She was also welcoming of my daughter with special needs! Plus. She was great to get us right in to the audiologist and help us to rule out concerns. I had also had trouble with the forms and instead of being dismissive they laughed with me and understood. I'd highly recommend coming here!

I have a rare genetic condition that affected the development of my ears (noted on file), so my ears are physically sensitive due to extreme scarring from multiple surgeries. This is to keep in mind when evaluating whether you would want to go to this office. The other Raleigh Capitol offices have been great...not this one. But the treatment I received was so poor that I cannot trust their offices with my hearing aids ever again. The women at the desk seemed completely unaware about how hearing aids function on a basic level to where it was frustrating. They did not seem to realize how ridiculous of an ask they were asking. I didn't do this, but I shouldn't have to divulge personal information about my health to make them understand I needed help. I was hoping this would be information that people working at a doctor's office would assume. I had an emergency and needed to get my hearing aid's tubing replaced because it broke in half. Anyone who has done this knows that this takes 5 minutes. Five minutes total to remove the tube, insert a new tube, measure the tube against the ear, and attach it to the hook of the hearing aid. I was told that this was not possible without dropping off the entirety of my hearing aid, including the hearing aid itself, and having it measured later (as in possibly days from when I would drop it off). Unlike what people may assume about the typical audiologist patient, I may have another hearing aid, but it doesn't help my hearing loss much at all. So I need this hearing aid. I don't know sign language and nobody in my life knows it. If I left, I wouldn't have been able to work. I had no other option. Also, unlike the typical audiologist patient, I'm not retired (no shame to the retirees reading this). I can't just leave work, drive 30 minutes, to spend the 3 minutes to have an ear tube measured against my ear, then drive back 30 minutes on such a short notice without significantly disrupting the workplace. It would be unfair to them. I had time before work, so I wanted that time to be utilized. I understand other patients exist, which is why I was willing to wait until that time opened up. Thankfully it did. I waited until the 5 minutes could be spent and thankfully got my ear mold, ear tube, and hook back. I believed I could finally hear in good quality and without pain. That was not the case. I don't know who exactly changed my ear tube. I saw a young tall brunette woman this time. But the only thing I do know is that you should absolutely never have an emergency situation under her care because it seems like she will be vindictive towards you and damage your things if you show up with an emergency situation. I went back to my car after the ordeal and began to feel pain in my ear canal. I took out my hearing aid and noticed a chip on the "nose" of the ear mold which goes inside the ear canal alongside the edge of the tube sticking out of the ear mold. It felt sharp and was hurting me. Did she stick the tube out from behind the ear mold and sharpen the ear tube enough to cut me? Probably not. But did she break my solid as a rock, non-rubber ear mold and cause a large crack traveling down the most "inside the ear" portion of it? Yes. I had to fix the sticking out piece by myself. However I need to find another office who can offer me a solution for my chipped and cracked ear mold. I don't want a piece to break off and lodge into my ear canal...I shudder at the thought of it. So all and all, if me showing up with an emergency situation was enough to annoy her to the point of doing such a half-hazard job that caused me pain later...thank God I did not give them my hearing aid. I spent a few thousand dollars on them. But this office does not care about the details. It's just a job. It's a money maker. Why put any more effort into it.

I would not recommend that anyone see Dr. Gupta. To be frank it's disheartening that someone such…read moreas him is practicing medicine as he has absolutely ZERO tableside manners. I had a bad experience from the second I walk in the door. To start the receptionist was very rude, the waiting room was overcrowded with barely enough room to sit and then I had to wait 40min after my scheduled appointment time to be seen. From there the first lady that brought me back to the room was kind and understood my frustration and explained they were nearly double booked for every appointment that day which is understandable. Once I saw the doctor he walked in the room and did not even introduce himself, he immediately just started reading my referral. From there he grabbed his otoscope and checked my ears, then sat in front of me without saying a word and stuck a nasal speculum in my nose, propped it open and blew gas in my nose with ZERO warning or explanation of what he was doing. He didn't greet me, didn't explain he was about to begin the inspection, didn't walk me through what he was doing and explain that it may be uncomfortable and smell/taste odd, he didn't say a word and immediately went into it. Secondly, when it came time to scope my nasal cavity he did the same exact thing, grabbed his tools and didn't explain a thing to me. He asked me for consent for the scope using the medical terms (I'm assuming for billing purposes) but never explained what he was about to do. I knew so little that I was opening my mouth because I thought he was going to scope my throat, it wasn't until he was 1 inch from my nose that he goes "oh no its going in your nose" then 1 second later started snaking the scope up my nasal cavity. I was so ill-informed I thought he was going in my mouth.. Then as I was wincing from being uncomfortable, rather than comforting me he proceeded to tell me that "it isn't that bad." The entirety of my consultation I couldn't get a single word in as he over talked me every time I tried to engage with him. Tried to explain my sinuses, over talked me then later asked if I have sinus issues. Kept giving blanket statements like "tell me more" with no elaboration as to what he'd wanted me to expand on, seemed more like it was self validation to feel that he was trying to let me talk but was ingenuine and had no direction. The icing on the cake, after I left the office I received a notification that they had filled a prescription for me for an ear infection - I later found out this was an error. This seems to follow suit with their quality of care. Having family in the healthcare system and being engaged to a doctor I understand some things happen but this was exceptionally poor service. I've sat through white coat ceremonies and he took a pledge that he is not upholding as this is far from the best care he can provide. He was rude, arrogant and clearly had no desire to hear my story and understand what I was experiencing. He just wanted to read my referral and rip through it. I'm sorry but this is a private practice specialty, not the ER. If he is overwhelmed it is by his own doing. He clearly has a god complex and thinks everyone is beneath him. People like this SHOULD NOT be practicing medicine. I will not be moving forward with care here and will be canceling my CAT scan appointment. I would highly recommend another practice, a good friend of mine just referred me to Raleigh Capitol Ear Nose and Throat. I would recommend you take your business there as he has nothing but great things to say after having a successful surgery.

She's a current/established patient at this practice and expected to be seen. She described the situation and asked for an immediate appointment. The receptionist told there were no openings for three weeks. My mother again emphasized that she had lost a significant amount of hearing overnight and pleaded for them to see her sooner. Again, they told they could not see her for three weeks. The receptionist who took the call is unclearly uneducated about how to triage calls. At one point my mom connected with a triage nurse, who did NOT pass the information to a doctor. The triage nurse simply said, "I can't diagnose you on the phone." The entire function of a triage nurse is to discern vital information and pass it to the on call doctor. At no point was this done. This is beyond comprehension to me and bordering on medical malpractice. Upon finally seeing her three weeks after her hearing loss, Dr. Brown determined she had indeed lost significant hearing and needed to start steroids THAT DAY to try to save her hearing. This is when realized that Sudden Hearing Loss is classified as a *medical emergency* and should be treated within 2 weeks if you hope to return the hearing. There was no apology for the delay in treatment, and no mention of steroid injections which may additionally help, nor was an MRI ordered. The only good thing I can say about this practice is that the doctor she saw in Garner today took her very seriously and was very empathetic. We will never know if my mom could have regained her hearing if she was seen in a timely manner. We still hope that she does regain hearing but as of today a hearing test showed what she thought- it has only worsened. The treatment she received failed to meet any acceptable standard of medical care. If you have other options, please pursue them. You will not receive competent care here.
