk. I'm really disappointed that no one told me Moms dog would have a different groomer let alone one with little experience. I can see clipper marks on both side of her body, her eyebrows were uneven, the dye on her tail has missed spots, the is a spot of dye on her hip, there is pink dye all over her face, and if her nails were trimmed I can't tell. So glad I hadn't brought my long haired weenie dog this time, her cut is more difficult. Just disappointing all around. read more

I took my doodle to get her haircut for the first time and asked for a teddy bear cut, not too short on the hair. The front desk staff also gave me a paper to write it down for the groomers. I picked up my doodle and thought she looked good although the hair was too short. The next day I was petting her belly I noticed on her chest area they shaved off one side of her chest completely. It looked like she had a bald spot. No one mentioned anything about it. I also noticed a lot of uneven cuts although they mentioned she did a great job for her first time. My little minnie come here for over 3 years now. She is a maltese and the girls do a great job with her. The gets her hair done less often than recommended and they never make me feel guilty for not being the most diligent on her brushing or grooming. Horrible and unprofessional, went in last week, expecting the outcome of the reviews this place has. I was skeptical at first giving them the benefit of the doubt. I stated on the paper my dog has separation anxiety. And wow just wow. The owner herself had a box of crackers next to her while cutting, my groomer took about 3 or more cigarette breaks during the first 30 mins, rude staff (expect the receptionist). I was told I couldn't wait in the lobby due to my dog being distracted, the way I was told was so rude coming from 3 different women with attitude. They hadn't even started on my dog and needed to finish another before they started on mine so why couldn't I wait until my dog was brought out? After my dog KYLO was done he was so scared and was shaking, the groomer had told me he did not like the scissors and did really good with the shaver, but then showed me where she cut him twice with the shaver behind his ears and chest? Didn't make sense to me, They were still cutting around his face when I arrived he had a huge chunk cut off by his mouth looks very uneven and the last part oh boy. they were calling him a "HER" like "she was very nervous and anxious" "I left her ears long" etc. In my head I was so confused if you can't tell the difference in that while cutting shows me enough! Will never go back and do not recommend. If I can leave zero stars I def would. Trust your gut. read more

DON'T TAKE YOUR DOG HERE! IT'S NOT WORTH IT! There are plenty of places around the corner that are cheaper and much much better. Where to start... I had an appointment at 8 and, sure, I called and said I was late... I got there at 8:30, so, I was 30 minutes late. 1. I dropped two small, small dogs off who have slim to no hair and they weren't even done until 2:30. 2. They cost 45 $ each and they smelt as bad as they did when I dropped them off. I had to give them a bath when they got home bc the smell was not good. Basically I paid 90 for both of them and all they did was cut their hair, which mind you, they hardly had any hair... and I still had to give them a bath when I got home. I have been to multiple dog groomers for my dogs and they have always came back smelling so good! It was the worst dog grooming experience I've ever had and I will not be a customer... and I will also warn anyone to not go here. Awfulllll read more

READ THIS before deciding to go here! I don't know if this place has new employees, new ownership, or what but they have absolutely horrible customer service now. I've taken my pet here a couple times and was always told that he was the easiest, most well-behaved that they have ever groomed. It usually took about two hours maybe 2.5, but a couple weeks ago they had him for six hours even though he was their first appointment of the day (7:30 drop off time). They screen their calls and get mad when I was inquiring why it was taking four then five and ultimately six hours for them to complete the grooming. Scariest and worst part, now my pet has been throwing up everyday since picking him up, so I don't know if they give the pets some kind of sedation medication without saying anything or what, but for some reason he's been throwing up everyday. I will never go back here and just hope my warning helps anyone else considering this place. read more

This place should not be allowed to groom dogs! I have been to this place two times. I took my dog here the first time and found out later that he had a scratch on his side cheek of his bottom. This was caused when they shaved him and they shaved him WAY TOO DEEP. He wined for almost a week because this scratch was hurting him. He has never been harmed nor inquired by any other salon that I have been to with dog grooming. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and give them another chance. I came in the second time today and they only made me upset and disappointed. The person that clipped his nails, literally cut off one of his nail that caused him to bleed! He was in pain and I had no clue why until I saw the nail. I went back and confronted them about his nail and instead, the woman that groomed my dog showed NO COMPASSION, GAVE NO APOLOGY, AND told me to GO SOMEWHERE ELSE FOR BUSINESSS. I took my sister's cat here to get groomed and cleaned. After picking her up and taking her home, I noticed she was still shedding a lot and that she had fleas. No one mentioned to me she had fleas. It seems like they do a good job with dogs, but stay away from here if you have a cat. Wasted $45 dollars for nothing. This place is fantastic. They were really kind and patient with our first dog who had attitude issues. He was always treated with love and came back looking great. He went regularly, every 4-6 weeks and they always asked after his health (diabetic). They have always been great with our current 2 as well. Most of the time they can fit them in even on short notice. I've got a bad habit of forgetting to call and usually end up calling only a day or two in advice of when I want them groomed. I hate to even write a bad review because I have seen nothing but good reviews for this place but I felt the need to. I have a one year one chow mix & I have been taking him to the same groomers in Fresno, since he was a baby. We recently moved into Clovis and I suggested to my boyfriend we find a groomer closer to where we live so we don't have to take the longer drive. Boyfriend was hesitant but trusted this place after giving him feedback on reviews. There were 2 ladies when we walked in, both were very nice but one with pink hair, seemed very antsy and as if she didn't want to do her job. We were asked immediately if we were in for a nail trim, and when we said were, she looked at her coworker that was already grooming another dog, & said, "do you want to do a nail trim?" As she was just sitting at the front desk. Obviously the other groomer was busy so she took initiative and seen our pup. We mentioned we wanted them to be filed, for we are scared for our dogs to get them cut too short. (I'm just paranoid) She came outside, into the lobby, sat on the floor and immediately grabbed our pups paws, attempting to cut his nails while WE held him down. He was not having it, pushing and pulling while she STILL was attempting to cut the nails, knowing she didn't even have a proper or safe grasp onto his paws, so she THEN suggested she takes him behind the gate to the grooming table. She dragged my frightened dog to the back. The other groomer finally helped the lady when she realized she was very much struggling. My boyfriend insisted we left but I figured, we were there, I understand that it may be difficult with some dogs but my dog has NEVER had such a rough time getting comfortable at the groomers. He was crying and looked so uncomfortable on the table, it made me sad to watch. It took only a few minutes from there but if it had taken any longer, I would've just left with his paws unfinished. I did pay, I hate to cause a scene or make anyone uncomfortable but when leaving, we noticed my dogs nails were all different lengths, looked so badly done, & my boyfriend was NOT happy. Our other designated groomers have never had an issue with our dogs compliance and definitely were a lot more professional. Very bummed, was looking forward to finding a groomer closer to me and one that I knew my dog was comfortable and safe. read more

This is the third Groomer that we've tried since getting our son (Standard Golden Doodle) in December and I'm happy to say that our search for the perfect fit is finally over! Kylo is only 10 months old, but pushing 70lbs. He still has puppy mentality and tends to nip and nibble when you touch his face, so I was a little nervous about how he'd behave at a new groomer. The FIRST thing they said to me when I picked him up was how good he was and how sweet he is. A little backstory... my family gave me a bit of a hard time when my fiancé and I bought him since he's so big. They also think he's "naughty" sometimes because he doesn't really know his size (even though their 18lb dog behaves the same way). Kylo has been through two levels of training and has reallearned so much! To hear the groomers say that he was good made my heart so happy! The icing on the cake is that he looks GREAT and his tail was wagging when I walked in the door to get him. Their prices were much more reasonable than others in the area and he was only there about 2 hours. We will DEFINITELY be returning!! Such a relief to know we now have a "go to" groomer! UPDATE: Claws and Paws is still AMAZING! Our doods were looking pretty ratty during quarantine and we took them in this week for a full groom. Our big dood is still a jerk, but the girls here saw us getting out of the truck and ran out to meet Kylo. They are seriously the best!! read more

Watch out for the Groupon deal. I used the $30 Groupon. I called ahead and told them I had the Groupon and what kind of dog I had (a big dog). The lady on the phone told me it would be a "little bit extra"....since he was big. I dropped him off.......they called a few hours later and told me he was done. They seemed to had done a great job with the wash, trim, and clip. My dog was clean and happy. The total came out to $55. I was a bit shocked since the lady said it would only be a little more. I sort of argued with her, but she said that is the price. I would have guessed "little bit extra" meant $5- $15....not $25 extra!!!! Just check on the price when you call. I WOULD NEVER take my dog here again!!! In the summer I usually have her groomed 2-3 times and (petsmart) does a great job, but I was having trouble getting her in due to my work schedule. Someone told me about this place so I gave it a shot. When I picked her up I wanted to cry, the lady cut her so close to the skin, not a drop of hair left on her and nicked her a couple places which made her bleed. I took her back the next day because I wanted the owner to see her, she even agreed it wasn't a good job! She was very pleasant and offered me a free groom for my dog and she would do it herself. I should've done this sooner. I found them via Groupon and was pleased that they offered a big discount for rescued/adopted animals to get their first grooming. Considering that my yorki/terrier mix was a mess when we got her they really did do a decent job. So, I started taking her to them regularly. It was after I took Lily to her vet that I learned what a proper grooming should look like and found that they were actually not doing a good job at all. My vet showed me areas that were being missed and places that were growing wrong because they were cut wrong. He suggested I find a new groomer immediately. The decision was fairly easy since every time I picked up Lily they were complaining about how she was nipping at them. They basically acted like I should be grateful they were still grooming her. So, not really being well versed in groomers, I accepted that. Since my vet's warning I have found a new groomer, Dogz 'n Catz are much better. They are doing a better job and they have never yet complained once about the attitude of my dog. I would suggest avoiding Claws & Paws and going somewhere else. read more

What a great experience! Sometimes when you drop off your furry family member with a stranger, you get a feeling that they may treat them differently than you would. But the staff here immediately treated my dog with love and care. Not only was he shiny and clean like new, I could tell animals are their passion, and I got a very safe and warm feeling as I left him there. They even spent time helping me figure out what might be causing his allergies. I will definitely keep coming back here, for both of my pets. Never been here before. Called and was able to get my 2 dogs nails clipped immediately. But each dog came home with a bleeding nail which caused blood in my vehicle and blood all over my floors. The bleeding didn't stop until hours later. If you are going to offer nail clipping, you should be able to cut them without bleeding. Will never be back! read more

I have a small dog and they charged an extra $10 on top of the groupon for a wash and trim!!! $40!! They should've squeezed his anal glands for that price! Worst of all there were many spots they missed while trimming but they still managed to cut all of my old little dogs moles!!! Which we warned them about!! He was bleeding a lot when he was picked up! That never should have happened... That means they not only didnt listen but never even pet my dog or felt his body or even looked at him closely before shaving away... The bumps are quite noticeable and they were obviously careless because after cutting him once and seeing him bleed they should have been a lot more careful. Incompetence at its zenith!! read more
