If you need a body shop I would not recommend Classic Collision. I used them and have regretted it. You may also wind up regretting it.

This review is cathartic after what I've gone through the last couple weeks and my hope is that it will assist in the decision of those considering utilizing their services. I was quoted $2200 to have my BMW IX's partial mirror area replaced. They said it would take a day. I dropped it off on 8/15/25 on that date I left a $500 deposit. I hadn't heard from them in 5 days, so I texted them. No response. They closed late due to the heat, which I understand. I texted them again the next day and they responded stating that they had to order another part that wasn't expected and that it would be an add'l $1000. I asked why they didn't let me know first. They said "we needed to get the car done". They got the part on Thursday and never let me know about the add'l cost until after the fact, on Saturday. I was totally blindsided. I went to get the car on Tuesday, and I explained I wasn't paying the full $1000 due to lack of communication and them not knowing about the needed part. Steve was very nice and took responsibility. He went back in and brought Brock (manager) out. He was unprofessional, told me I was fired and they didn't want my business. Brock lost it and was shaking. They did negotiate on the price. A few days later Brock left me a VM, very vague. I didn't call back because I thought it was regarding the conflict. The next day the owner (Colleen) called me and I said I wasn't interested in discussing my experience and hung up. I later thought about it and ended up texting her, asking her what information she needed. She said I used a fraudulent card when I made my $500 deposit 2 weeks ago. She thought it had something to do with my poor customer service experience. I explained that happened 2 weeks prior. She seems reasonable on the phone. We couldn't figure out why someone said I used a fraudulent card. I looked through all my credit card charges and there wasn't a $500 charge. I offered to pay them $500 right then. She said she was out of town and wanted to talk to her bookkeeper first. That night I rec'd a 3 minute accidental VM from her and her husband Don, berating me and talking negatively about her staff. Threatening to fire staff. Turns out she thought I stole someone's credit card and didn't believe anything. The next day, I rec'd a call from my neighbor asking where I had the work done of my car. She let me know that they were the ones to report the fraud. Her daughter works for me and I often give her my credit card to run errands, etc. We both have Alaska credit cards. She accidently gave me her credit card which is what was accidently used for the $500 deposit. I called her and explained. Her lack of critical thinking skills were staggering. Why would I leave my $100,000 car at her establishment, steal a credit card for deposit and then pay the remaining $2000. I told her to look my husband and I up, we are both professionals in Portland. This could have been handled so much more professionally. There are lots of other body shops. Avoid the drama and unnotified extra charges and go somewhere else. Also, if the owner wants to refute anything I said I have documentation on everything. The quote I signed, the texts from her and staff and the VM she accidently left.

She…read morehad the curves, the shine, the kind of allure that makes you stop thinking and start believing. Except the first time I met her in a PNW downpour the windshield wiper flapped uselessly like a limp handshake. Replacing the wipers was contractual. Basic safety. A correction to meet the State's prim-and-proper dress code. Still met with a laissez-faire attitude. When I picked her up, her glasses were still broken. I took the fix into my own hands--parts shop on the way home, a couple of tenners, a little elbow grease, done. Next up, the key fob. The emergency key was missing, the kind of detail that only matters when it matters. I brought it up, like an old lover who still believes a wrong turn should end with a nightcap and an apology. Instead, it turned from good cop to bad cop faster than a red carpet turns into a doormat. Then Murphy made a house call. The battery went low. She wouldn't let me in, like a partner who caught me gambling with the rent money. I used my one free call to get a locksmith to bail me out. Time and money burned on something promised on the first date. Next the check engine light blinked into life like it couldn't wait to hand me a bill and a lecture. Still loyal, I went back to them instead of the brand shop off the two one seven. One tip slipped across the bar after another. Reassurance she was safe to take out on the town without having to constantly look over my shoulder. It was just a false trail that kept circling back to the same code I heard on the scanner from day one. I was being led on a wild goose chase and suspected I was the stuffing. After months of silence and no new leads I picked up the phone to reopen the case, like a jilted ex dialing a number I know I shouldn't. The witnesses had "left." The records were "tied up." I was told the specifics about the prior investigation were withheld for "legal reasons." It read like the old standards had left the building, and she'd taken her charm with her. Trusting my first instinct, I took the old girl to the brand shop, the place that spoke her native tongue. They handed me the facts. No passing the buck. No song and dance. Workmanship you could hang your hat on. I'd finally gotten the full meal deal, but I'd lost my wallet in the process. I figured I'd give Freeman one last chance to make things right. I'd played this scene before, back when deals were clean and handshakes meant something. Back then, I had a number in my head and they hit it like a sharpshooter. This time it was a slow middle school dance on a wet gym floor, and every step felt wrong. The numbers didn't add up, even the Kelly Blue Boys gave me the kind of look you save for a three-card monte table. Sure, I could take a bruising, but I hadn't signed up to get rolled. The relationship ended with a love letter that read like a case file, our entire history laid out in black and white, followed by a reply that never came. Freeman was a name I'd trusted since I was a rookie twenty years back, the door I knocked on when I wanted a fair and honest deal, the place I sent friends, family, and associates. Somewhere along the way, it seemed they traded the Freeman name for the Saul Goodman Sunday Special. In this town, some places sell you a promise the way a magician sells you a trick. You watch the shine. You miss the move. I gave them every chance to play it straight, but instead I got a different story each time, ended up with the bills, and found myself alone in the rain without an umbrella. Ragged, like a mark who realized the gig too late, I closed the file, because sometimes that's the only win you get. Take a walk. Don't look back. The rain will wash the footprints away.

While other "Dentists" are mechanics, Todd at TAPS truly is an artist. My BMW M340i got bumped in…read morethe left rear hindquarter behind the wheel and left a small but sharp dent right across a body line and into a second fender. While I was concerned about the complexity of the dent itself, upon closer inspection with Todd we realized that what I thought were some additional minor scratches that could be buffed out were in fact thin lines cut down to the metal and couldn't be buffed. Also, there were some strange fibers at one part of the dent that crossed the bumper line. Todd explained that the other car had impacted the rear fender that wrapped around the back which was PLASTIC (I didn't know that!) and rubbed the paint clear off. Todd mentioned that unfortunately it would require paint, at which point I mentioned I had the touch-up paint kit for the car. Amazingly he said he would see what he could do. If you've ever used a touch-up paint kit before, you know that trying to fix multiple scratches on metallic paint with that touch-up brush doesn't really end up well. I hadn't expected paint damage and didn't have high hopes for the end result. When I saw the finished job, I was blown away. The dent was perfectly repaired with body lines fully restored, but the paint fix was unreal. The scratches literally had disappeared and the paint perfectly blended. I know what touch-up paint brushed on looks like, so he must have applied the paint somehow and then used some technique to blend it into the existing paint so well there were literally no brush marks. All I can say is that alone saved me 2 whole repainted fenders at a body shop. Others MIGHT have been able to fix the dent as well as Todd, but no one else even mentions fixing a PAINT issue as a side talent - from a touch-up paint kit, no less! Truly an amazing job!

Great experience. Easy to get an estimate and an appointment. Very communicative and no suprises…read more Impressive, quality, work and a big savings over a body shop. I will refer and use TAPSpdr in the future.

After a few months, the exhaust started to smell like gas and the check engine light came on. We put it off since the car is quite old. Now, 2 years later, we're due for DEQ and can't pass. I call SW Autobody to see if there is some kind of warranty. They say, no, after market cats don't have a warranty and they don't fix those anymore (massive sign out front says differently). A 30 second googl search tells me it's a federal law that cats must last 5yrs/50k miles for environmental purposes. The shop stops answering my calls and doesn't return my voice ails so I go in person. The lady tells me she's been doing this for 30 years and there is no warranty. I insist she give me her distributor's info. I call the distributor, find out there is a warranty but that they have never sold this part to this shop. Yikes. I get the repair done at another shop and they discover the cat is welded on... Likely salvaged / stolen off another vehicle. So I take the old one to sw auto body to get an explanation. Where did it come from? The lady said her distributor is the only place she gets parts from so she doesn't know what happened. Scratching her head like "who the heck put this in your car?! Man, that's so weird!" The whole song and dance... Chances are this is the cat that got stolen off my car in the first place lol. I told her I want this old car warrantied and to call me when she has it so I can sell it and make some money back. That would obviously be hard for her to do so she comes chasing me out into the parking lot with a random catalytic converter and asks me to take this one instead. Sure, whatever. I feel bad writing this review but I was cheated on the repair and disrespected throughout the process. Im a super easy going guy and this place walked allllllllll over me. They tried everything they could to find the source of my leak, but when they couldn't, they referred me to Liberty Water Leak, who was fantastic and found the sources of my leak and water damage within a few hours. With the comprehensive exam, they listed each item that needed repair and were not pushy AT ALL. They also answered all of my questions, yes... even the dumb ones. There was an oversight where my wiper cowlings were not installed correctly, so I did leave an honest review on SureCritic saying that I wasn't sure if I'd trust them with further repairs due to that mistake. Within a week of posting that review, the shop called me to apologize and discuss what happened. On top of that, they refunded me my entire bill.
