Lazy at Best, Irresponsible at Worst…read more Casey, the technician, ran a compression test, showed 0 psi on cylinder 6, but did not perform a leak-down test to determine where the compression was actually going. A leak-down test takes minimal time and is standard practice for diagnosing internal engine issues. Instead, I was told they "don't have the capacity to do internal engine repairs" and the only recommendation was to replace the entire engine for $12,000-$13,000 -- on an engine with only 75,000 miles. I then took the truck to the dealership down the road, where they performed a proper diagnostic and found 226 psi on cylinder 6. The actual issue was an intermittent ignition coil, which was confirmed by ohming it out and manipulating the connector. That is not a proper diagnosis. It's lazy at best and irresponsible at worst to skip basic troubleshooting and full diagnostic testing simply because internal repairs are not something the shop performs. This felt more like a business decision than a technical conclusion.

He not only did things right, the first time, he checked things, that were overlooked for years. He always contacted me first, to clear any new maintenance that should be done. It seems like the day I went in (31Dec 2025) for a normal maintenance checkup, they had inexperienced teenagers working. There was some misunderstanding of what I was there for. I showed Kaylyn my maintenance schedule which was to check fluids and whatever else and tire rotation. My schedule maintenance light was on and the tire pressure in one tire was a little low. After a long wait, Kaylyn said the car was in excellent condition and didn't charge me anything. I get in the car and my maintenance and tire pressure light were still on and I got a strong smell of oil. A couple of days later, I am driving around town and had to turn off the heat because the oil smell was so strong. I got home and looked under the hood. The oil cap was missing and I now had oil on the engine, underside of the hood and on the outside of the car on the passenger side. It makes no sense that they took the oil cap off. That tells me that they topped it off. They do not carry the right kind of weight that my car requires. I bought an oil cap and went back to Precision. Kaylyn looked at the notes the mechanic made and the notes indicated that they did not do anything or that the oil cap was missing. Of course it wasn't missing. She was baffled as to what happened and assured me that they would not do anything to the car without getting the okay from me, including topping of the oil. Then why was my cap missing, why oil on the side of the car and why when I got into the car it had a trong oil smell that did not go away? She said they could not do anything about the oil on the engine and hood. She offered to order the correct oil and provide a free oil change. Right, there is no way they are touching my car again. An update: Today Precision customer support called me. They were trying to make my experience right by offering to reimburse me for my oil cap and to have the engine cleaned. The oil cap was maybe $12 so I was not going to worry about it. I do not want to take it back to Precision to get the engine cleaned and I am not sure where to take it, so I will do it myself. Unfortunately my review may have gotten the manager in trouble. I did not want that and I feel awful. It appears she had inexperienced workers that day and her hands were full. But I guess her telling me there was nothing they could do about the oil on the engine was not the correct statement. Thank you Precision for trying to make it right.

I called Crestview Auto Spa and immediately got a quote ($90 for a full shampoo/stain removal) and an appointment that worked for my schedule. I waited a total of about 1.5h and my seats looked great + they do a complimentary car wash and window wipe down which was a perk. My seats were damp (obviously) so they wrapped my drivers seat so I could drive home without discomfort. I left all my windows open and parked in the sun for about 3 hours and everything was 100% dry. Great customer service and I'm very happy with the results. I will be returning to Crestview Auto Spa for my car detailing needs!
