They truly care about you understanding the training and although you work in small groups they work with each dog / & their owner separately as necessary. We are only 2 weeks into the training which last for 15 sessions but are excited to register our 2nd dog as soon as our Jaxon wraps up his training. Their fees are more expensive than other dog training classes but it's 100% worth it as it's training that will serve our dog and our family for a lifetime! Bella is a very sweet and loving dog but she barked aggressively when anyone came near our door, let alone knock/ring bell. Any change made her nervous and jumpy. A visit to the vet would cause anxious behavior for a week after each appointment. Other dogs made her nervous even though we had socialized her from a very young age. When walking she would stiffen whenever another dog or children were near by us. We have always exercised Bella a lot and that helped but never eliminated these issues. Then I read about the Fort Collins Dog Wizard online. I was just hoping to improve her quality of life a little... I never imagine or dreamed of the results we would get. Cullen did a house visit to assess Bella. He sat at our house talking calmly to me about Bella and her personality the entire time he ignored Bella. After the first ten minutes, she was begging for his attention but he still let her have her space. I couldn't believe the calming presence he brought and he hit all her scary buttons (a man with a hat). After talking to me, he said he thought they could absolutely help her. We sent her to them for three weeks and she worked primarily with Maddy. We visited Bella a week into the training, we got our first training session, and we were already amazed. When we picked her up at the end of the three weeks, we received more training and very clear and strict instructions on how to continue the work. Maddy visited us at our home in the coming weeks to assess Bella and help answer any questions we had on techniques or progress. Once you've been through the program there are graduate classes that you and your dog can attend for free every Saturday as well as a Facebook group for graduates to share/ask questions and you can always contact Cullen, Jess, or Maddy. Six months ago we had a dog that freaked out if a car door closed outside our house, UPS truck drove by, or anyone came to our house. Last week on Halloween our doorbell rang and door was knocked on all night and not one peep from Bella. She sat quietly on her place and enjoyed her evening. We have dinner parties with lots of loud laughing and moving about and she calmly lays on her bed until we let her come off and then she enjoys the attention from our friends. Her quality of life is so much better and now everyone can see her sweet and loving personality instead of a barking, scared dog. My only regret was not finding the Dog Wizard sooner. When we adopt our next dog, they will be the first phone call I make after adoption.

I first called on her to help me train a ~1 year old…read moreSaint Bernard foster who was almost surrendered because the owners didn't want to take the time to train this beautifully sweet Saint. She was very stubborn and I disagreed with my mom's preferred method of training using "corrections". And the training I learned/used for my dog wasnt working for Mia since she was so stubborn and my dog was/is so eager to please so quickly picked up training. So Patty came over and gave me a hand and after an hour and half session, Mia was learning how to sit on command. Patty showed me some tips and such on how to get Mia to pay attention and make the sessions "fun" for Mia's breed and to get her attention and motivation up. Mia was then quickly trainable and in the 30 days we were given to get the dog trained, Mia was sitting on her own, doing down stays, and her recall was improving greatly! I have also called Patty for some behavior tests/issues my 2 year old border collie/malinois mix was doing for me. Honey likes to bark randomly and when people come by or simply walk by the house, so called Patty to help me with trying to get Honey to settle down a bit in that regard. I'll probably call her back to help some more once I get into another place without as many dogs and different rules regarding barking. She helped me see that I needed to give honey another distraction when I expected guests so as to help with Honey's anxiety levels which also contribute to her cause in barking. She even let Honey keep the puzzle ball she used to help reward/distract honey while we worked with her. I have also called Patty to help me with Honey's recall. She is one of those dogs where you give her that one little inch, and she will take a foot. :) so have to stay on top of her. Honey is also an agility dog, so I needed to strengthen her recall as we had an attention/recall issue in our first trial. So Patty met me at a nearby park and helped me get honey's attention and recall improved and honey has greatly improved in basic coming when called (she was good before, but like i said, slack off a bit and shell take advantage), and has helped greatly in the agility "ring". Hopefully will pay off when we do our next trial next month (October), where the objective is to at least finish 1 of our 3 events (we didnt get to finish our 2 last time because we ran out of time and/or she got too many "off courses" cause she would get distracted and walk away from me! Overall, I highly recommend Patty. She is very personable, rates are good, uses positive reinforcement (ie treats/rewards) and comes in handy for those "touch ups" that dog's sometimes need. I obviously cant say much in regards to puppies/no training at all and need multiple sessions to learn the basics, but for dogs with some training that need touch ups or behavior consults, Patty is definitely handy. I also like the fact that its one-on-one. So no need to pay for a "session" to acquire the same lessons in a group setting with minimial attention given to you and your dog. She makes sure you know what you are doing and feel comfortable before the end of your session(s). And I have called around to a few places/people and Patty's rates were by far the best for private one-on-one training.

Drew is very knowledgeable about the way a dog's brain works and uses this knowledge to help train dogs to behave the way we want them to. A few things stood out to us about Drew. First, the sessions were in our home, which really helped normalize the training for Lucca. We were able to do the commands in the place we'll use them going forward, which helped Lucca learn quickly. Second, Drew took the time to understand what we wanted to get out of training. No owner, dog, or lifestyle are exactly alike, and Drew spent an hour with us, before sessions even started, to learn what we wanted to achieve with training. He then personalized the training sessions based on our wants. It was great to work on the things that mattered to us, and that Lucca needed, while not wasting anytime on the things we'll never use. My wife and I added a dog to our family nearly 2 years ago and, at my in-laws recommendation due to the many years they've taken their dogs there and boasted of exemplary care, we elected to use Alpine as our veterinary clinic. 2 years and another dog later, I couldn't imagine taking my pets anywhere else. The vets are people that obviously love animals and prioritize giving them the best care possible. The experience has always reflected that our dogs are like family to Dr. Liz and Dr. Sharkey. They are known by name and have been treated with love and compassion with each visit. I couldn't say enough good things about this facility and feel very fortunate to have a great veterinary clinic so close to home, particularly when hearing the occasional horror stories from friends and colleagues that can't say the same for their veterinary clinics. If you're in the Greeley area, I highly recommend giving Alpine Veterinary Hospital a chance for your pets' needs.

I told Alli the ultimate goal would be to take Bailey to work with me each day so she could be enjoyed by the people I work with and work for. But, I'd be happy w just being able to go for a pleasant walk. Alli assured me the best thing for Bailey would be her group class. I was very hesitant (because I didn't want Bailey to bite another dog) but, wanted to give Bailey more freedom and have a more relaxed life w her, so I decided to trust Alli's recommendation and give the class a shot. Bailey was so scared during the first 20 mins of our first class, by the end of that very first class, she was so engaged and excited to please me. She has loved every minute of Alli's class. About 20 other dog owners go to the class I attend w my dog, and I know Alli has 3 other group classes she teaches during the week. It's been fun and AMAZING to see the progress in all of the dogs that come to class week over week. The owners seem happier w their pets, the dogs are calmer and you can see all the personalities emerging as the stress of bad behavior is gone. We have done 6 weeks of classes and have 3 more to go. I felt like I got my money's worth out of the instruction after week 2. I have no doubt that Bailey will be showing up to work with me very soon. Alli really knows her stuff.
