I didn't realize that these were part of ballroom dancing until I arrived. I found this place via MeetUp, and they had offered to introduce me to their class. And, knowing me, I love trying new things, so I couldn't help but jump on the offer! To make things even more fun, I proposed this to a first date, and *spoiler alert* he is still part of my life, haha. So, what does that mean? This place has some magic brewing about. The class: It was about 1 hour long, and I felt completely at home. It was an introductory class where we learned the basics of ballroom dancing. I love how the "leads" have to ask the "followers" out for a dance prior to dancing with them. The whole experience was met with tons of smiles, laughter, and memories. I'm definitely coming back for another class once I figure out my schedule, and I couldn't recommend this place more! They make you feel right at home while ensuring that you have a fantastic time here. I also loved how they teased me about my date, haha. And, yes, he enjoyed it as well! The first time for both of us.

We both came in with two left feet and weren't aiming for anything elaborate, just something more polished than swaying awkwardly and trying not to step on each other. Michele was fantastic--patient, encouraging, and so much fun to work with. She taught us a few simple steps that completely transformed the experience. Not only did we feel more confident, but we genuinely had a great time during our lessons. We shared a lot of laughs, and she made us feel totally at ease. Thanks to Michele and Elegant Dancing, our moment on the dance floor felt natural and memorable. Highly recommend to anyone looking to add a special touch to their big day!

They usually start with an intro about the piece and what to focus on when doing the class which eventually came up during my class here. The technique and choreography is good. :)

Her energy and bubbly personality is infectious, and creates a great learning environment for dancers of any skill level! Each class begins with a brief warm up, and then immediately moves into choreo for that class' dance. By the end of each hour, you will have learned the moves for a short dance routine, which really gives goal oriented people like me a sense of accomplishment.

As a former dancer, I sincerely appreciate this studio, the teachers, and the entire dance philosophy. As very young dancers, students learn the love of dance and movement and dance through play. As they get older, play is reduced and more technique is brought in. That is not to say the older kids don't have any fun, though. Through Ballet 2, students still play with props, but in a way that encourages the learning of new movements (think wax on, wax off only for ballet!). Ballet is taught as the basics and foundation of other dance forms, and older students can add in other dance forms. There is also a great feeling just bringing your children to the school. You can watch your younger children dance, as they are in a classroom with a large window for parents to look through), so you never feel like you don't know what they are learning or how they are doing. The teachers will answer questions and have often stayed late to do so. I have personally taken some of the adult classes as well, and I highly recommend them! Right now, they're trying to get some of us former dancers back into form, and it's fantastic.

No matter what genre class I've taken, everyone is so nice, supportive, and hyping you up regardless of skill level. The instructors bring so much energy, teach in a way that is easy to understand, and are always open to questions. It feels welcoming but also motivating. * Dance: There is so much variety. You can take classes based on trending TikToks, K-pop, heels, hip-hop, contemporary, and more. I typically go to Jazz-Funk, Hip-Hop, and Contemporary. If you are starting dance like me, it is very beginner friendly, especially with the technique, footwork, and 101 classes. I started going back in October before the new location opened and really STRUGGLED with memorizing choreography, but it has definitely been getting easier the more I go. I can see the growth, and now I can focus on different goals when I come to class. They also offer more advanced classes for experienced dancers. One thing I love is that they upload class videos to a drive so you can look back at them later, which is really helpful. * Overall Thoughts: Would recommend. It is a friendly community, the instructors help you work toward your goals for the day, and there is a big variety of music. Some instructors will even take song requests. Even if you love sticking to one style, try out others because you might end up liking it.

My husband and daughter realized the hard way that we were not receiving emails from the school about half way into our second semester when every kid in class was told to wear Halloween costumes and ours was not prepared. We were told it's our fault and not theirs, "must be your spam folder" except neither my husband nor I have anything ever from them except a receipt of payment. We'll once again the school didn't communicate with us that they were going to be closed. I even spoke with the teacher via email the week before. I went through the whole website, and it said nothing about being closed. We structured our holiday weekend around her class and wake her up early to drive the extra distance from Ashburn. The school is NOT worth $325 + a 25 min commute. Will not be returning, but since we were invisible to them to begin with after 2 seasons enrolled, I doubt this feedback will even be recognized.
