The owner chatted with us and kept the fire going to warm us up. It was the friendliest breakfast we've had in a long time! The general store was chock full of the most interesting selection of items! Yes, you need to bring (or purchase cheaply) reusable bags to put your groceries in and you have to put a quarter in the buggy to use it, which is returned to you when you return it. I visited Cuba One Stop in Cuba, Alabama [330 Hwy 80 Spur] on Friday, 06/05/26, around 2 PM…read more I had a quick stop at this place because I was doing a lengthy road trip. I needed to utilize the restroom as well as pick up snacks. As far as food, I picked up the following: * Bai Simbu Strawberry Water Beverage * Baken-Ets Hot 'N Spicy Chicharrones * Fried White Bullhead (White Catfish) I was especially impressed with the cookery of the White Catfish, since it was my first time having it. It was seasoned to perfection and deep-fried with a golden crust. It also tasted incredible paired with the tartar sauce, hot sauce, and white bread. Lastly, I enjoyed that the fish did not have a fishy taste at all. The individuals working inside were beyond kind and pleasant. I was assisted by a sweet gentleman at the front counter, who was also raving about the tasty White Catfish. He also told me to "have a blessed day." That interaction provided such a warm, positive experience. I highly recommend stopping by Cuba One Stop, whether it's for gas, a restroom break, snacks, or delicious fried fish!
