She booked us a car service from the train station in Rome when our hotel was two minute walk away. She booked us on a one hour connection through Amsterdam which is absolutely impossible to make. She had us on an 8 AM train while we were on vacation! To get us there by noon when the hotel would not be ready. The hotels were barely adequate, and we had to have her change one because it was on the complete opposite of side of town that we wanted to be on and had told her previously. I would never ever ever use her again or recommend her to anyone.

Debra is extremely detail-oriented, personable, and someone who can paint a picture based on the details you give her -- truly talented. What separates her from the many other travel agents is that she specializes in getting you off the beaten path (if you so choose) -- so for example you can tell her "I want the feeling of the amalfi coast w/o the huge crowds" and she'll find you a fitting option. Transparently, my budget was tighter than what a trip of the magnitude I wanted would cost with Debra. Like I recently told her, I will be using her services in my lifetime, just not this next trip.

The rooms were fine, the activities were fine but for a 12 day trip only had 7 activities. They could make suggestions for additional activities but that would be on our own dime and not included in the package. The first problem was: to get this trip back on budget, what would they be taking away if I was already feeling underwhelmed. The second problem was: I did some research after our meeting and found that the trip as they presented is significantly less if I were to book it myself. At that price difference I could go on two trips to Italy. They are standing firm on their policy that their deposit is non-refundable - Buyer beware! I have now booked a trip with a different travel agency that does not charge a deposit, itemized every item for me, and made sure I felt comfortable before ever charging my card. Also, my current trip costs a fraction of the price so I can go again next year and the year after at this rate. I don't regret my decision to choose a different company.
