My team had such a wonderful time painting together, and the convenience of having Lucky Cat Social Art come directly to the restaurant where we were having dinner made the event even better. Michelle and her colleagues made the experience fun, relaxed, and easy for everyone--even those of us who had little to no painting experience. They provided great guidance and made it possible for everyone to create a beautiful painting they could be proud to display at home. We all had an amazing time and created some great memories together. I would highly recommend Lucky Cat Social Art and will definitely book with them again!

CLOSING SOON! Stu…read moreand Denise are retiring at the end of April 2014, and aren't planning to sell the business, so if you are inclined to take a Segway tour of Tucson, do it now. Our family enjoyed motoring around the historic districts, Rattlesnake Bridge and University (dodging students hurrying to class), on the "Shake, Rattle and Roll" tour. We learned lots of interesting facts about Tucson, and even though we love walking, we had to admit we covered a lot more territory this way and were able to save our energy for an afternoon hike in the canyons. At $70 per person for a 2+ hour tour, it's worth it. Kids must be at least 16.

We did the "Shake, Rattle & Roll" tour where they take you on a tour through the historic 4th avenue district, the iron horse district, the rattlesnake bridge, the pie allen district and the west university district, all on a segway! This is a family owned business and our tour guide, Denise, was very nice! She gave a short instruction on how to operate the segway and explained some do's and don'ts to us. She was also very accommodating with our schedule. You also get a shake at the end of the tour, but since I'm lactose intolerant, they gave us ice cream instead (i can't drink milk but i can eat ice cream and cheese...weird, i know)! =)

I could tell she needed to get some frustrations out! Without a word, I booked us a Rage Room date at The Breaking Point! It was super easy getting a reservation via their website! Many options to choose from. Besides the Rage Room, they also have Axe Throwing, an Escape room, and a Paint Splatter room. Since it was the two of us, I booked the date night package (yes, you can do that) and added a large electronic to break. You would think 25 minutes was too short of a time to go through all the breakables, but it was just perfect for the two of us! It was so much fun and a great workout! lol. They provide the gear (jumpsuit, gloves, and face protective mask). So it's ok if you come with just shorts and a t-shirt on. Just make sure you got sneakers or some type of thick closed toe shoe on! They also have a Bluetooth speaker for you to connect your music to! The gal at the counter was super friendly and helpful! All in all y'all need to try this place! Side note, they accept donations of "breakables" anytime! So if you're getting rid of beer bottles, electronics, or whatever things fragile, you can bring them in! Call ahead to let them know you'd like to donate stuff.

It's tucked away a short walk off of Church Street. Here is last night's program: Carl Maria von Weber: Oberon Overture Maurice Ravel: Mother Goose Einojuhani Rautavaara: Cantus Arcticus, Concerto for Birds and Orchestra Igor Stravinsky: Firebird Suite I was here for one reason: Rautavaara. Cantus Arcticus was the first work I heard by this Finnish composer years ago. It's an ethereal wave of sound; such a haunting piece that is backed by the soundtrack of Arctic birds. It's rarely played by American orchestras so it was thrilling to hear this in person. Every time I hear it, I feel as if I'm standing in a frozen landscape. The only drawback to this wonderful experience was the limited acoustics of the hall. The space doesn't match the quality of these talented musicians. Is that a reason not to go? Not at all. There is another performance tomorrow. If you have the chance to attend, please do. Hearing this rarely played piece is an incredible experience.
