And I have never written a Yelp review before, however our horrible experience has compelled me to write a review so that nobody else experiences the same thing that we did. We hired Mackenzie Sharp of Walk the Dog. We interviewed several people, and eventually decided on Mackenzie. We have a little zoo.... four dogs, a cat, a lizard and a snake. We also have a garden that needs watering. Two of our dogs have high anxiety issues. We were looking for someone to live in our home, and to be there the majority of the time. Mackenzie assured us that this would be what she would do, and may be gone 4-5 hours mid day, but otherwise would be there. She also shared with us that she would be the only person coming into our home. I appreciated this especially because we have rescue dogs that can still be quite nervous, and I am hesitant to have them meet any new person without me present....I just wouldn't want them to react negatively. We went over the instructions clearly, and also wrote out everything in detail, including medication that needed to be given to two of the dogs twice per day. Mackenzie assured us that she would communicate regularly and send photos regularly. We left town on Friday June 30, 2017. Mackenzie came to our home early that morning so she would be there when we left. Over the next few days our communication was sporadic with Mackenzie. She wouldn't always respond and we received one photo. On Sunday evening around 11:00 our meighbors attempted to reach me through text. I did not see this text until Monday morning. When I called them they had said that our dogs had been barking in the back yard from approximately 3pm until 3am. They said it was a very anxious and comsistent (every minute) barking at the back yard. They said that other people were yelling at our dogs to stop and that someone had been walking around blowing a dog whistle. They said this had gone on Friday and Saturday night as well. I then attempted to reach Mackenzie. After a couple of hours she returned my call. She said that she was dealing with a spider infestation in her home and she wasn't able to be at my home as much. She also told me that her boyfriend had been coming over to help her at our house. We contacted some friends of ours who agreed to take the dogs, and we had Mackenzie bring them there. When we returned home we found urine all over the home. It took us awhile to calm the dogs, and retrain one of them to not urinate in the home. And so to summarize, we hired Mackenzie to live in our home while we were away, feed, walk, give medicine to, and be with our pets. Instead, she was hardly ever there. She left the dogs either inside or outside for 12 plus hours at a time. They did not get their medication when needed. Our home was covered with at least 30 urine spots. She did not communicate with us to let us know there was an issue. She let a stranger to our dogs into our home (when it was clear this wasn't supposed to happen). I am more than frustrated with this situation. Mackenzie Sparp may look good on paper. She may seem like a good fit when you meet her, but she is not a woman of her word. I felt deceived, lied to, and most of all sorry that our pets were out through this. I was also very frustrated with the time and money that we had to put into cleaning our carpets. On top of that, we were put in a position of needing to apologize to many surrounding neighbors for the disturbance. My recommendation is that you STEER CLEAR OF MACKENZIE SHARP AND WALK THE DOG.

We had to go shorter on the cut than expected, but the bows & handkerchief were adorable. Her face cut came out great and those long eye lashes were intact. Lovely! She was pretty chill after she got home too, it was nice to see that response. I had gone to a different groomer before and it was not a great experience,they barely touched her face, just buzzed down the nose, but hair was still in her eyes! And then we were dealing with a mop-like beard, extra-long ear hair and an injured nail. But Beatyfur did a GREAT job! No injuries, she is clean cut, cut correctly and cute even for her itty bitty frame. Thank you!

The only reason I gave her a 4/5 stars is because I had specifically asked for my Mini Australian Shepherd to not be shaved down and I picked her up shaved. I used to work alongside dog groomers, so I know first hand why Australian Shepherds (double-coated dogs) should not be clipped super short. For me, it's not a risk I want to take with my dogs. Camper looks super cute, but I'm hoping that her hair grows back how it should. Thankfully, so far there's no serious signs of coat damage. I will likely give her another chance before going elsewhere.

The groomers were so patient and made sure she felt safe and comfortable the entire time. She was quite matted and really needed a good groom, and they did an amazing job! She looks absolutely beautiful now--so clean, soft, and well-trimmed. Plus, she came home happy and tired from all the playtime! We truly appreciate the care and attention they gave her. Lately, it seems that the grooming staff has been leaving an hour or two earlier than what their hours state they should. We've gone in several times well before closing and no one is there and no other store employees are aware of it. Tonight, we called first to make sure someone was there. Sure enough, all of the grooming staff was already gone by 5 when they are supposed to be open until 6pm. Super frustrating, especially when there is no option to book an appointment for a nail grinding online. Our dog doesn't enjoy going anyways and then to get there, and have to take him back to the car, and go back home for nothing is getting really frustrating and it is a waste of our time and gas. If the grooming hours stated are not being followed and the grooming staff is not going to adhere to them, it's not fair to walk in customers. At this point, we're ready to take our business elsewhere.

When I dropped her off, I requested her usual Yorkie puppy cut and specifically asked for a full haircut with her coat kept short for the summer. Instead, when I picked her up, she had been completely shaved. She looked nothing like the Yorkie puppy cut she has received for years. Unfortunately, the groomer was not present when I dropped her off or when I picked her up, so I never had the opportunity to discuss the haircut or understand what happened with the communication. I still don't know how my request was misunderstood. To make matters worse, I noticed when I got home that her tear stains had not even been cleaned, something I had to do myself. In the ten years I've owned my dog and had her groomed every couple of months, I have never had an experience this disappointing. I understand that hair grows back, but it is heartbreaking to see my dog completely shaved when that is not what I requested. I trusted this business based on our long history together, and I left feeling very sad and let down. I sincerely hope this feedback helps prevent another pet owner from having a similar experience in the future.
