Born 2 Dance Studio

Born 2 Dance Studio

Here are the reasons why Born 2 Dance is absolutely amazing:…read more1) Low commitment: Life happens, drop in classes means that you don't have to feel guilty about losing money when you cannot attend a class. 2) Gorgeous studio space: The whole studio is efficiently run with large, modern, and clean practice areas with all of the bells and whistles 3) Expansive options: This is not your average ballet/tap/jazz studio. Born 2 Dance offers extensive classes and workshops for both adults, teens, and children in styles that include K-pop, hip hop, salsa, bachata, sensual dancing, belly dancing, pom, acro, and more! 4) Event space: We were initially invited to Born 2 Dance for a toddler birthday party and were blown away by the beautiful and spacious party room with attached play area. Everything was really well thought out and seamless and the party package even included a toddler dance class! 5) Proximity to a coffee shop: Simply Social is within walking distance which means sitting in a waiting room while my child dances is a lot more enjoyable

I had a really fun time taking a recent Cardio Hip-Hop class. The check-in process was easy. I…read moreasked the person at the counter if they took any classes there and they did. The check-in person was super welcoming and told me about some of the other dance formats offered there. This dance studio caters to both children and adults. So you will see kids running around, which is ok, but I am not really used to. The class started on time. The instructor had great energy and encouraged us to have fun and do things our own style. I haven't been dancing in a while, so I knew it would be a good challenge for me. I really had a lot of fun. My only surprise is that the classes are only 60 mins. I think they ought to be 70 minutes to include a proper 5 min warm-up and 5-minute cool-down. There wasn't a lot of warming up in the beginning of this particular class. I've taken adult dance classes for years and I am used to something that include some warm-up movements to get the rotating joints going, like neck rolls, shoulder rolls, and hip and lower back movements. The class did include a relaxing cool down with stretching for the lower body and upper body. I plan to take more Hip-Hop style classes. They offer Cardio Hip-Hop, Beginner Hip-Hip and more advanced levels, Sensual Dance, Twerk, Ballet, Shuffle, Street Jazz and a lot more. I plan to try about 5 more formats and sign-up for one class for the summer session. I highly recommend this place!

I can't say enough good things about JSDA! Since our family started taking classes, we feel like…read morepart of a community! The teachers and office manager know all of us by name; the teachers take time to get to know their students (what makes them click and inspires them) and the office manager takes time to get to know the parents/caregivers, etc. and makes them feel welcome! During the COVID shutdown, the studio amazingly pivoted to virtual instruction very quickly. We were taking classes online before the schools or other activities were able to make the switch. As restrictions loosened, the studio welcomed in person dancers in a super safe manner and offered virtual instruction for those not comfortable with in person classes. Both were very well done. When school continued to be virtual, the studio offered a scholars program which allowed students to do their school work in the studio and take dance classes during their breaks. It was a social godsend to provide a pod like environment for our kids who craved social interaction, and exercise during virtual school (all done in a safe manner)! I was always impressed with the care the studio took to address the concerns of the various families so that everyone felt comfortable! The dance studio offers a variety of classes for beginners to serious, competitive dancers. I'd like to highlight their unique teen dance program which allows teenagers who are beginning dancers to comfortably take classes with other students their age. You're never too old to start dancing! The dance studio is located in downtown McLean and therefore conveniently located for parents/caregivers who can run meaningful errands nearby while their dancers are in class. But, the studio also has a lovely waiting area if you want to watch the classes on TV. Overall, I highly recommend JSDA's dance studio!

The new studio is loud and the vibrations from music shake the walls. I heard that installation…read moreof soundproofing in the walls and cushioning in the floors was discussed but not done. The dance room doors do not have windows and there is a locked private office which does not have a window in the door (it was stated that the office belongs to the owner, a man). There is also a teachers lounge which is locked. This is concerning because young children are there and private rooms create a safety issue. Most classes are in the evening and the children enter the building through a back door which faces a dark parking lot. There is a small light on the back of the building which was not working and there are no lights in the parking lot. Studios in the area charge less and offer more.

This is a word-class studio without peer and unquestionably the best place you can go for dance…read morelessons of any kind and at any level. DCDA is a new ballroom dance studio in Fairfax that's the home of the best dance coaches in the D.C. area. As a new facility, DCDA is incredibly bright, clean, and inviting. DCDA has a huge schedule packed with group classes for beginners through high-level competitive dancers in virtually every style under the sun - Standard (e.g. Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Quickstep), Latin (e.g. Cha Cha, Rumba, Jive, Samba), social dancing (e.g. Salsa), and even exercise dances like Zumba. Wedding dance lessons are also offered. Prices here are always extremely reasonable across the board, particularly given the quality of dance instruction and the reasonable size of the group classes. Unlike many other dance studios, DCDA makes dance fun and accessible. The classes here are detailed without being overwhelming and invigorating without being exhausting. As such, beginners can learn a lot without being intimidated, and experienced dancers can be challenged without becoming bored. Because everyone here is - without exception - friendly and talented, there are no awkward moments. Rather, there's a sort of intoxicating accessibility to classes here that I've never seen at any other studio: even the most relatively complicated topics are made understandable, fun, and useful. As amazing as the group classes here are, the private lessons are also amazing. The current instructors at DCDA - Lydia Petrigova and Anna Mikhed - are world-renowned competitors with a keen eye in virtually every aspect of ballroom dancing, which has led them to coach some truly amazing competitive couples. Bluntly put, their insight is worth its weight in gold. I've been working with Lydia for years now, and it's been the best thing that's ever happened to my dance career. If you have even a scintilla of interest in dance, you owe it to yourself to go to DCDA!

I was fearful that sometimes good dancers don't always make good teachers, especially for kids, who have unique needs. but Nikita and Vlad have both been amazing, and it's really always a pleasure dealing with Travis who runs the business/front desk side of things, and the director lydia is also so kind and helpful. now I've started taking group class too and it's a blast. not only are the teachers good at dancing and teaching, they make the entire process enjoyable. no matter what kind of mood we enter this place with, we always leave happy and energized.

We really enjoyed our time spent at this circus. This is actually my first time going to a circus…read moreof this nature. I purchased my tickets online. We used the mobile scanning for entry. We actually had very good seats. We paid a little extra for the seating but it was so worth it. We were seated in Row A seat 13 & 14. The event lasted 2 hour's with a thirty minute break. This show was very humorous and quirky. It was a very different kind of circus than what I'm use to. I have been to Barnum Bailey Circus and Universal Soul circus. I loved the costumes and everything. We purchased the typical hotdogs and I purchased an icee. They did have a list of adult beverages. My husband said his beer was refreshing. We even stopped by the gift shop on our way out and made two tee-shirt purchases. They have a variety of gifts from binoculars to bags to you name it they had it. They offered parking across the street but we opted for the parking around the corner which was only about $12.00 for 3 1/2 hour's. Again this was a very enjoyable show with a variety of entertainment. We definitely plan on attending again next year. Oh btw restrooms are all outside with plenty available to use before and after the event. Really cute set up and found them to be clean with plenty of soap available. Also spotted a beer garden tent. Didn't have a chance to stop by but that was pretty cool if you want to hang around after the event.
