I always wondered how such an oddly specific store like this could stay in business with all of the Party Cities and Targets of the world. Today I figured it out. I was at Party City, I'll admit, when I asked them if they had any gold or silver foul balloon letters (a'la 'Blurred Lines' video, but with no reference to Robin Thicke's ~ahem~). Shockingly, the megastore for parties didn't have them and they could only recommend ordering them online on amazon. Well, thankfully I remembered BW and INDEED- they DID have the letters! I went by the shop and Tiffany, the daughter in law of the owners, helped me with finding the balloons, taught me how to fill them, and taught me how to deflate them to reuse again and again (though this would seem to hurt their business, her honesty and genuine pleasure to help me save money made me certain I'd never buy another balloon from a national chain again!). Tiffany also showed me their portfolio and man, oh man, can they do some fun stuff with balloons! My only sadness was that they didn't sell helium tanks- they only rent them. I begrudgingly returned to Party City to buy one so that I could inflate the balloons at the venue. So much for trying to go fully local on my quest! :) Note: they also supply most of the clowns in CFL. I don't know why, but this makes them super legit in my eyes! Make sure to pet the store mascot, Zena the Yorkie, before you leave! She's a darling!

Also, I made a special request of having my friend's lawn "forked" with plastic forks. (A prank that goes back the 20 years, lol, when she lived local.) To my delight, Caroline happily obliged. Caroline was also very communicative via email and fast to respond. I was emailed an invoice and paid easily via Paypal. The evening of the sign placement, Crystal called (I think to verify how to place the forks), but I had unfortunately already passed out with the kids when I put them down for bed. (Sorry!!!) She followed up with a pic of her work. I love that the signs were placed at night. I'm waiting for my friend to wake up to see the yard signs and forks! The signs are up for 2 days. I'm just delighted at the experience - easy to book, pay, great execution, reasonable cost, friendly, great follow-through. Highly recommended!
