From start to finish, I felt comfortable, informed, and confident in the recommendations they provided. I came in needing my inspection done and also wanted to get some "mystery noises" checked out. My car has a lot of miles, and I wasn't sure if it made sense to put more money into it or trade it in. The team at 625 was great right from the start. I was given a loaner car immediately, and after they checked everything over, they sent me an electronic file with all the recommended repairs--clearly itemized with costs broken out. When I spoke with Casey, the owner, he took the time to go over everything with me. I explained my situation--deciding between keeping the car or trading it in--and his honesty really stood out. He told me that if I planned to trade it in, there was no need to spend money beyond the inspection since, with high mileage, the dealer would likely just auction it off anyway. That advice wasn't in his best business interest, but it was absolutely the right thing to say, and it meant a lot. If I decided to keep the car, he had the repairs prioritized so I could take care of the most important items first and handle the rest over time. I decided to keep it, and the repairs they completed were done quickly and done right. The noises were gone, and what had been a rough, bumpy ride was suddenly smooth again. I'll be continuing down the list of recommended repairs in the coming months, but I can already say this was one of the best auto repair experiences I've ever had. 625 Auto Repair is honest, professional, and truly customer-focused. They ordered one & installed but it wasn't programmed right so they had to get another. The installed the 2nd one & again it wasn't programmed properly. A 3rd ECM was shipped out but before it arrived Heffner had the 2nd unit programmed & installed it. After 8 days I was concerned with all that Heffner had to deal with that along with a new taillight being replaced was going to be OUCH! Heffner Automotive came through & the entire bill was less than the car rental. Being on the road & working in the pipeline industry we've come to expect the worst case scenario from auto repair to fast food. Unfortunately it comes with the territory. Two weeks prior a coworker took his truck to the dealership & in 8 hours (One day in the shop) his bill was $2207 for some front end work. Heffner Automotive in Lebanon, Pa. is damn good & a very trustworthy shop to take your vehicles.

The Service Manager asked me who told me I needed a new thermostat and housing. He rolled his eyes and chuckled when I said Meineke in East Petersburg.

I pointed out that I've only ever had work done at their shop; logically, it would have been one of their own mechanics. They immediately denied any responsibility, claiming it couldn't have been them. Rather than argue, I accepted their explanation at face value, and paid my bill in full and respectfully let them know that I'd no longer be bringing my business there. They left a typed letter and $20 in cash under the invoice on my front seat; not as a sincere gesture, but as a passive-aggressive parting shot. The letter reiterated that they didn't think it was their fault and criticized me for bringing my own oil and filter (something they had never brought up as an issue before). It was unprofessional, unnecessary, and left a bad impression. Ironically, their education of bringing my own oil made me realize it's better to support local shops by letting them supply parts too; something I would've been happy to do for them had they addressed it professionally. This shop had all the opportunity to maintain a long-term customer relationship, but instead chose defensiveness and condescension. I can't recommend West Penn to anyone looking for professional, honest service.

After getting my wheels rotated during one specific visit, I was experiencing a thumping/rattling noise when turning my wheels. Come to find out, one of the front wheels was extremely loose, turns out lug nuts were not tightened. After this mishap, I decided to bring my vehicle to a different mechanic when experiencing issues with the engine. Upon further inspection, the vehicle actually had two other major underlying structural issues including a completely rotted frame. I was told that if I were to drive over train tracks too fast, the vehicle would completely slide off the frame. I wish I could say West Penn was vigilant enough to discover this issue months earlier considering their friendly staff and low prices. I will not be returning.
