After going to several tile stores on Staten Island & one super store in New Jersey, I found this place had the best prices. They also had the tiles I was looking for at the lowest price. Every time I went I got there very early & received excellent customer service. Joe always assisted me & was very knowledgeable. The other man was very helpful too. They not only gave me a great price on my backsplash, they also helped me pick out the right color grout & trim. My kitchen looks fabulous now. I will definitely go back when it's time to renovate my bathroom. At one point, after my contractor messed up, I had to go back for more tile. Went to Classic Tile over the last few weeks and had a wonderful experience. Joe and the staff were extremely helpful and patient. My fiancé and I had recently purchased a home that required a FULL renovation. I purchased ALL my tiles/grout here (3 full bathrooms, kitchen floors, hallway floors, etc.) They answered all our questions (we had a million) their prices were unbeatable and Joe took his time and helped with every little detail possible. I had bought a house in NJ & my bathrooms were so outdated. After going to several tile stores just to look around & get ideas I decided to go with Classic tile. Joe was extremely helpful. Tile prices are very reasonable and the selection of tile is outstanding. Good range in prices. This was my second time visiting the store. The first time ai was able to walk around to see what they had. This time was more difficult. My mom says I have Champagne taste on a beer pocketbook. Which causes me to want the most expensive... my radar just picks it out. Where was I we'll I first met with the owner Veto. He showed me a few samples that I had previous picked out.. and a few 'subway' tiles and was like look around.. Feeling frustrated and in pain .. I was going to leave. (I had a picture but he didn't seem interested... perhaps frustrated I didn't have the sizes .. which I did he just didn't seam interested. I had my Builder call.. he spoke to the owner... Oo my gosh Veto stepped up to help!! He turned around the whole day!! He and my Buikder Ron of RGR construction talked. Ron discusses what he needed and to make sure I picked out a small tile for the bathroom floor. I got a little depressed when I picked out an expensive tile. Nick saved the day!! He was to patient (Even though he was eating lunch). When I realized his food was delivered.. I left him alone. Nick made me feel better about not being able to afford the expensive tile and offered fantastic psuggestions.. Using an accent tiles. In my search for kitchen tiles I visited five different local stores. ** Classic tile surpassed all of them with selection, price and customer service.** Their showroom was phenomenal with plenty of selection in easy view. Their competitive pricing, which was listed on each product, was the best I came across. THEIR SALESMAN JOE WAS EXCELLENT!! He helped guide us to what we were looking for. He sent me home with three samples so I could see it in the space. Thank God he did because the colors are much different once we placed them in our kitchen. If not for Joe's professional guidance, we would have purchased a tile that would have been terribly darker than what we wanted. Joe also helped in us securing the tile within 24 hours. Our contractor was ahead of schedule and told us if we could get him the tile the next day he could lay it (four days ahead of schedule). I called Joe and told him this. Joe made sure to have my tile ready for pickup by 8 am the following morning. It's nice to know there are still businesses out there that give personal service to their customers...OLD SCHOOL!! Next I need to purchase my kitchen backsplash from Joe. He also sent me home with three backsplash samples to see in the space. Please go to Classic and see Joe if purchasing tile. We really would like to send a special thank you to everyone at Classic Tile, Staten Island and Brooklyn!!! We dealt with Classic originally in the Spring as we prepared to renovate our bathroom. We chose our tiles from Classic and our fixtures, shower doors, vanity, etc, from Island Bathworld, all in the same building. Very unfortunately our contractor up and left us with a monumental mess and EVERYTHING had to be gutted, AGAIN. We had to start completely over, down to the studs. We were renovating one of our bathrooms which was very 1980s. We had already purchased our floor tiles and niche from Joe a few weeks back. Floor tiles were easy, wall tiles were the hard part. Well, we came back into Classic Tile because we had changed our minds after already purchasing the wall tiles from one of those ummm, big box stores, ugh! Never again. There we were all confused and Joe set us straight in a extremely wonderful way. I had brought in one of THOSE wall tiles to compare and Joe won us over yet again. We ended up with a really beautiful wall tile and he was so helpful with the grout selections and trim. These guys are the real deal, from Brooklyn and in the business for 45 years. Worked with Bob, an older gentlemen who knows his stuff and was an absolute pleasure. What more can I say about this place? Just go there and you will see what customer service is all about. My husband and I were shopping for tile for our shower pan. At the time I had no idea that the person we were dealing with was the owner. He was kind and very patient with us, especially that I change my mind about 10 times on what tile I wanted. Most importantly the owner treated us the way a businessman should treat a customer. We are Hispanic and he didn't bat an eye when helping us unlike other places that don't even approach us (the place across the bridge). Their prices are great. While speaking with the owner we told him that we were doing our bathroom over for my mother's apt, who by the way is very ill, and told him we just wanted to make her happy. After 20 minutes going back and forth trying to find the right tile, the owner gave us a big discount on the tiles we chose without us asking. He was so sympathetic for my mother and what she was going through. What a nice man I must say. I wouldn't hesitate to go back, even without a discount. All I have to say is buyer beware !! My wife and I have waited 14 years to remodel our bathroom and I would have been better off with tile from Home Depot. Our tile was warped and I still have a box and a half of this tile to prove my point. All I got from the useless staff at the store was that my contractor should have stopped the job and brought the tile back. Not that they should have retrieved their warped tile or took any responsibility for their sub standard tile. Quality control is definitely not their first concern. So my family should have done without a bathroom for another month before a better quality tile arrived. I miss the days when a company took responsibility for their F ups or when quality control was foremost. My contractor did the best he could with the product we bought but I would never make the mistake again of walking through the doors of Classic tile in Staten Island again. I hope I have saved just one person from a major disappointment. read more
