Updating because they never seem to want to get my pets in for care and direct us else where. Disappointed after a nice initial visit.

Everyone is always so helpful and kind. Very professional and empathetic when both of our elderly dogs passed away. Won't go anywhere else.

Sheep Draw Veterinary Hospital - Spotlessly clean

I know it can be really hard trying to find a good vet, and I truly can simply not recommend them…read moreenough! They are always so patient and wonderful with my very anxious (and very loud) dog. We always have a great experience with them-even though our little dog would always rather not be there. I have seen several different doctors now, and they all are really fantastic. Hopefully this can help others get an idea on how simply wonderful they are. My dog just had a dental cleaning with extractions, along with an eye mass removal done. The bill was incredibly reasonable for everything that was done (I see in past reviews people upset that the dental was $1000+, but that is just standard pricing for dental cleanings for dogs and cats because they have to go under full general sedation and have no insurance is covering it unlike people dental visits). Before the procedure, she had some bloodwork done to make sure she was safe for surgery. I figured we would get the results in 2-3+ days like most clinics. Nope, they did the bloodwork there, we waited a short while, then Dr. Dahl brought in a copy of her results and explained them in great depth with us. Despite our noisy dog, Dr. Dahl even picked up on a heart murmur that no one else had heard before. Dr. Dahl caught that our dog was likely showing signs of another problem that we didn't even realize, and sent us home with medication to keep her comfortable (along with a helpful flyer for a cardiologist recommendation). The day of the procedure, after we dropped off our dog, Dr. Dahl called me to clarify called me to clarify some additional services I had requested. I told her she didn't need to worry about anyone calling me until she was ready to go home. I still got a call from Dr. Dahl letting me know once she was out of surgery and how she did. When we picked up our dog, I had expected a technician to give me some written discharge instructions, and then to leave. To my surprise, Dr. Dahl herself went through everything with us. She reviewed what she found during the procedure, and even went over the dental x-rays in great detail with us. She had asked a specialist to take a look at something abnormal in her x-rays, but didn't even charge us a consultation fee for it (which I would have expected). We had a lot of questions, and she was so patient answering them all. A technician even called a day or so after she was home to check in on how she was doing as well! I have absolutely no complaints about this practice! :D

When I walked in I appreciated they have a dog entrance and waiting area separate from the cat and small animal entrance and area. The place was spotlessly clean, and the staff friendly. I would bring my cat here again if I was in the area.

It's taken me a while to stir up the courage to write this review but I feel what I experienced at…read morethe clinic needs to be shared, it might save another animals life. I brought my cat here in 2019 when she wasn't feeling well and I needed to get her seen asap. St Michael's had many open appointments and told me to bring her in. I should of seen this as a first red flag, but when they needed to run testing, they absolutely wouldn't allow me to be with my cat to comfort her during testing and instead brought her into some back room where I couldn't see her or anything other going on. They were very rude and adamant about this and I was trying to trust their judgment but I heard my cat screaming back there and I was mortified to hear that. It was absolutely not normal and not necessary because she had always been curious and loving at previous clinics. Never once have I experienced her having a reaction like this at a vet and it still hurts my heart today thinking that they could have hurt her and I didn't have any idea or chance to stop them. Once testing was done, she was diagnosed with kidney disease. I was offered one route of treatment only, even after trying to explain that I needed something doable, being a college student and caregiver for my mother at the time. After this, I was prescribed the most expensive options available. A $45 bag of SubQ fluids, which were so expensive due to added electrolytes, every two weeks, and the most expensive bag of KD cat food that they carried, which ended up starving my cat because she would not eat it. After I told them that the treatment they gave me was not working for her, Whitnee had the audacity to sit in the room and tell me that I needed to euthanize her because I could not afford it. I can't believe that they tried to convince me that killing my cat was better than finding any other route of treatment to help her. I decided to move to a different veterinarian and seek a second opinion, where they prescribed her a $12 simple bag of fluids, worked with me with finding a food that would work for my cat and let me be in the room to hold my cat during our visits. My childhood companion cat is now 21 years old and has surpassed seven more years of life as a very happy girl. I'm so glad I didn't listen to the b of an owner Whitnee Patten at St Michael's, who loves to laugh in your face because shes smarter than you by the way, and sought out another opinion. The visits at this clinic traumatized my cat for a very long time but also traumatized me taking her to any vet after. They might have a couple nice techs but these people are not animal lovers, definitely not cat people, and would rather kill your pet over money then waste time finding a solution you both can maintain. Avoid them at all costs.
