Rip-off artists. My mom, at 79 years old and having suffered a recent stroke, isn't in the best condition to judge. She went in because the bottom part of an upright kept splitting on the bottom. Turns out it was a few brackets that needed to be replaced. (maybe a few dollars to do) What did they quote her? $145, "after discount"!!! The old vacuum is barely worth that amount. They told her it ALSO needed a "tune-up," which after clarification meant replacing the belts, oiling and greasing the machine. Keep in mind, this is an old rickety vacuum not a car so there needs to be some price adjustment (if they did actually do any of what they said). Unfortunately, my mom said yes, and I wasn't able to catch them before they did the work agreed on, so they aren't going to budge now. Be suspicious of them, they don't get a lot of customer traffic so will capitalize on it. Basically the equivalent of shady auto mechanics. read more

I brought my parents vacuum I'd gifted them in for repair and they inspected it before s doing any work. I knew there was something wrong with it and it drove me nuts that I couldn't fix it myself. They called me a few hours later with a very reasonable quote for fix and tune up (badly needed) and did the work the same day. I picked it up the next morning. If there is such a thing as a "vacuum emergency," we had one; and this place came to the rescue! The clip that holds the head of our Dyson vacuum had broken. Although we ordered a replacement part on-line using the model number, the clip that arrived to us was undersized. In a panic (because were having a dinner party and needed to vacuum), we called Clark Vacuum. Not only did they find the properly sized clip, they didn't even charge me-- just simply traded for the smaller clip. Plus, they took the time to explain that often the person filling the order for replacement parts (or advertising for them on-line) may not be particularly knowledgeable about every model of every brand. I'm surprised there aren't any reviews for this place. I brought my 4 year old Bissell vacuum in because it had never been serviced and it shut down on me for an unknown reason. I'm tough on my vacuum because I have a furry dog at home and I vacuum regularly. I brought the vacuum in on a Saturday afternoon and the salesperson told me he would call me later that day or Monday am with an estimate. He called me back that afternoon but we didn't speak until Monday am because I called back to late. On Monday, I received the very reasonable quote and what he was going to do with it. He promised by Wednesday and it was ready. When I used it I noticed a huge difference and all the parts were new/or cleaned. I think it works better now than it did out of the box. I'm not waiting 4 years again. It's always good to support a local business. read more

This guy, Bob, sells THE BEST VACUUM BAGS on the market! Got a German-made Miele from him many moons ago, I luv it. I've since needed a cord replacement, back to Bob. Also needed a replacement part but they're now made in China. It took a lil time but, he found it in and repaired it. He's our go to, easy to park there too. read more

The absolute worst small business around. Brought my vacuum in for a new belt and was told the belt broke because of some bogus reason he made up. Said it would be 45 dollars to fix. Okay. I figured I was getting ripped off but let me him do it anyway. I picked it up and used it on a wood floor for exactly one minute and I smelled something burning. The rubber on the roller burned up and was popped out of the machine. Brought it back and the arrogant sob told me it was because something got stuck. I told him that was absolutely not the case but he kept talking over me and wouldn't let me get a word in edgewise he totally ripped me off and was nasty on top of it. I will never ever go near that place again and recommend anyone to find a different vacuum repair place to fix your machine if you want it FIXED!!!!!!! read more

Brought my Sears vacuum in for repair. They charged me $80.00 stopped working after using it just a few times. Brought it back and was told it was a piece of junk. I'm out $80.00....Beware!....also very rude! On 8/12.. I decided to take a look a the machine myself. Took apart the handle and saw it was a wire, reconnected it, and is as good as new.. They obviously never even looked at it. read more

I've been going to Clark Vacuum for years for minor service and to purchase bags for my vacuum that I can't get at ShopRite. My experience purchasing a used vacuum from them has been a nightmare. I feel ripped off and taken advantage of. This company scams customers and does not stand behind their products. I was sold a used Miele vacuum. I was assured it was barely used and bought back from a previous customer who was simply dissatisfied with the model. I was told it costs $1200 new, and bought it for $750. I now realize that it goes for $900 online, and comes with additional parts that were not included at purchase. In the single month that we've owned it, the suction works intermittently, the cord retracts during use, and the hinge is broken. We've brought it back twice for service and the owner refuses to give us a refund for an obviously defective product. Very disappointing experience after an attempt to support a small local business. I advise you to shop elsewhere if you are in the market for a vacuum! read more

I had a terrible experience with Clark Vacuum. I dropped my vacuum cleaner off to be repaired at the end of September. After three months (and at least six of my phone calls and none from them), I picked it up-still not repaired. They did not care about me as a customer. As a matter of fact, on the way out the door with my unrepaired vacuum cleaner, the man told me to f***off! read more
