I called to inform Volusia Rental right away. Their response was that they were aware of the leak. This is the reason for my discontent. I would not have rented a piece of equipment that was faulty that I would have to stop using to go purchase hydraulic fluid and refill repeatedly. More importantly, I would not let a customer rent a piece of equipment in this condition. Along with the fact that one the trailer tires had been leaking air to the point it was almost flat. I neglected to inspect this. Duh! I thought this was their responsibility before sending out. I have rented from this location on several occasions in the past, but it seems that they have gotten too comfortable with repeat business and are neglecting their equipment and the customer. What really broke the camels back was that when I requested a discount on the rental for my inconvenience of having to purchase fluid specific to this equipment and an Allen key to open the access panel at the fluid reservoir, it was met with a sense of irritation as if I was inconveniencing them. WTF? Oh well, so much for trying to support local business. Moving on. Beware.

When it was finally time for her fitting, the designer, Malcolm, called her name, looked her up and down with clear displeasure, and proceeded to body-shame her by making comments to another model -- all in the presence of the backstage manager, Zelda, who witnessed the exchange. Despite remaining professional, positive, and giving no reason to warrant such treatment, my model was deliberately overlooked and dismissed. The designer chose not to fit her or take her measurements at all. As a result of this blatant disrespect and unprofessionalism, she made the decision to politely excuse herself from the production. This type of behavior is unacceptable and deeply disappointing. No model should ever be made to feel unwanted, disrespected, or shamed -- especially in what should be a professional setting. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Belle Faire Productions to any talent or professional expecting basic courtesy, respect, or inclusivity.
